O/T Allardyce to step down at end of season

Recommended Posts

All a bit harsh on allardyce here!

Why is there this agenda against him? Because of the England issue? Because he seen as a mercenary but really he's only getting a contract that's good for himself i.e. why go somewhere be a firefighter to then it kicked out?

Or because he is a dinosaur? Well, surely he just cuts his cloth and plays whatever style the players allow him to, job in hand and tools available etc?

I just don't get it. He did improve wba. He has improved every club he has been to.

Would he job at Norwich? Well we probably don't have the squad suited to him, nor the transfer budget to get what he would need

I've always quite liked him, backs to the wall British bulldog kind of character.  Daft to get caught out by the sting operation but he was basically he was scammed by a highly skilful team of reporters. Let himself down in the way he talked to them, but nothing more.

John Bull with his back to the wall (rough sketch) and Commonwealth troops clambering over, circa 1939/1940 : PropagandaPosters

So that's Big Sam and Woy retiring.

Any English managers left in the Premier League for next season, apart from Dychen and one other?

Villa, Newcastle, Brighton, Burnley, possibly Bournemouth or Swansea depending on play-offs.

I think it's more that West Brom have been heavily dependent on loan players for the last two seasons, need a rebuild in midfield and attack, and the attractiveness of the position depends on the size of the transfer budget

Looking at his starting lineup last night, Pereira's scored 12 Premiership goals and will have plenty of suitors, Conor Gallagher, Maitland-Niles, Yokuslu and Diagne(came on from the bench) are all loan players and aren't going to drop down to the Championship.

Chris Wilder apparently in talks regarding the role according to the Telegraphs John Percy. Would be a good appointment for West Brom

Extinction of the dinosaurs.

There’s graham potter at Brighton (for now), Dean Smith at Villa, Bruce’s at Newcastle of course, Moysey’s British, Rodgers British, and Woodgate at Bournemouth if they go up.
