1. I''ve been saying for months we should go for this guy, he has the potential to be a VERY good player, with the right coaching etc, please be true!
2. I don''t like how the big sides dominate the League. There has always been ''big'' clubs, but the gap has never been so big between those and the rest of the League. Man Utd were relegated in the 80''s, that''ll never happen again unfortunately. We finished 3rd, that''ll never happen again unless a multi Billionaire comes in, but then the success would feel less special. I always like to see the smaller clubs beat the big clubs, but if it affects NCFC in a bad way, then unfortunately, I''ll be cheering for Man U, Chelsea etc a few times this year :(
3. Some nice praise from some of these comments, best away fans at VP so far etc. Nice to read http://www.villatalk.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=71011&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15
4. Did anybody find it strange when there was no speakers in the away end for the music etc, and even when they went through the safety procedures before the game started, they still didn''t have any sort of announcement for us?! I just thought it was a bit weird, because if there was a fire in the away end, it could have been interesting, with 3000 or so away fans in there!
5. So ''I love Leon Barnett, Barnett is king'', you want to drop LB after 1 game because of a few mistakes? Pilkington missed chances at Old Trafford, which cost us, and look how he has responded in the past few weeks. If LB plays poorly vs Arsenal, then drop him
6. We are charging over £40 for some games though...
7. PLEASE say the Rhodes one is true! I''ve been saying most of this season he would be a very good Lambert style signing, and I think he could make the step up like his old team mate Pilkington
8.
David Fox simply cannot be dropped. He provides the balance and calm to the midfield and to a degree our very shaky defence. On that note, I would drop one of the cbs now. Neither have been that great, and I hope we.strengthen there in January.
Before Yesterday, Barnett was the 11th best center back in the Opta stats. I don''t think he was suited to Yesterdays game because Bent and Agbonlahor have 10 times more pace than him, and if I was Lambert I''d had taken him off and brought on De Laet, as RDL has alot more pace than LB.
9. I''d personally loan him out in January to a Championship club that will play him (a side like Barnsley etc), and get in a striker (I''d love us to gamble on Rhodes). If CM fails to have an impact in his 5 or so months in the Championship, sell him in the summer, while we can still make a fair bit of money given his young(ish) age. If he does well in that loan spell, then either keep him for the next season, or loan him for the complete season, this would then have given him 1 and a half seasons experience, and hopefully do his confidence the world of good. He could then come back like a new signing, with a clean slate, and hopefully live up to his potential.
10. I was right at the end (seat 6 and 7) on the right hand side, upper tier, and my shirt still stink of smoke now! I think it was fairly central upper tier
11. Form UFC former champion Rashad Evans. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Aston-Villa-Gabby-Agbonlahor-turns-to-UFC-star-Rashad-Evans-to-prepare-for-Norwich-match-article826412.html
12. Just seen Villa are doing ''4 tickets for £40'' for Tomorrows game, their crowds are dwindling and even season ticket holders aren''t turning up. Could be the ideal time to play them, fans against management, crowds getting lower, but with a loud and big following from the away fans! Come on City!!
13. Tough game, and probably even tougher than Man Utd and Chelsea as these will take us more seriously, as Blackburn did last weekend. Last time I saw us lose away was at Leyton Orient! Ive only been to 10 away games since then, but hopefully that carries on! I''m going with a 2-2 draw, with Bent and Agbonlahor for them and Fox and Morisson for us. It''s one of those games which could go either way
14. Can''t believe people on here actually think Mungo support City. He''s clearly a very, very, very sad binner. ''Anyone who doesn''t walk/cycle to games aren''t a true fan''. So people (I only live in Bradwell, but I still have to) who have to spend money on getting to each game and are prepared to pay the high petrol/public services costs aren''t a true fan? Go back to the sex addicted, gambling maniacs, women beaters boards, and leave us in peace
15. Totally tragic news, RIP Louie. Just glad the Ref has a heart and let Sharp reveal the shirt. The best way for him to honour his son was to score a belter and then reveal a shirt to the nation celebrating his Son''s unbelievably short life. Full respect to Billy, and I can only hope the whole ground, Middlesborough fans included, rose up and gae him full support Tonight. Puts football and all that goes with it into perspective.
16. F*ck off Mungo. I have also got a season ticket, but that doesn''t give me the right to abuse those who A) cant afford one, B) live too far away to get one and C) people who cant go for reasons such as disabilities, working etc. NYCanary lives accross the Pond, and incase you havent noticed, you cant just get in your car to go to games from there. You are not our best fan either. I tried to help him in my response, you just belittled, abused him while making yourself look a grade A Tw*t. To NYC- I would try and contact the club before they go on sale, and explain your situation. They MIGHT be able to assist you
17. Tickets wont even be on sale till mid-late November
18. We are not winning any leagues, we don''t get a trophy at the end for finishing 8th. We are currently performing very, very well, but we can do better. If we beat Stoke, WBA and Blackburn at home (Which we should have done) we would now be 3rd. There have always been big clubs in football, but in the past they would struggle from time to time, and in the 80''s Man Utd got relegated. What I''m saying is that you shouldn''t be looking down at this time of the season, it''s all about picking up points to get you as high as you possibly can. Remember when we finished 3rd in this League? I know that won''t happen this year because of all the money in the top clubs nowadays, but why can''t we push for a top half space? We are doing awsome at the minute, but there is still room for improvement, which is a good thing before I get criticised for somehow moaning about the team, which I''m not doing!
19.
I''m with Pele here. Blackburn targeted him today and he had a poor game. Hoilett is a decent player but I also didn''t think Naughton got enough tackles in - imagine Tierney up against Hoilett and there''s no way he would have scored the first and had such an impact on the game. I don''t think Naughton is quite there yet. I''d have De Laet at right back personally. The defence was pretty poor today though, Tierney excepted. Russell Martin had his worst game at centre back, Barnett was below par and Ruddy was just dreadful. Definitely a point won.
Watch the goals again. their 2nd and 3rd were both scored by the player Tierney should have picked up. MT is a great player, but he should have done better Today. I don''t know how Naughton can be blamed on us not winning. If Naughton put in a few great tackles, you would say he was just having a lucky day. Some people have got to moan, its like the people moaning to me about russell martin when i went to bolton
20. I''ve been very impressed with Naughton so far. He puts his body on the line, attacks well, and can pick out a pass, his work down the right linking with Bennett is top class. If he was much better, he''dbe playing for Spurs and England
21. No what is tinpot mentality is people like you accepting people cheating in games like Samba did Today. I suppose you agree with all the penalties we''ve conceded so far this year aswell? If he was injured, why did he manage to play the rest of the game, and chose to go down only when we were 3 v 2 in attack? It was blatant play acting, he didn''t seem to have a bad injury when out muscling Bennett or who ever it was to score did he?
22. Just seen this on 1p5wich''s message boards: http://www.twtd.co.uk/mb.php?m=v&t=163437#163437 Anybody know what was said?
23. This is one thing which I hate, when people say ''we shouldn''t be expecting to beat these, they are an established club''. No game is easy, BUT, who do we beat then? All sides other than Us, Swansea and QPR are ''established'' in this League, but there are teams we should be aiming to get 3 points at home too, and B''Burn are one of these. We only drew, but in context of the game, it''s a great result. But I wish people would stop treating their club like a small club.
