mbncfc 1 Posted January 11, 2007 It is worth remembering that Chris Brown is basically Leon Mckenzie''s replacement.Leon : 30 years old in May - 205 games / 83 goalsBrown : 22 & 2 months - 63 games / 20 goalsWe''ve made money on the deal, we have a player who appears to fit it in terms of what we''re missing rather than a poor man''s Earnshaw, and he has more potential in terms of his age.Just another angle... Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,220 Posted January 11, 2007 Totally agree with what you say and the low fee hopefully means we should be seeing one or two more signings, a good midfielder and a decent centre half would go down a treat....
charlies dad 0 Posted January 11, 2007 If you look at it in those terms, it looks a whole lot better. If he is in fact the replacement for Mckenzie the badge kisser and all his baggage, it could work out.
Regime Change 0 Posted January 11, 2007 I agree he could turn out to be a decent signing.I wouldn''t be surprised if Grant is to imitate what Pardew did at West Ham and bring and a bunch of talented ambitious youngsters to the club.

Cobain18 0 Posted January 11, 2007 fingers crossed for the midfielder and defender. if we sell fleming which i think we should then we should definately get another central defender in
Rethinking the future 0 Posted January 11, 2007 Good Post.We need a forward who will cause the defence problems and hold the ball up for our proven goal scorer. If he has the running and heart of McKenze, he could easily become a crowd favourite. As I have said elsewhere, Stats mean nothing at the end of the day. What he does on the pitch is everything.

[/quote]I''ve checked various sites in case I missed something.Chris Brown in his professional career has scored 10 goals on loan at Doncaster, 1 on loan at Hull and 9 while at Sunderland. Contrary to my maths skills shown on another thread, that makes 20.Both come from the sites CJF quoted in a thread yesterday. Most places vary a little, but I''m yet to find anywhere state that Brown has scored 11 goals in 67 games... [:D][:O][:P]You shouldn''t make it sound like I''ve made them up...
