Hoolahan? Youlahan!

Well, we've lost, lets all have a tantrum shall we?

Recommended Posts

We have entirely outplayed a poor Coventry side, beaten by an unjust penalty and a crossbar deflection, but we purely dominated the game, and yet i come on here and see people commenting that they cant be arsed with it etc. It really winds me up because we have genuinely looked a strong attacking side, 18 shots on goal doesnt lie.

Okay so, we are missing a target man, but we arent missing goal scorers. We are going to stick the ball in the back of the net when we have gelled, so can we all stop shedding pathetic tears about the fact we lost on the opening day.

We are never short of exscuses for not winning are we.

Eventually you have to accept that we just aren''t good enough in front of goal.

Goalscorers win games, that''s why they cost a lot of money.

I''d rather see the team play non pretty football and get goals which in turn equals points.  Without goals and a good out and out striker you don''t get points, no points means relegation.

The fact that we had 18 shots and scored NONE proves we arent a strong attacking team it just proves that Coventry are poor defensivly, if we were a strong attacking team we would have scored.  And who cares how the goals were scored they scored 2 goals from about 5 shots and we scored none from 18.Why should we put up with losing to lets face it a crap Coventry team?  We should have won but failed because of lack of funds and relying on two good but unproven and young strikers that still have a lot to learn. We need good players now instead of turning into a club that teaches youngsters for the big teams! We have the right to moan about that theres one positive we can take from that game and thats that we are a better team than Coventry

On the basis of one game away to Coventry, erm, I dont think I have to accept anything.

Im not going to argue with a fellow fan.

Im simply saying that why should i emulate a huge drama oh we are going down boo hoo..etc

on the basis of one match?

[/quote]

No drama, just the obvious fact that to win games you need to score goals. Pretty football is all well and good but at the end of the season 3 points is still 3 points no matter what sort of football you play.

Goal scorers are much more expensive than midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers for the simple reason that they make the difference between success and failure. You are very lucky if you can get one on the cheap or on loan therefore you need to spend big money.

This should be our Ashton moment. If we wait until January it will be too late to make a difference. Glenn has obviously got some decent talent in with very little layout. We can all see what is needed now and whatever the cost we must go for it or live to regret it.

No need for a tantrum just realisation we will be in for another poor season.  Its all so depressing, before you remind me its game one of the season for a new team, the signs are there again no goals and we are looking for a sticking plaster on the cheap.  Where''s the investment Delia hinted at ?  We desperately need a quality striker or two and they will cost significant sums which we just won''t pay,

Unlike the joker on Canary Call I''m not predicting the play offs.  Hope that is not misplaced would be nice.  GR has got bodies in ok but what quality at those prices or the youngsters sent to City to lear their trade.

Completely agree Ricardo (first time ever!), altthough perhaps for slightly different reasons; I think a lot of the team are capable of scoring, but react badly to the pressure of being the one expected to score. I think that if there was somebody there who the team felt could always knock one in ( given decent service, which now seems to be there), then it just might make them less inhibited in front of goal. That''s my fond hope, anyway! But, yes, he will cost alot of money.
