1. I would like to bet that Spillane and Rossi Jarvis would find it far more cruel being left out after the way they played the other night. They are professionals at the club and if they can''t step in when there are injuries then they shouldn''t be on the staff. These lads are clearly good enough and from what they have said are dying to play. We could do with some more of their enthusiasm! Spillane, Cave-Brown, Rossi Jarvis, Lewis and Martin are all very talented youngsters and if we don''t start playing them soon then we are going to lose them elsewhere.
2. Those of you at the Wolves game will understand this. Steward 226......what a legend!!! :-)
3. Finally the youngsters given a go. Great game from Spillane and Rossi Jarvis. Now keep them in the team!!! Much better than Breiller!!
4. I agree City Angel. It was awful. I was stunned by how bad we were and the complete lack of ability of efforst showed by the team. I''m struggling to see a positive at all. The only one I can think of is that a small band of fans around me tried to sing through the whole game to lift the players. It didn''t work but we had fun. 226 give us a wave, 226 give us a wave!!! How did he manage to keep a straight face.......! :-)
5. Mine would be: Marshall Otsemobor Spillane Shackell Drury Croft Russell Rossi J Lappin Strihavka Huckerby If Dublin wasn''t out suspended I have him start up front with Hucks. I think we have much more shape when Hucks isn''t on the left and he can then wander freely wherever playing up front!
6.
And Dublin has just received a three match Taliban.
Very witty rude old. I like it!! :-)
7. Very glad he scored but if you had seen him play for the reserves against MK the other week I''m not sure you would have the same opinion. He was shocking. Still more time on the pitch can only be a good thing as he clearly does have some talent!
8. I was also at the game and while I did not notice Murray that much, for me the biggest worry was Strihavka. To be perfectly honest he had a stinker. His link up play and understanding with those around him was non-existent, his passing was poor and often gave the ball away, he won very few headers and to top it all off his shooting was woeful - he hit the bar from three yards with an open goal. Its fair to say I left the game feeling pretty worried about it. Ok it''s one game but the signs weren''t too promising. On a positive note I though Spillane had a great game while Cave-Brown and Rossi Jarvis looked solid too. Bally Smart deserves a special mention for his searing pace. He beat his marker time after time by turning and knocking the ball past him then sprinting onto it. If he can improve his final ball a bit more he will be awesome. He also hit the bar late on with a good shot.
9. Over the past couple of weeks I have watched my local team Northampton play friendlies against West Brom and Wolves. They lost 5-1 and 3-0 respectively. West Brom looked awesome - I left the game feeling worried about the coming season as we are no way near as impressive. Phillips and Beattie looked great up front and their midfield has so much talent - Gera, Koren and the new portugese chap. They could all pass the ball about and ripped Northampton to shreads. Their only possible weakness is in defence. Ok Northampton are a league below but I would be amazed if West Brom didn''t get promoted this season. Wolves also looked good although not in the same class as West Brom. Keogh looked very bright as did Kightly and Eastwood scored a crisp goal when he came on. I think Wolves will be up there come May too but propbably in the play offs. On another note, a certain Ian Henderson was playing for Northampton in both games. He played well and he scored a great goal against West Brom. I think he has found his level in this league. He was working hard for the team and you could see he had a little bit of quality from his movement off the ball. I really hope he gets a decent run in the side and the fans don''t get on his back. Not good enough for Norwich but wish him all the best for the future. Thought these comments might be of interest!
10. Halliday''s is totally shocking. That must have been a dare surely?? Same with Chadwick and Eagle. Looks like a load of 70s throwbacks! 5 goalies on the team photo - that seems a lot!!
11. I think that''s very harsh. Gallagher signed a new contract because he thought he was going to be number one as Greeno left. He wasn''t banking on Grant coming in and signing lots of other keepers. If Greeno hadn''t left I think Gallagher would have done as he didn''t want to warm the bench. He isn''t always injured like Thorne and from what Grant says his attitude is first rate and he works very hard in training. It''s unlikely he will play much but he is nothing like Thorne. I think he only has one year left on his contract as he signed a new two year deal last summer!
12. The best way is to wait by the players entrance before the game and get them to sign as they arrive. Players park in a small car park outside the Jarrold stand and go in at the end of the Jarrold stand nearest the Barclay. They arrive about 2 hours before kick off and are nearly always happy to sign autographs. It''s also interesting seeing what cars they turn up in! The same applies after the game although they often take a while to come out from the bar!
13. No way. Poor all round game and dreadful first touch. Offers nothing except goals and if he isn''t getting the service looks lost for ideas! Long way short of Bellamy, Ashton, Roberts, Hucks, Sutton etc etc
14. Agreed - Welcome Back. Good to see a player come in who really wants to be at the club and who has a proven goalscoring record!
15. I''m disappointed by Earnshaw''s comments, especially as I seem to remember him saying he was happy at Norwich and wanted to stay?? Saying that I wouldn''t be too unhappy if he left. To be perfectly honest, while we missed his goals when he was injured, I actually thought we looked a better team in terms of our shape. Earnie and Hucks can''t play up front together and we looked much better with two left sided players in the team in Drury and Lappin than with Hucks playing on the left but contiously wandering. £5m plus would give us the chance to bring in a couple of very decent players and hopefully a striker with a better ALL ROUND GAME than Earnshaw who is very one dimensional!
16. Fotheringham was dreadful yesterday. He gave the ball away far too much and like against Ipswich kept putting free kicks straight out of play. Grant thinks he has skill but I haven''t seen any of it yet - he attempted one fancy step over and got it wrong giving Southampton the chance to attack. Don''t understand why he has been given another contract. Spillane looks a great prospect. His tackling is superb and he carried the ball very well yesterday. Renton didn''t do a huge amount but he didn''t do anything wrong in a team that was playing badly. He is only 16 and has only played a handful of reserve games. I''m just pleased he is being given a chance!
17. 3-0!! Why do we always concede three. We must have let in three in at least 10 games this season!
18.
MLJ David Marshall Doherty Colin (Family Commitments) Safri Chadwick Fozzy Lappin Brown Huckerby   I can only get 10 (well 9 excluding Colin)
Good point, I had forgotten about Marshall!
19.

Dublin now limping out of the frey that''s now 18 unavailable players if he has to go off?!
Where do you get 18 from??
Let''s see - Chadwick, Brown, Hucks, Fozzy, Lappin, Ryan Jarvis (loan), Fisk (loan), Hendo (loan), McVeigh (loan), Rossi Jarvis (loan), Dublin, Safri, Thorne, (Louis Jean??), Doherty, Colin, Lewis (loan), Halliday (loan)?? Can''t think of any more. That''s 18!!
20.

Why isn''t Louis Jean on the bench?
To be honest, I''m of the opinion that the players who have told they can leave at the end of the season (of which we know one is MLJ, and surely Thorne too) have probably already gone. They just don''t seem to be heard of anymore, though I think Thorne may be injured, isn''t MLJ apparently fit (and has been for some time)?
I was chatting to a guy at the Leicester game who had been up to Colney last week and apparently Louis-Jean was training so he is still about.
