  1. Not good having Zimmermann booked so early in games.....
  2. If these big bollox clubs are incapable of producing their own then they should have to pay heavily towards Norwich’s production line. £20m..and form an orderly queue.......
  3. Unfortunately, one of the games he misses will be the FA Cup 3rd round tie. At least they should be tested at Blackburn New Year’s Day.
  4. Would gladly accept no additions to the squad if it meant Aarons stays put ( and none of this sell now and loan back nonsense ).
  5. It doesn’t matter what formation you play with when you’re conceding goals for fun at set-pieces. That said, we should be looking to reduce the number of corners and free-kicks we are conceding. Moving to a back three at home is surely worth a go, as the number of goals being conceded could hardly be worse. It might help to confuse the plans of opposing managers for the first few games. As someone posted earlier, a back three of Klose, Hanley and Godfrey would enable Godfrey to push into midfield as and when. Something has to change.
  6. Let’s be honest....we had the one goal advantage with not too many minutes left. The Norwich coaching staff had an equal opportunity to instil upon the players what was necessary to close out the game. Farke could/should have brought Hanley on to stiffen the defence. Although the defence is coming under question, Pukki was the player who had the chance to clear the ball for the first two goals. The third goal was a collective Keystone Cops. The fourth lays squarely on Zimmermann, who wasn’t deemed fit enough to play just a few days ago. Hard to pin any blame on Krul. He made several excellent saves against Forest on Boxing Day. However, it would be nice to see some performances aka David Marshall for Hull against Leeds yesterday - a clean sheet well and truly earned.
  7. “ I feel for Norwich, they didn’t deserve that” seemed a genuine sentiment....
  8. I can’t see Stiepermann being moved, he’s playing out of his skin in the No.10 role. If we haven’t a clue what Farke will do, then at least neither does Lampard. Just need to put a very tight leash on Wilson and not give any soft freekicks away outside th3 penalty area.
  9. Granted loanees are a part and parcel of football, but at least half the Championship clubs chasing promotion have become heavily reliant on players owned by Premier League clubs. Halfway through the season and the same names keep cropping up week after week - Barnes, Gayle, Wilson, Mount, Abraham, Bolasie, Wells, Afobe - all players loaned from the PL. As a rough guide, the goals contribution from loanees are as follows:- WBA - 44% ; AV - 42% ; Derby - 34% ; QPR - 28% ; Boro - 20% ; Stoke - 20%. The five goals scored by Justin Rhodes sets the figure for Norwich at 12%, (although obviously not loaned from a PL club). Only Leeds, Forest, Birmingham, Sheffield United and Swansea are playing without a huge 'leg-up' from the PL. It makes it all the more rewarding that Webber and Farke have progressed so dramatically without exploiting the loan market this season.
  10. Lolley looks a handful and Lewis will need a hand to keep him quiet. Derby are heavily reliant on their loanees. A bang average side without them. Good result. Always better to have two points distributed instead of three.
  11. It was good to see Godfrey and Hanley looking useful replacements for the last half-hour yesterday. Hanley particularly looked ‘up for it’ when he came on. Action in the January transfer window not looking desperately necessary with the likes of Leitner, Maclean and Klose currently out of the team. Just need to hold on to what we’ve got!
  12. I’m not sure Norwich are getting the good luck.....more like WBA......
  13. Half-time observations:- WBA’s attempts to play out from the back are laughable. The three key players - El Ghazi, Barnes and Gayle, are not owned by either club. God forbid that Bolassie and Abraham are involved with the next goal.......
  14. At least the sky sports presenters can **** themselves for a few hours whilst their investment in Leeds has finally paid off. The downside, of course, will be the dull as dishwater interview with the Leeds manager/translator. Yawn......!
  15. The pitch looks rather sticky /heavy - unlike the billiard table that they’re playing on at Elland Road.
  16. After their 7th place finish last season, Burnley fans could have been forgiven for thinking their team was a well-established PL club. Their current position of 17th is a dramatic change of fortune and they are clearly embroiled in a relegation battle. Fingers crossed that Joe Hart remains in goal for the rest of the season.....
  17. Norwich have momentum. If it wasn’t for Derby’s somewhat fortunate late equaliser and a stellar performance from an England goalkeeper ( plus the unfortunate own goal), Norwich would be on a twelve match winning run. Farke’s team has developed enormous self-belief, allied to a will to win and their style of play now produces types of chances that defences are struggling to cope with. 23rd, 19th and 22nd are all there for a reason. Strike whilst the iron is hot - blow them away and start building a cushion.......
  18. If things continued as they are it would be fitting to have ‘The squad of 2018/19’ as an option on the voting paper.
  19. 1) Would they have likely been more effective in the PL had they moved to the same club? 2) Would you swap them tomorrow for Hernández and Buendía?
