1. Dual purpose shirt for when he takes over at Millwall.
2.
If Chris Hughton ain''t a black guy please tell me what race you believe he is ? http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/06/06/3152569/norwich-granted-permission-to-speak-to-birmingham-boss? Shoes just how backwards some folk in Norfolk can be !
Born in London, presumably with Irish parentage he is described as "mixed race". Now get this thread dropped, before he sees it and changes his mind about coming.
3. http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2012/06/06/aston-villa-live-updates-from-paul-lambert-s-unveiling-as-manager-97319-31123913/ A bit disappointed that I couldn''t actually watch it, but it all sounds familliar.
4. A Club might changes it''s colours, it''s nickname or the name of the ground. It doesn''t mean the fans have to buy the replica strip, use the new nickname or refer to the new name of the ground does it. It would be interesting to see who would bow to pressure first at Cardiff, if the fans failed to follow the wishes of the investors.  I can actually see no value in christening the stadium anyway. Would you ever buy a product just beause your clubs stadium is named after it?. I could concede the point if Guinness were to sponsor Norwich, but it will always be Carrow Road and the Canaries for me.
5.
Hi all, thanks for the posts ... How do I feel about this, well I am worried, I know that this time its Mcnally choosing the manager which is far better than the prevoius choices. How many times did I want a manger only to end up with a loser or a city legend out of his depth but up for the job. Remember Peter Grant? Bruce Rioch, Brian Hamilton, Gary Megson, and Glen Roeder! I wouldn''t be disapointed with Bruce as the manager as I feel he has a lot of experince and every club is different to the last. Just look at Pardue now at Newcastle and then Churbishly at Charlton vs west ham. Would I prefer a younger "houghton" style manager, well I don''t mind either, feel it could be a great appointment or a out of your depth disaster. As the Europe option, I think its a divert for us to think that this wont be a quick choice then suddenly they will annouce the new Gaffer. In the end what will be will be. Cheers All
Be fair, when we took Bruce Rioch on, it hadn''t been many months since he had been the manager of a tiny North London club called Arsenal. I believe one of his last signings had been someone called Dennis Bergkamp. It was only his refusal to sign a contract with Arsenal that prompted the parting of the ways. Had it been possible to back Rioch to the same degree as Lambert was, who knows what would have happened
6. The way the teams are funded now in the Prem we are only ever likely to see the title going to one of maybe six teams at best. In reality it could even pass amongst one of three, Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd. With Arsenal and Tottenham leading the chasing pack. The relegation battle often seems to be more interesting with the result often being decided on the last day.  If Norwich are lucky enough to survive, maybe more attention could be given to the FA Cup, where with a little luck in the draw it is possible to progress past the third round. Had our ex-manager, who''s name escapes me, tried to compete against Leicester, it is possible that we could even have got there this year.
7. Shame. It was arguable whether he was the right man for the job and obviously you don''t know until he gets a Premiership job how he would turn out. But I always liked Malky, he has integrity not like some we could mention . Perhaps he will get the chance next time, when I hope his Norwich connections are regarded as a bonus and don''t get used as a negative against him just because Bryan Gunn was a flop.
8. No way, I rather suspect that like the rest of us, David McNally would rather be relaxing somewhere, doing very little and looking back at how great the last three seasons have been and looking forward to building upon that success next season.
9. Bonjour mon amis ( That is the sum total of my French). Are you the agent of Rudi Garcia ?. I would not dream of extolling the virtues of our manager , if we ever get another one we wanted to keep.
10. I''ve googled a lot of managerial possibilities over the last few days and found, that on paper, you can make a good case for so many people that you wouldn''t really want to take on. Names like Billy Davies, Lawrie Sanchez, Danny Wilson even Paul Jewell etc all appear to be viable candidates but we wouldn''t want any of them.I remember feeling slightly envious when the binners chose Roy Keane and look how that ended up. Just goes to show howmuch luck enters into the equasion when choosing the new guy.  Let us pray....
11. Nothing to do with it I know, but he simply looks wrong, bit like a fat old woman,if you were a player would you respect him ?
12.
nothing against a foreign manager.... Arsenal weren''t always a top 4 side... mid table before Wenger came along. Martinez has done what Wigan expect of him every season and keep them up... A foreign manager instils a different way of thinking.. lets be honest British football is decades behind the rest of Europe, lets get a different view on things and who knows where we might go! Solskjaer might be a good option, if you want a manager who is "against all Odds" look at the NAC Breda manager too.. smaller club than Norwich  but finished 3rd in the Dutch league in 2008, favourites for relegation every year yet for 11 years have been constant top flight performers and no where near trouble.
Arsenal , did not do too badly under George Graham before Wenger. In fact if George Graham had not had his hands in the till, he might still have been there.
13. Roberto Martinez was born in Spain, but has lived and worked in Britain since 1995. He is not really a foreign manager.
14. One of these days, one of Fergies old boys may make a great manager, I suppose it could be Gary Neville. Maybe it could be Mike Phelan ?
15. Cheap if it keeps us in the Premiership . But would he want to come here ?
16. I laughed when I first saw that he had got a job with the FA. He looked convincing as Hodgson''s assistant last night, almost as if he knew what he was talking about, not like the old bag carriers of the past ie Phil Neill. I suppose he will be favourite to succeed Hodgson when the time comes for Roy to go. P.S Wayne Rooney was an old bag carrier too, or did I read the story wrong!
17.
You could probably buy the whole club for 30m let''s be honest. Rodgers after all the fake blarney yesterday will show his true colours if he disrupts Sigurdsson''s move to Swansea
Bit brutal, but probably true.
18. When you think about it, there is lots of interest in the Norwich job,  all of us on this forum for a start. It would be interesting to know however. just what sort of names really apply for it. I have my doubts whether this kind of job is even open to applications, more likely it''s done by head-hunting. As for all the names being put out by the papers and the bookies, have we ever given the job to a "favourite". it always seems to be a bit of a surprise, or even "Who ?" when Peter Grant got the job.
19. http://youtu.be/MtoM5O0eXvE He can''t fill Dennis Waterman''s Boots, let alone Paul Lamberts. Mind you Ray Winstone as David McNally , could be good .
20. Just goes to prove that Brendan Rodgers has no principals either. Might be worth watching to see who Lambert signs for Villa, perhaps there could be a hint of what might have been ?
21. Who actually chooses the players at Norwich ? Is it David McNally or whoever the manager is ?. Is it possible that whoever becomes manager might want to keep Grant Holt , then what happens.....
22.
At Fulham McNally went for Roy Hodgson didn''t he? It''s not a forgone conclusion we''ll go for another ''up-and-coming'' Manager.
Funny you should mention Roy Hodgson, if England had gone for Redknapp instead, how would we have felt if we could have re-united Hodgson with McNally?
23.
Oh God not Mick McCathy or Steve Bruce, are you trying to make me cry?
Definitely not Steve Bruce, probably not Mick McCarthy, I wouldn''t be surprised if Wolves regret getting rid of him. They didn''t exactly improve once he had gone did they.
24. The trouble with having another ambitious young manager like Lambert is the fact that he too may only see us as a stepping stone to a bigger club and then go. Maybe we would be better off with an older head who maybe has even been fired , but who realises that managing Norwich is a privilege and not a second-rate choice because nobody else wants you. Above all, we want a straight honest talker who will stay with us when the going is good because he can make it even better.
