  1. The frustration is being caused by the 11 Professional Entertainers on the pitch.
  2. As Nutty says, there are no words. No parent should have to bury their child, it is the worst on so many levels. We are waiting to hear if my wife has cancer, and even the possibility triggers the re-evaluation of so many actions and priorities. I hope you can face going to the Carra without him one day. Your reports are the one true barometer of how the team is performing. I hope the club is saving them as they are a form of social history, an integral part of the Club's history. Take care - of yourself as well as those around you.
  3. Henderson off and Madders on for me too. Henderson is too slow for this game, and looks likely to give the ball away at any moment.
  4. That's two fouls on Saka not given. Both in good positions, one leading to their goal. The penalty shout, harder to call, but it is difficult to believe that Fifa are not conspiring against us.
  5. If I remember correctly, the incident to which you are referring is when Bennett barged an Arsenal player into that camera dugout.
  6. Sterling always looks like he should play for us - he goes on mazy runs, gets in a great position, and then falls over. If Southgate was building a team for the league he'd build it around Maddison - well certainly if he had any sense. The pressures on the England Manager, and the players is such that it sucks all the risk-taking and flair out of them, and I can't see this ever changing.
  7. Selling Ekoku when we did - he came back and scored against us at CR. It was a terrible time to fall out of the top league.
  8. Who's going to PUNish you for this, now Pete has moved on? And you know you should be, don't you.
  9. The Ref at least twice said play-on because we had the advantage for bad fouls by Stoke, and then didn't go back and book the Stoke player. In the build up to our third goal Pukki was taken out by an arm around the throat. I hope his assessment picks up on this.
  10. Back on topic. This is a hard one for me - of course I want us to be trying for promotion, but the scars of last season, following on from two seasons earlier, mean that I cannot face being in the Premier League with the core of the team we currently have. I can hope that we'd buy well and strengthen the squad, but that would be a case of "hope over experience". We've failed to do this these last two times, and I cannot see us doing a Fulham or Forest. For Fulham it took two attempts, and at the time 19/20 seemed like a free hit - take the money, go down, build the squad and come back stronger, but that didn't happen, and I can't see it happening if we got promoted this season either. So it's a "No" from me.
  11. Penny Mordor is not a moderate candidate. She is as a member of the ERG, which makes her a Brexit Loon. I have not seen any indication that she is actually human - the only thing I have seen her express is aggression, when she stood in for Mary-Elizabeth at PMQs, and it was pretty unedifying.
  12. My first Father-in-Law was a bit of a weekend dinghy sailor and was once introduced to Ted Heath. Anxious to make a good impression he thought he'd reference their shared nautical interest, so he asked " Have you been chasing around the buoys lately?" Ted Heath shot him a stern look, said nothing, and moved on.
  13. Don't worry, she'll have done a U-turn before the end of the day, and will be heading down the A140 to spend her remaining 50 pence on blue and white merchandise .
  14. It seems to me that some effort by the government to give some advise would help some people feel a little bit more supported than they currently do. What is wrong with sending out a leaflet with some energy saving tips - oh I know, the Energy Companies would sell less electricity and make slightly smaller disgustingly large profits? The corruption in this country used to be well hidden, to the point that it was hard to see. Now it is in plain sight, and they just don't care that we can see it. I will say it now, because I may not feel it later, when the scenes of violence are on our screens, but there will be blood, and some of it will be innocent police blood, which will be shed because they are paid to stand between us and the" apologies-for-human-beings" that are governing this country
  15. When asked about sending out tips on how to reduce energy bills, our glorious government said that it was not their place to tell people what to do. Surely that is precisely the role of government. This is the same government that ended the really successful home insulation scheme in the mid 2010's and brought in the scandalous "Green Deal" to replace it. Is it possible that the Energy suppliers donate to the Tory party? Oh, and we need a Central Defensive Midfielder - just in case you were about to say this is not football related.
  16. Didn't his knees go, and he could barely walk through an entire game, or did his form tail off before then?
  17. there was meant to be a second mausoleum at the other end of the Ponds, but it was never build due to the cost. Like the NDR, HS2 etc. etc
  18. Mary Elizabeth Truss, just like Alexander Boris de Piffpaff Johnson.
  19. I told my wife about the "Two Soups" meme about when Mary Truss tried to Curtsy to HRH King Charles the Third. A couple of days later she found herself in The Queue in the middle of the first night, and told those around her about "Two Soups". Two American girls who were there had no idea what was going on, so my wife re-enacted the whole scene for them. To her delight she watched as the "Two Soups" joke passed down The Queue for the next 30 minutes.
  20. It was very kind of our defenders to allow the Goalkeeper the opportunity to make so many good saves.
  21. Is this the time to mention the Blood Libel, which somewhat tarnishes our claims to being a Fine City?
  22. Ah Beckett - now he knew how to organise his squad to Play the Endgame. Oh, Happy Days.
  23. I think that I'm with you Nutty. Pukki and Cantwell as impact subs looked pretty effective on Saturday.
  24. ? Sunderland didn't have a third of their squad wandering aimlessly outside in a failed attempt to stop the Prussian army attacking on the right wing. Also Napoleon used his reserves too late to influence the result - a tactic repeated by Farke. However the analogy may have some value, as our defending at times did resemble the reports of the fight for the Hougoumont.
