Rushden and Diamonds? There's a team I've not heard of in a long time..

The original Rushden and Diamonds was liquidated about 12 years ago. Fans started a new club called AFC Rushden and Diamonds which now plays in Tier 9.

Many years ago I travelled to Bedford to watch Lowestoft play them in the first round proper, as I lived in Lowie at the time, it didn’t end well though as Bedford won convincingly!

I hope it turns out better for Mulbarton!

Sadly relegated last season as we're local rivals Kettering town

No need to book in advance. Cash or card available at the gate.

Can't watch this, quality is awful, they've got no sport vision and the goalies are rubbish.

They have 3 absolutely exceptional midfield players. Mulbarton had 3 kids in the middle of the pitch who are very promising players but they couldn't get a kick.

I think Bedford are at least 1 tier above Mulbarton and it showed.

The result should be void and the game played again as it kicked off at 2.58. Mulbarton had scored before 3pm!

But yes. As others have said it showed Bedford were a couple of steps up. Their number 5 was good. They had great support as well.

When the teams walked out someone commented that the number 5 was carrying a bit of weight. Turns out that's because he rarely needs to run.

Dereham 2-1 ipswich wanderers

Extra time was needed for Dereham but it's still always good to see a Norfolk team come out on top!

LiM's iron law of non-league football is that the fattest player on the pitch is always the best player on the pitch.

All Norfolk clubs drawn away from home in the next round

I didn't think the draw fixing ("warm balls" 😉 ) came in until round 3?

Many years ago on Scottish radio a member of the SFA shouted ouch during their cup draw. Someone had overheated the Rangers and Celtic balls.
