  1. I'm old school, I support all Norwich City players (and the good guys who have moved on - thanks for your work Jamal). I know, boring. But true. Roll on Saturday 😍
  2. He must be pretty tired, Wikipedia says he played 6034 times for Peterborough.
  3. Are recalls still allowed? Not being a clever sh*te, just don't know.
  4. Apologies if this already dealt with but do Luton get any sort of cut from our deal with Newcastle for Jamal?
  5. Really rated Benny Ashley-Seale, but admittedly only on glimpses of him, know little of Ruben Shakpoke (did he ship out? Think so but didn’t see it confirmed), hope it works out for them both but, without knowing the circumstances of decision-making, from their point of view suspect that best long term interests might’ve been served by staying with ourselves.
  6. Yes but they might be playing off a handicap. The hazards for news media jobs across the country were compounded years ago when the digital princes were gifted the keys to the asylum. But you can’t blame them, they were making their mark – as a football manager similarly does when he’s allowed to make signings beyond a club’s true resources and no-one tells him to take care. The technological dream was sound and the multi-media advances have been breath taking, especially where experienced hands have embraced the new tools and married them to proven standards of working. But in many news centres it looks like this was funded by diverting resources from print without there being an effective revenue plan in place for an orderly transition to the resulting changed commercial environment. That print sales have plunged but print advertising, while reduced, still appears to prop many businesses up tells an awkward story for past decision makers. It was always going to be tough, but past mistakes have made it tougher for those who are left to try and sort out survival. This of course is all opinion, a generalisation, which may or may not apply to Archant, but whatever the particular causes and circumstances in Norwich I very much hope that the hard working Pink Un team gets through this unscathed as I, like many others, appreciate them. As for this message board? Well any empty room would do for an argument wouldn’t it? But it's brilliant. Enjoy the day everyone – real football soon! 😁
  7. Ha ha ha, not convinced it isn't a genius spoof vid.
  8. We all know it’s too early in the window for accurate predictions, but I love it, trying to make sense of it all and even the irritating each other as we do it. But some are really good at assessing the realities – nearer kick-off I’ll be looking out for the predictions of Jonathan Low who covers Reading at BerkshireLive. He’s the only journo I can recall tipping us for promotion last time (at the same time as predicting Ipswich relegation) and his pre-season predictions last summer were Leeds and Fulham automatic with Brentford, West Brom, Boro and Stoke in the play-offs – a pretty good strike rate who I'll read before placing my bets. For what it’s worth I expect us to be champions (not forgetting that I expected us to stay up last season) with Burnley, Villa and Sheff U passing us on the stairs.
  9. Too true, but at my age I'm one of those who have to agree with the OP that 73 is early!
  10. Agreed, but other factors might right now have a stronger than usual influence, especially where players have family. The Covid uncertainty won’t go away in a hurry and feeling the security, on many levels, of what you and yours are familiar with can be very powerful. We’ve all changed in these last few months and one of the ways for the better, in my opinion, is a greater awareness of the emotional needs of those around us. So I'm not disagreeing, just saying it's not so clear cut any more.
  11. Yep, there's a reason why they've had enough of it up there
  12. Emi off for violent conduct? I'd do more damage if I dropped a bath sponge on my own foot! And the second red, regardless of the validity, why no looking at the screen for that one Mr Friend? Meanwhile Burnley players laughing at what they've got away with in the first half, habitually leaving something on the man at every opportunity. Wonder why so many players didn't want to extend their contracts there. I'd rather get relegated if than play Dyche anti football.
  13. Don’t mind rivals trying to wind us up after we’ve pressed their buttons, it’s fun, after all that’s what we used to do with visiting fans on the terraces before we got separated like cattle. Don’t mind lazy pundits making assumptions about my club, they’re just showing themselves up for what they are. Don’t even mind relegation, though I would’ve been curious about what we might have done with the second season Prem money. But every time we get a setback I really resent people on the street who know more about cup cakes than football making patronising noises implying that it’s only a game, we’ll grow out of it and quoting some random cliché (which one of those lazy pundits dribbled out months ago), as if it’s some kind of profound universal truth which we’re too simple to grasp. That’s when I remember why I needed fencing in. Stuff them. OTBC.
  14. I'm a glass half full man, one of life's optimists, but I can't watch this, pants beyond words. But TV banter? Dear old Glenn says the planning starts now for next season - bit late with that thought, running football clubs has changed a bit since his day! Oh well, champions next season …. as I said, glass half full🤩
  15. I have a watch which hasn't stopped too 😀
  16. Not that it'll make much difference but how only FOUR minutes of stoppage?
  17. Adam is going to be the business - he's the one we simply cannot lose!
