Webber out! Farke in?

Recommended Posts

Webber has spunked our money to the wall.

Farke always wanted to be a sporting director so let’s beg him to come back!

Webber is a fraud, milking this club for tens of thousands weekly.

And now he's got his mate stealing a salary has coach.

****.

Everything in football is cyclical. Webber did brilliantly for four years or so, but we're in a very similar situation now to when he arrived. A poor attempt at trying to bounce back immediately from Premier League relegation with a squad full of players who are not performing at their past levels and in need of an overhaul.

Which four years were those then? He’s had two good years that’s all

It's too simplistic to say that the only good years were the ones we got promoted. In the first season he was building the side that got promoted, and in the third season we were using the Premier League money wisely by developing the training ground and still preparing to come back stronger.

Summer 2021 and beyond has been poor though, and training ground aside, we're back where we started in 2017.

If Farke was to come back I'd want him as manager. All those who turned on him should hang their heads. Said it at the time. We had a one-off in Farke - it'll be a long time before we see his like again.

No way Delia and Michael were giving up on the Webber project at that point. They allowed him to sack Farke instead of Webber himself falling on sword. It’s deluded to think Farke could have stayed but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

He cannot fall on a sword when his wife holds it.

Farke isn't the answer either. People often overlook how important the players are and too often praise or blame the manager for success or failure.

We all thought Lambert was the next big thing in management but it turned out his success was more down to the chemistry between Hoolahan and Holt. Ditto Farke and Buendia/Pukki.

Farke's record without Buendia was similar to Smith and Wagners record here. Webber seems to always go for a nice, quiet player who doesn't have a winning mentality with no pace/aggression/strength or will to win. It's always the small, slow, technical player who likes to play as if the opposition can't run and who likes to play slow, short passing football at a snails pace.

Remember Marvin Ducksch? We pushed hard to sign him, someone who admitted he didn't want to sign for us because he was scared of the pace and intensity of English football according to an interview he gave afterwards. We target the wrong type of players and no manager in the world could turn these type of players into a hard working, well organised, aggressive and clinical team.

100% Farke could do the job and is also a great communicator. At this stage I wouldn’t be averse to Adams. There is a malaise at the club that needs rooting out. A lack of leadership both on and off the pitch!

100% Farke would be a massive mistake.
Nuff said.
