littleyellowbirdie 3,138 Posted January 5, 2023 He has been a massively important player for us this season. Pity Smith wasn't given more credit for having got him here in the first place and for coaching the lad to deliver well for us to a good level or we might not have had to say goodbye to him.

WD40 726 Posted January 5, 2023 Why does LYB want to go down with the Dean Smith ship? Bizarre.
Google Bot 3,929 Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) Definitely one of the brighter points of Smith's reign. It's a real shame that Hayden couldn't be the other. the injury's we had under Smith have really been a problem hopefully our luck starts to turn and we can get someone on loan (Creative or defensive mid perhaps?) to replace him, and players like AO and Idah stay fit for the remainder. Be interesting to see how long it is before he's playing again. Even if he wasn't injured, I wouldn't mind betting he'd be recalled on the back of Smith's sacking. Alex Ferguson did much the same thing with some United loanees when his son was sacked from PNE. And there was no arguing with the fact that he was a good player thriving under Smith, reinforcing the point that he was a good coach who deserved backing when we were at the top. hogesar 10,762 Posted January 5, 2023 Was one of our better attackers this season so hopefully the fact he's gone back gives us a loan option to get someone else in. Nothing to do with Smith leaving though - I don't think he's playing again this season and from everything said Villa side he might not even start training again until pre-season. Yeah, but you're missing the point. If the fans hadn't booed Smith then he would never have got injured, obviously.
