Leeds v Millwal ..any result isnt bad for us
York Yellow replied to Barclaybred's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
i would like to have an 8 point cusion on leeds before saturday but i still think Millwall are a good side and i think they can get 3rd maybe second if leeds slip up! So probably a draw would be best -
Would you say we need about 3 more wins?
York Yellow replied to Chris.'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think 3 wins will be enough, obviously I would like more but think 3 more wins and a couple of draws. We should beat tranmere and stockport and if we draw with leeds and leeds dont win against millwall, i think we are nearly champions. Charlton have got a terrible run-in and with them not winning against gillingham, i can now see that leeds will get second. I think millwall could be 3rd and charlton drop down to 4th. -
Any ideas on how many we have sold for Huddersfield ?
York Yellow replied to Chris.'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I''m going [Y] Should be a good game and lets get behind the team COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!! -

The oldham game had a great atmosphere and well done everyone who got behind the team, we made it seem like a home game! Just looked at the attendace, it didnt seem like it was only 5,344 to me
I thought it was a quality day out. It seemed odd that they decided to put police all the way along the front of our stand as if a pitch invasion was invitable. I dont think anyone sat in the front 3 or 4 rows anyway! I did enjoy rushing to the front to celebrate with Holty though. What a legend. it is quite an odd ground with that random building sandwiched between the main stand and the away fans. I think it also short sighted to criticise Oldham''s attendances when you consider what they are up against in the surrounding area. It should be remembered our support stems from the fact that we are the only professional club in our county. As someone else said it was really cold on an average sort of day. So when there is wind and rain about it can''t be the nicest place to watch football.
No I wasnt critising their attendences, I just thought that there was a lot more supporters at the game than there actually was

I think 5 points would be enough but would like 2 wins out of the four Vital that we dont lose against leeds but a draw would be allright at Huddersfield as leeds drew
-
yeh one side the ground had no stand and the tv cameras were on scaffolding the sooner we get back to the championship the better, most of the pitches in league one are awful (Stockport)

What was the formation today?
York Yellow replied to Robert N. LiM's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
4-2-3-1 I assume it worked as we won!
I went ot the game and it didnt work that well Martin played on the left for most of the first half and didnt look comfortable It was better when Martin switched into the middle and hoolahan went on the left -

Back from game - review
York Yellow replied to Jon Moorhouse's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yeh i agree with that. Martin was poor especially when he played wide left early on!!! Oli should have scored in the second half but looked lively Rose did OK but was caught out a couble of times Nelson HOOFED a couple into the stand but otherwise did OK Overall a good perfomance against an oldham side that didnt look too bad -
Team for Oldham...if fit
York Yellow replied to still holding out for new heroes's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
P.s: I don''t see peoples problems with Gill... Last time he came on as a sub he did well.
Yeh I agree with that I saw him come on against Millwall at home and he looked ok not great at getting forward but he does shield the back four well -
Have Norwich been getting 'the rub of the green'?
York Yellow replied to NCFCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
some recent results have been a bit close Leeds fans are moaning about last minute goals and us being so lucky, but surely a good side that can win the league wins if their one nill down or not playing so well!!! The last couple of seasons we havent had the rub of the green so we should enjoy having it while it lasts -
Please learn from that Lambert...

TOP SIX PREDICTION....
York Yellow replied to Tony DaWonderful's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Norwich Col Leeds Charlton Swindon Huddersfield -
I heard that lambert is preparing two different teams depending if russell can play. I would like to see mcnamee playing and could see him in the same team as Hoolahan because recently we dont have that much width and I feel that we can score goals from crosses Rose Nelson Doc R.Martin Hughes Smith or Russell Mcnamee Hoolahan Holt Martin If russell doesnt play then i would move Korey to where Hughes is
-
can you have mcnamee and Hoolahan in the same team
York Yellow replied to woody11's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think we could play hoolahan and mcnamee in the same team with mcnamee playing where lappin usually plays and then the usuall diamond. I would try this out maybe at home against a weaker side and see if it works. The problem is we have no width. I think if we had a decent winger like mcnamee putting crosses in then we could score more goals. Potential team for tommorow (normall defence) Hughes Russell (if he can play) Mcnamme Hoolahan Martin Holt -
3 Game Run That Will Decide Our Season
York Yellow replied to Arthur Whittle's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Those games are very important, but for me the ''3 games that will decide our season'' are coming up RIGHT now. We''re out of form, and dropping points. We cannot afford to go into the games you mentioned without some kind of form, and without points on the board. We simply must beat Southend, Oldham and Yeovil. Anything less than 9 points puts huge pressure on us, but a full set of victories takes us into ''the big three'' with confidence and hopefully a reasonable points advantage.
Yes, I agree with you. Leeds have shown their poor form against not great sides and we must beat these teams in the next three games. If we have the points on the board it takes the pressure slightly off us in the 3 games later on. I agree our form has dropped since Brentford but we have ground out results, which Charlton and Leeds havent done! We have got to be hopeful about Charltons run in and see if they drop points in the bigger games. -

They didnt say ANYTHING about it ! -

1. Southampton will take points off those around us. Charlton, Leeds and Colchester all have to go to Saint Marys and they will do well to get anything there. 2. Leeds dropped points again today, and only just scrapped a draw. 3. We are still top. 4. We are still 4 points clear of the ''pack'' 5. We went down to 10 men, never easy especially against good teams 6. It sounds like we picked it up abit in the second half and maybe would have nicked a draw if it wasnt for the red. 7. Hughes will play tuesday who in my opinion is one of our best players, involved in the dominating midfield at Leeds and turned us around againts Huddersfield. 8. If we are going to loose our unbeaten home run, at least it was against a good, strong team rather than a poor game we should certainly have won! 9. Next match is at home and soon, hopefully we wont have to dwell on this for too long and back to winning ways against a poor Southend. 10. Askou and Spillane are almost back to match fittness. 11. We still have Paul Lambert! : ) Chins up, we cant expect to win them all, but we will win on tuesday! OTBC
No 4 is not right we are 3 points clear!!
He means we are four points clear of third. Spot on Birchfest, no need to panic yet.
Sorry thought you meant Leeds

What's Boundary Park Like?
York Yellow replied to Evil Monkey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

I''m going to the Oldham game next weekend and before I buy my ticket I''m wondering whether to also get tickets for my 6 year old girls. Does anyone have any information on what Boundary Park is like for Away fans - is the stand covered, etc? Don''t wanna get them tickets and have them stood for two hours in the p*ssing rain, basically! Any info would be appreciated, cheers!
No, you''re under cover. There''s some distance between home and away fans so it''ll be fine for kids. Car park is big enough (£3 iirc) but takes a while to clear after the match.
Just wondering, do you know if the car park is behind one of the stands because I have seen it on google maps and it looks like theres a big space for car parking. -
Leeds or Colchester??
York Yellow replied to GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Anyone apart from Leeds. [:P]
Yeh! [:P] They dont deserve to go up with their terrible form and them saying how they will go to the prem. Utter rubbish -
Yeh great night and i saw the goals, how did the keeper not save McSheffrey''s shot!!!! But still a fantastic result with monday nights as well

Good Thumping Soon
York Yellow replied to Yorkshire Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yeah i really want to see a clean sheet with at least 3 goals. Hopefully we can pay back Leeds for earlier in the season and give Oldham (which i''m going to see) a good thumping too.
