TIL 1010 5,246 Posted March 29, 2015 Dundee will be along shortly to tell us all the life and times of Alex Neil.
havemyhowsonit 0 Posted March 29, 2015 What again TIL? Can''t wait to see it again. He must be in love with him
ZLF 335 Posted March 29, 2015 Great article explaining why our season has turned around.as small point but am glad paddy thinks he is a cerebral thinker, much more preferable than using other areas of the body for it, perhaps it explains some posters on here and previous manager got it wrong? Intestinal thinking springs to mind
morty 0 Posted March 29, 2015 Good too to see that he has the humility to hold his hands up when he makes a mistake. The difference in having confidence in your own abilities, and just being arrogant.
shefcanary 2,950 Posted March 29, 2015 Given the piece on Football Focus yesterday about ex-players and current managers going for their pro-licence as well as the ex-Messiah''s recounting of his time getting the licence in Germany, can anyone confirm if Neil The New Messiah has a formal coaching qualification? I am not bothered if he hasn''t aside from it adds to the story over Adams departure. Adams quitting and then immediately going to St George''s to finish his pro-licence work implies he felt being a manager isn''t just about in-built talent and leadership qualities. Whereas Neil at the moment seems to be a natural.
mrs miggins 0 Posted March 29, 2015 If he doesn''t get us up, there are no guarantees that we''ll offer him a contract. Although he''s done a great job since coming in, its not a foregone conclusion that he''ll be here automatically the following season.

Neil has made the right impression, got results from an underperforming team, is a good communicator and has transformed our look out for this season. Why on earth wouldn''t he be asked to stay on, regardless of whether we get promoted this season or not?

Think he is on a rolling 1 year contract so will very much be here next season.
mrs miggins 0 Posted March 29, 2015 didn''t know that JF thought he was here till the end of the season, you''re right though, he''s on a rolling contract.Lakey are you trying to be ironic?, it was not only last week that you were patronising me and everyone else saying we can''t assume we''ve done the job, still a long way to go, and all that. As I said before, he''s done a great job and therefore currently DOES deserve a new contract. However, what if he did an Adams and doesn''t win a game for the next month? I''m not saying it''s that likely to happen (we said that about Adams), but if (as I previously thought) his contract was just until the end of the season and we finished outside the play-offs or 6th and went completely off course like before, people wouldn''t be as confident. I fully expect him to be here next season and hope he is so don''t get on your high horses. My point was that the title of the article (nothing to do with what he has actually been quoted on...such is the edp) implies that he''d be here no matter what. Now I realise his contract situation, he certainly will be here next season, and i''m glad. star_manic 0 Posted March 29, 2015 That interview shows how grounded and realistic/honest AN is. He is a born leader, able to accept, and analyse, his own mistakes, and learn from them. He has been our manager for nearly three months now, has he ever been less than honest in his, and the team''s, performances? Basically, in the cynical world of professional football he stands out as a very unique specimen. OTBC.

This would indicate a longer term engagement.
mrs miggins 0 Posted March 30, 2015 quite the opposite, if he''s not successful. If he is (and the fact that I now know he''s on a rolling contract) then he will be here next season.

And once they get a grip on you they won''t let go!
