2. ☆alysha☆: "The problem is, if we were to buy ''Premier League quality players'' then they would usually either be getting on fine at their current club or would be moving to another for a hefty sum. Or do you mean just players which have played in the Premier League and could be in our price range? If so then we would have to consider why they would be available to us in the first place, possibly played in the Premier League but not Premier League quality? Of course, this is not always the case and we are hoping that James Vaughan who has previously played in the Premier League will be a good bit of business - it is clear that he was highly rated as young player in the Premier League, yet injuries ruined his development with Everton, if he can stay fit, he may be that ''Premier League quality'' player you are looking for. As for the others, who are to say they are not? Every ''Premier League quality player'' was untried in the Premier League at some point, so who is to say if ours are good enough for the Premier League or not; I reckon Lambert will have good idea." yup.  alysha, you might want to make a little less sense in future, just to fit in. :)
3. I think too many people on here are getting hung up on the number of mistakes made being the main factor in whether a keeper is any good or not.  There’s so much more to it than that – positioning, distribution, mentality, reach, 1 v 1s, decision-making… not to mention that confidence and positivity for the entire team starts right at the back with the man between the sticks.  Ruddy and Forster both made mistakes while playing for Norwich, but if you asked me who has the edge in terms of those other factors I’d say FF every time (apart from in distribution and mentality – I really admire the way Ruddy got on with things after a difficult start).  Opening day of the season - Hugo Rodallega sprints past Whitbread, one on one with the keeper… who do you back to make the save? NZogbia lines up a free kick 25 yards out – who do you trust to get his positioning and leap just right to stop the ball heading into the top corner? I think Forster, but I’m sure others will have different opinions. The thing is that we need the best GK available to us NOW.  That may or may not be FF, but I’m pretty sure it’s not Ruddy.  It’s a shame if it blocks Rudd and Steer’s development (though if bringing a new keeper in allows them both to get some game time in league 1 or 2 then I’m all for it), but whoever is keeping goal for NCFC next season is going to be a lot busier than anyone who’s played there over the last 2 seasons.  Making the right signing here will be the difference between staying up and going down, IMO.  If we stick with Ruddy then I’ll be cheering him on with the rest of the team.  And as ever, I trust in Lambert to make the right decision here. Just my 2p – OTBC and all that.
4. almost forgot there was a match tomorrow! i''ll go for an entertaining 2-2 draw.  Holt and Crofts.
This was it: http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/ff-football-forum/84447-chelsea-fc-number-1-a.html And just about every football forum in country got hold of it.
that''s brilliant.  does anyone remember that millwall fan who didn''t understand how a season ticket worked?  god bless the internet.
6. the interesting and brilliant bit from that thread was Thebigfeller''s reply on page 2.   we''ve come a long way...

9. WITS''s posts are normally intelligent and readable - i''m really disappointed that she''s taken to posting unfunny racist carp.  I''m by no means a prude or a member of the PC brigade, but this has no place on the pinkun, or anywhere else for that matter.
10. sorry, thought i''d taken the advert out!  i have nothing to do with the google corporation, i swear!
11. what a weird 24 hours.STATEMENT FROM PAUL LAMBERT Posted on: Fri 07 Jan 2011 CANARIES boss Paul Lambert says he has fully committed to Norwich City - and that intense speculation linking him with the vacant Burnley job is wide of the mark. City refused Burnley permission to speak to Lambert after they decided to publicise their interest in the Norwich boss on their official website late last night. This morning Lambert said he was happy with the Norwich club statement denying Burnley permission to speak to him and placing on record how important Paul and his backroom team of Ian Culverhouse and Gary Karsa were to the Club''s future plans. But after a day of further intense media speculation, Lambert told First News: "I said last week there was nothing in the Burnley speculation. Today I said I was happy with the Club''s statement and I meant it. I can''t stop speculation linking me with other clubs but I''ve said on numerous occasions before that I am happy here and that is still the case. "The players and the fans have been tremendous for us since we joined here and what they have achieved over the last 16 months or so is absolutely phenomenal, as I keep saying. "We''ve got a job to do here, starting with an important FA Cup match against Leyton Orient tomorrow and that''s what I want everyone to be focussing on. I want to put the speculation to bed - I''ve never had any intention of going elsewhere and nothing has changed. All the speculation is wide of the mark and hopefully now the rumour mill about the Burnley job can focus elsewhere and we can all move on."
12. without doubt the best post of the day so far.
13. really like the idea of dropping the orchestrated OTBC for a full-stadium chant of ''Paul Labmert''s Green Army'' tomorrow.  should happen.
14. ...also came onto the pitch at the end of the QPR game to wave to the fans - doesn''t do that every game, but then the QPR game was pretty special, so maybe that''s normal behaviour.  DAMN IT I CAN''T THINK STRAIGHT.  Statement now, please.
