  1. If the reason Pukki’s not in the squad really is by his own request it sounds like he’s looking to avoid injury so he can do well for the club - there have been rumours that he wants to line up a January transfer
  2. We signed him for about £9m with a 15% sell on clause. I understand his value would have dropped, but considering he didn’t turn out how I thought he would (just like Drmic) I think it might be best just to get rid of him for what they offer, as I reckon he’s on high wages and I don’t think he has any desire to play for us ever again. As others have said, I think a decent sell on clause would be a good idea as with Galatasary he’ll be playing in Europe and so I do believe they could pump his value back up again
  3. I’m very interested to see what happens to the clubs owned by oil billionaires in about 20 years time. Although it’s believed that our oil reserves will still last for about another 40 years, most countries are already trying to cut down on their fossil fuel usage as much as possible. Will probably still have enough money to run the clubs
  4. I was in my Mum’s car as she drove me and my brother back home from school when I heard about it on Radio 4. As soon as we arrived home we turned the TV on and watched it live
  5. I think you’re right. We had no option but to sell him as he said “I won’t be here next summer”. Had we not let him go I think he would probably have only shown no desire to play, and been similar to what Cantwell was like last season
  6. I’ve been very impressed by his performance so far considering he hadn’t played for ages, although I think he does have 118 PL appearances to his name. As others have said, the World Cup break will be an excellent time for him to get back to full match fitness as I’m starting to think he could make difference to the team
  7. Just bad losers. We should have been awarded a penalty before their penalty claim. Wasn’t there also a early on in which they should have had a player sent off for a foul on Sargent and we weren’t even awarded a free kick?
  8. Not yet - it’s way too early and I don’t feel he really started making an impact until recently. Similar case with Hayden - although he’s done quite well since his first appearance, you wouldn’t make a decision on a player after just a few games would you? There’s still another 26 games to play!
  9. I think it's very debatable. Although I'm convinced that he would get us straight back up, I think the main problem with him was he has a very attacking style of play, which doesn't suit us in the PL and a big change in the style of play suits neither the players (as they're not used to playing it) or the manager (as they're not used to using it). As a result of that I think it's better for us to get promoted by a manager who has a bit more defensive style of play (although not one who parks the bus)
  10. I do seem to recall whilst watching Soccer Saturday one afternoon an announcement being made that a game had been abandoned as there had been something like 7 dismissals and there were no longer enough players left on the pitch for the game to continue. It was a long time ago (c 2007/8?) and I can’t remember who the teams were though
  11. I’m amazed how anyone would be inclined to take up the replacement manager role at Watford, considering everyone must know how vulnerable the job there is. I suppose it probably wouldn’t matter if they’re unemployed though
  12. Was convinced he would. Poor in the first few games, but then all of sudden has changed into a completely different player and thoroughly deserves to in my opinion
  13. I know, and saw an article on Facebook saying that FIFA have already been warned against it as their human rights records are appalling. They would also have to play it in the winter again which in general is a disruption to the football league
  14. I love the goal music and have done for years - I even have it as the default ringtone on my mobile. Certainly want to keep it
  15. Wouldn’t say no to signing him on a pay as you play, it’s just I still can’t see how we would be able to afford his wages - would he really be inclined to accept wages of 20-30k p/w?
  16. McGovern - I think we can all agree he will retire next summer, as he’s been working on becoming a coach and 38 as it is Hugill - I’d definitely say no to Byram - I think he’s debatable because of his fitness issues McLean - Already 30 and not PL quality. A first team regular though, so would keep him Hernandez - Still only 29, but not PL quality and seems to have fallen out of favour. Would replace him with Rowe Sinani - Would keep him as he’s looked quite impressive recently Cantwell - Would keep him, the whole question is whether he would be inclined to sign a new contract though Dowell - Only signed him 2 years ago, and is still young. Would keep him Pukki - Although I was originally considering offering him a new one I think I’d wait for a bit as he seems to have got off to a poor start. If he does get offered a new contract I’d only have it as backup though, as he’ll be 33 when the season ends and so I think we need to get the likes of Sargent and Idah going
  17. Sunderland have confirmed he's in talks with Stoke. Perfect timing, as the caretaker manager would have been in charge for less than 24 hours when the game kicks off tomorrow
  18. Plenty of people have said they never want to see us promoted under the current ownership model again which is understandable, but I don’t care. The Grant-Roeder-Gunn era, when we were just a bottom half Championship team was thoroughly miserable and what you have to bear in mind is prior to promotion is you will see a great season in the Championship
  19. Same team as Huddersfield, although if Byram is ready to start I would bring him in for Gibbs and move McLean back to DM
  20. I’m expecting Rashica to do great for us this season but he’s yet to impress me, although it’s still very early on. I was really pleased with how well Sinani did out on loan last season and thought that he should do quite well this season, although for the first 3 games Rashica was my first choice. All Rashica has really done so far this season is assist Aarons’ equaliser against Wigan. Sinani made his first start for us in the cup last week scoring the first goal and assisting the second, and I think deserved to replace Rashica in the starting XI last night. He soon proved it as well, crossing the ball in for Sargent’s header before firing it home himself 10 mins later. Although things may change, as it stands Sinani is ahead of Rashica in my starting XI
