Sing Up The South Stand 0 Posted July 10, 2008 To think the Hammers only got a 5.5m fine last year for their offences (I know they are different circumstances, and events). You know full well had what happened to Luton happened to a Premier League club (albeit they''d be relegated to champ) or a ''decent'' London club it wouldn''t have been anywhere near as much as 20 points.. Desi Rascall 0 Posted July 10, 2008 looks like the F.A are taking it out on Luton, for Newell blowing the whistle, whilst other clubs who have undoubtably done the same eacape scot free. This disproportinate punishment will probally deter others from coming foward in future. ellis206 0 Posted July 10, 2008 They are starting the season on -30 points, that is really really harsh, feel sorry for the Luton fans big time!

The Walking Man 13 Posted July 10, 2008
First team to finish the season on minus points? Buncey 1 Posted July 10, 2008 -30 (just heard it on newsbeat), makes me sick that leeds got away with it with only -15 and west ham with nothing.Tbh I can see luton town just dissolving. They can''t stay up with that big a points deduction and there''s no way they can make money, they don''t even have an assets. Disgusting that teams like luton are on the verge of oblivion when all the fat cats suck up all the money. Especially considering they were a top flight team not too long ago. The Walking Man 13 Posted July 10, 2008
-30 points seems incredibly over the top, considering how much bigger clubs seem to get away with...
But you forget the clubs like West Ham can afford big scary lawyers that could embarass te FA. Whereas ''tin pot'' clubs that are on the verge of going bust can''t afford big fancy lawyers ths reducing their ability to challenge the FA for fear of losing even more money so therefore are an easy target... Camuldonum 0 Posted July 10, 2008 It will be very hard for them to stay in League II with that sort of deduction because it''s normally a very tight league anyway. I also feel sorry for their fans. I suppose the only thing you can say is that they still have a club - at one point it looked as it might disappear completely.
Papa Boupa knee op 0 Posted July 10, 2008 This is stupid! They will have to appeal, Leeds did well from -10 points last year, 30 is just a joke!
Buncey 1 Posted July 10, 2008 They''ve only just got enough players to field a team, I really don''t know about a bench though.
Herman 11,136 Posted July 10, 2008 Is the FA trying to destroy Luton? It does seem OTT to me.Good luck to them, they are going to need it!
fleggy 0 Posted July 10, 2008 Wasn''t the F.A. was it - Football League rulings.
Crafty Canary 547 Posted July 10, 2008 Perhaps this will encourage clubs to apply ''prudence with ambition'' in their dealings. How long before the Doomster uses Luton Town as another example of why we shouldn''t invest in players?
ndhscanary 0 Posted July 10, 2008 Well thats fuckin harsh in my opinion. they just seem to be kicking a club down even more when they are already in enough trouble. see the fa and football league give out money for fun to premiership teams which they clearly dont need eg. chelsea or man u and yet i doubt they will do anything to support lower league clubs struggling like luton and bournemouth. And i know they already had a 10 or 15 point deduction for cheating. west ham once again comes to mind
E I E I E I O 0 Posted July 10, 2008 Does anybody think that a petition may start against this ruling, the club are goners. Football is all money and no fun now!
