RIP Bernie Patzelt.

Recommended Posts

All over Book of Faces this evening and City fans of a certain vintage will know that he was one of the original Barclay Boys. Apparently had a heart attack after suffering for a while with issues surrounding his ticker.

I knew Bernie Patterson back in the day - is this a different Bernie?

Poor old Bernie, yes he was massive part of our 'Barclay' history. Saw him at a match last season.

Remember him going into the Ip**** mob on his own next to away fans, next thing it all opens up there's Bernie going like a windmill in the middle!

He used to get involved with the BNP rallies on matchday too, although he was colored!

A really character,  l will raise a glass for him today. RIP

How about have a Bernie Patterson day at the football this season? Should get a good turnout

OMG. I only knew one Bernie in the Barclay but didn't know his surname.

RIP

There was also a Bernie Patterson.

EDIT: didn't realise it was the same one.

It's the same Bernie P but Patzelt was his real surname, no idea how it got changed to Patterson.

Helps one fit in, my Uncle , on arriving from Hungary after the Ruskies invaded, changed his name from Tzego to Seago. Couldnt get a job interview under his old name, got one straight after changing it.

My experience of him was when i was a young teenager , though a rough old boy, he was always decent to me and my friends... probably grooming us as future troops 😉.

RIP BP BBB.
