If you were City's opponents, how would you play?
NavMan replied to a1canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
In first gear - this would still guarantee a win -
Well so the Sunday People say anyway - however, according to the Sunday papers every week there are hundreds of players on their way to different clubs - most of which do not come to fruition ??

january signing rumours begin
NavMan replied to barclay4ever's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
They are just what they are - rumours. -
To be honest I firmly believe that any rebuilding of this side will have to be done via the selling of Earnshaw - do not believe for one minute that we have the resources to fund a three or four player incoming without any resources from player sales and Earnshaw would bring us in the most wth around 4 million. A two million striker would then leave two million on two other players and hopefully with the selling of others that do not cut the grain here would then provide enough for another player of decent quality - we shall see

Probably saving the money spent on loan wages until January when he can buy and possibly loan but dont quote me on it.

I notice the Radio Norfolk interviews with Peter Grant are just as inept as the ones with Worthington - no mention of youngsters not being given a chance despite our injury crisis and also no questioning of the abusrd player positions yesterday. When Grant blamed totally the players for this performance surely that was a good lead in for the interviewer to say ''so you dont think anything was down to the players playing out of positions''. Dont think this would have been too harsh given the circumstances of just being trounced by an average team.

It is like my earlier posting when it says ''Docherty Ready for War'' which if you actually read his interview he does not even mention the word War. Surely this only fuels the other team up when they read things like this because we are portraying them as a group of thugs who just want to go out and smash their way to a victory. Also it makes the player concerned look a right fool because this so called War ended up in a 5-0 thumping.

Stoke v Norwich - Match Thread (with team line-ups)
NavMan replied to Pete Raven's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well thats that game set and match then - unless our dynamic strike force of Dublin can come up with a hat trick - Rudolph - such an optimist -

What about the option of playing with Jarvis and Eagle though - something our new manager has not gone with and something that Worthington was berated for not playing the youngsters - still all too easy to blame Worthington I guess -

Although I would love to see it can''t see us getting anything from this game. -
Is it Grant or is it the Media?
NavMan replied to Tom NCFC's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My dad made me laugh yesterday - I asked him what he thought of our new manager and he replied ''he has too much yap'' -
Always worries me when I see headlines like this cos invariably we up with a good tonking.

Grant. too critical of players?
NavMan replied to Notts Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think to be honest it is something the players are either going to not mind or hate - I must admit when I read the headlines on the Pinkun today I thought to myself ''nothing like slagging off the players is there'' so if I am thinking it then certainly they must be as well. People talk about this Adie Boothroyd but I personally think he is too arrogant and too much of a disciplinarian - I just hope that Grant does not go the full 360 degree turn from what Worthington was like cos the last thing we need is the players not to want to play for him. -
Despite our great start under Peter Grant I am one of those who is keeping his feet firmly on the ground - just been watching Sky Sports and was reminded that Sunderland won their first game under Roy Kean and have then proceeded to lose the next four. Oh dear - please not us.

Reason to smile... join the bubble...
NavMan replied to mbncfc's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Good post - I too have a good feeling about tomorrow although saying that I also had a good feeling about Cardiff and other games but the less said about them the better. I feel that a new fresh approach could be the making of us and no doubt about it we definately have the players to be in the top six at the very least. So yes I am definately in this bubble and look forward to better things - just hope it does not get burst too quickly though. -
Now the memories come flooding back - My tank top, Birmingham Bags with the pockets on the sides and my orange and black platform shoes - then my mum knitted me and my brother a starsky tie round cardigan - together with the music Sweet, Mud, Rubettes, Alvin Stardust and loads of others this decade was absolutely superb

Why do people even bother to reply to Yellow Fever - Obviously a blue in disguise who is trying at every opportunity to sir up trouble amongst city supporters - stay well clear and do not even bother to entertain his drivel
-
Love it

One for the Web team - why is it that on so many occasions we get the same story on the main page just under different headings - today is a good example with the story of Steve Tilson appearing twice but just under different titles
-
Bowen should take the job on a player/manager role and when winning three nil come on with two minutes left and that way will get his 400th appearance for the club for which he was so cruelly denied.

Good call Duke - I will just say though that at least a couple of them have had experience - ie, Crook, Bowen -

Yes but what worries me is why have we not continued to play as we did in thos first five games - I can see Norwich giving him the job - save them a lot of money - trouble is he was the same coach in the last 5 games as he was in the first and yet we have gone decidedly downhill -
I think you are also forgetting the pay off for Worthy so any money left over from previous sales may go on that
-
Saint Canary - you call him a mercenary wanting a pay day - would you have turned down a 400,000.00 pay off and walk away with nothing - takes a brave man to say he would because I''ll tell you what I would have done and it would not be sitting there 400,000.00 worse off
-
Gutless Nigel..do you agree?
NavMan replied to St.John Cooper's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Gutless players if you ask me
