  1. The other side of this is, what if we don't get promoted? Chances are that several of the players we've enjoyed this season will be off. If silly offers come in for Aarons, Lewis, Buendia, Leitner and Godfrey, yes we'll have plenty of money, but little chance of promotion next year while another re build happens. The Club has to take its chance now, give them a free hit next season and if we're relegated we'll have made a lot of money, the best players will be picked off anyway for a good profit and we start again financially secure. If we survive, well that's for the future...
  2. Anytime we let in a goal is an important time. Is that right though? Surely our opponents are doing everything they can to score as well. I agree with the second comment.
  3. If we beat Leeds and get a better result than them during the 1p5wich game we could resurrect 'Top of the League at Carrow Road '
  4. .... sitting on the fence BigFish?
  5. You could argue that but how far back do you go? Was the pass to Howson under hit or over hit? Was that player being tackled at the time, forcing him to hurry his pass? Yes, there are times when it's easy to point the finger at one player, this wasn't it. Back on topic, most around me were on their feet at the decision, the young 'un, who had seen it coming apparently, made no reaction at all, maybe he was a Leicester fan trying to go under the radar.
  6. It's amazing how quickly people forget, we've got very little to spend and we need a 'keeper. We took a punt on a player that's been out for a while but has heaps of experience, given the age of our back four this season I think he's a great choice. Yes, there's been some errors along the way but for all the criticism, and there's been quite a bit, no one has come up with a better option.
  7. This is right, do you not think that our opponents have a game plan? that they come into a game with tactics of their own? Sure we've conceded on the stroke of half time a little too often but with possibly the youngest back four in the Division, currently lying second, is it necessary to find fault in what is a perfectly acceptable result?
  8. That's right ICF, we've lost once in 17, that more than a third of the season. The way some are talking, you'd think our form had gone off a cliff.
  9. Grew up in the East End from the age of 10, went to Millwall regularly from 74-78, it was lively every week. You'd hope that it would be over by now, clearly that's not the case. Not going because of events yesterday is understandable, given the choice I'd still go.
  10. Back in the mid/late seventies I'd go to London games on my own and if I'd brought my boots, I would have been on the bench such was the poor level of traveling support. However I've always preferred away games because in recent years we've got a much better following, they're far more vocal and there's nothing better than seeing us win away.
  11. Agree with that Zac,when you consider that we're without Klose, Tettey and Leitner, basically the spine if you include Steiperman who's only just returned. We've been great, playing some fabulous football for everyone to enjoy. Let's not rake over the mistakes of the past in preparation if things don't go our way at the end of the season.
  12. While what you say may be true Purple, the big difference between the Premiership and the Championship is TV rights. In the Prem, even small attendances don't matter (Bournemouth) whereas in the Championship without a major sponsor you're totally reliant on turnover. In 1p5wich's case there attendances have dropped year on year for over a decade. Yes, Evans threw some money at it when he first arrived but successive Managers squandered the chance. Now he's just covering the losses, up to around 90 million as things stand. Next season, with even less TV money, smaller crowds and half the squad out of contract or loans coming to an end they're going to be totally reliant on their youth policy and despite Lambert's claims they can't take a swift return for granted.
  13. The Referee was well placed and there looks like an arm up, perhaps that's what he gave it for
  14. .... but on balance you'd say he's not done a bad job.
  15. Some of them think that they're 'students of the game ' remember sitting next to a young fella against Leicester, Vardy 'tripped' over Bassong's trailing leg as they chased a ball going out for a goal kick. Clattenburg, who has ruined more games than I care to remember, decided to give a penalty. This joker was of the opinion that it was Howson's fault as he'd lost possession on the half way line..... but, as he's not emotionally involved he must be right.
  16. You can wear colours at most grounds if you're sensible, Leeds isn't one of them.
  17. Ray, I think it's clear that Farke would prefer Klose and Zimmerman if they are both fit, Godfrey has come in as cover and has held his own. Hanley got sent off after coming back from injury, an injury that most thought would be a disaster for us. As it turned out, it was the start of our run up the table. It's clear that a player who was seen as a shoe in at the start is now down the pecking order. Pinto the same.

  19. I like this, all the whinging on here, picking fault in what is a perfectly acceptable result. Criticism of Farke, Buendia, Zimmerman, the list goes on yet despite stellar performances all over the pitch this season, there's almost an air of entitlement creeping in.
