I should clarify, pegging as in cribbage. -

Might be easier to hire a press hall, buy a few tons of newsprint and print the Pink Un again. -
Ticks a lot of boxes and his background could make him of interest to our American investor. No idea what work permit issues there might be now though – anybody?

Could we be on the brink financially?

There’s likely to be a point when the costs of keeping him outweigh those of getting rid. The money maestros on here are far better qualified to quantify this than I am and some of their calculations will inevitably be influenced by probabilities rather than hard data, but I suspect that tipping point is fast approaching if not having actually been reached. A key factor is that it is not too late to rescue the season but how long can that assessment hold good? -

One of my favourite football pi**heads on tour memories is of watching a Newcastle-Liverpool match in a bar in Torremolinos (I think – they all kind of merge into one place after day three). We fielded a drinking team of about 20, mostly Geordies but with only a couple of them wearing their colours, the rest of us being a mix of Norwich, Sunderland, Wolves and Swindon supporters. A plastic Scouser came in with his Barbie girlfriend to watch a demolition job and early in the game he leapt up to shout foul as Bitey Man hurled himself to the ground for zero reason, but he was a bit slow as the rest of the bar, including Malaga supporters, Germans and Welsh had already burst out laughing at the silly little cheat. Barbie ran out of the bar to keep up with her daftie boyfriend. -

Our players responding to a fan in this way is always great to see. Doesn’t happen at every club. OTBC -
What a let down. Was so hoping for Brighton away and another wonderful Billy Ballon d’Or troll-fest. Have you seen his stats per second in the cups this season? The arguments about his quality could go on for at least, oh 13 minutes. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

If you want a manager out of the left field...

Well if I was a player and that was screaming at me from the dug out I’d fill my pants and then do what he says, absolutely would not be taking a breather mid-game. Brilliant post TVB (with some great one-liners in there), and maybes ….. in football no happenings are strange any more. What a great movie it could make too – something which may appeal to our American hinvestors. -
Great analysis Barham.

Attacking set piece coach has to be a carp job, one of the worst in football, right up there with Derek and Clive’s picking lobsters out of Jayne Mansfield’s b*m. Come up with a cracker and thanks to cameras from every angle and everyone having a mobile, including Stewart Lee having someone else’s stuck up his b*m, and the whole football community knows all about it in about 30 seconds (30 minutes if you’re on iFollow), so then you have to go in to work on Monday morning and come up with another cracker !!! Can remember back in the 60s a cute little step-over routine at a free kick on the edge of the box which ended with right-half Mal Lucas absolutely smashing it into the top corner at the Barclay End. At the time I assumed that we were watching that being tried for the first time, but really had no idea if it had already been used away from home half a dozen times …. and there’s a good chance the away dug-out had no idea either. After a few games of watching the same trick tried and it almost working there were ‘not again’ groans in the Barclay, which may have had as much to do with us wanting to see something new as with the idea that scouts from other clubs had picked up on it. Not sure if I can remember where I’m going with all this, but tell you what, this Jameson’s is going down well. Happy Sunday everybody.
