1. Good luck SDP and all of you PuP''s. Taking note of some of the comments from last weeks thread I''m goign to get my pick in early. Reading Vs Coventry - Home Win Reading are two point off of the playoffs with a W7 D4 L4 record at home. Their record at home has been patchy with some good wins (3-0 win over West Sham) and a mediocre results (a 1-0 revers at the hands of Hull). Cov on the other hand are woeful. So woeful in fact that my mate at work won''t even talk about football right now and barely says a word to anyone on Mondays. Their record of W0 D3 L 11 is certainly relegation form and they will be yet another ex-prem team with a big stadium plying their trade in League One. They have lost their last 7 away games and their last point came in a 1-1 Draw with Doncaster. Davo
2. I''e never seen Hockey play but my friends dad used to remember him fondly. I can''t say I''m too inspired to vote for anyone. Most of my boy hood heroes are already in the Hall of Fame and of those 10 suggested by the club none would get my vote. I have only ever watched the players from Ekoku onwards. As a player Ashton was a class above the rest and Matt Jackson was a good servant to the club before being sold to Wigan but is he hall of Fame worthy? I''m not so sure. As for the current squad/management eligibility for the Hall of Fame should only be allowed once they have either left the club and are in their twilight years or once they have retired. I can see why Drury is being inducted this year as I feel this could very well be is last with us and it''s his testimonial year. It should be like the NHL Ice Hockey Hall of Fame where you are only eligible as a player after you have been retired from the game for three years. On that note maybe I will vote for Hockey. Davo
3.

Out of intert, do those who sit in the middle blocks of the Jarrold have a caveat with the season ticket saying their seat may not be available for cup games?  I believe there use to be back in the days of the old South Stand.
To answer my own question, the 2012/13 season ticket T&Cs state: "Season Ticket Holders are not entitled to automatic entry to home cup ties. Season Ticket Holders will be given an exclusive period in which to purchase their designated seat for home cup ties, subject to the allocation of tickets to the visiting team. Thereafter the Club will offer any unsold seats for general sale."
Don''t let that get in the way of people''s self entitlement that those are their seats.   If the reason given was to do with the trouble in couple of years ago imagine if we get through and play someone like Tottenham at home where the Norwich City’s Safety Advisory Group wouldn''t ba able to use the same excuse and I can imagine they would like to bring a large following.   Davo
4. It was £25 for the last round. Sure Leicester are a league below but this is a round further. Add to that the fact that this will probably be the cheapest game at Carrow Road this season apart from Burnley and it''s not a bad price to pay. Given the demand for this they could of charged £30 and still probably sold out. Davo
5. I''ve always thought he was very good at shot stopping and distribution but not so good when it meant coming off of his line to deal with crosses and he never really seemed to be in charge of his area. Now He seems to have improved in all areas and does seem to be able to come off his line with confidence and take charge of the box. A very steady improvement and if he keeps on this way then we could get to a stage where we sell him for a nice profit right about the time when Rudd or Steer are ready to take over the Number 1 shirt. 6. Hey all I''ve been lax again this week. There''s no excuse other than being busy, I don''t ever look at Bet365 to check for the best odds as quite frankly they don''t mean anything to me as apart from this thread I don''t ever gamble. I am concerned about the weather but in truth I''ve gone for a game I feel will be played. Barca to beat Real Sociedad. Good luck Cosmic and all you PuPs Davo
7.
A lot of teams play with inverted wingers these days so a right footer playing at left back is not a huge issue.
Shack,   This might seem to be nitpicking. I would agree with your statement if you had of put a fullstop after "days" and made it too different statements. However I don''t think you can say just because lots of teams playing with inverted wingers means it''s ok to play inverted fullbacks. When a team plays with an inverted winger it is usually then up to the full back to press ahead and provide the width. One of the best examples would be Messi when he used to play right wing for Barca. He would often cut inside with Dani Alves over lapping and acting more as a right winger than a right back and providing the width. You wuill also see the likes of Ashley Cole being used in the same way.   If Naughton cuts inside like an inverted winger can Surman go on the outside on the overlap? Giving his tendancy to drift into the middle I don''t think so.   However as much as I liek Drury and as well as he has played when he coems into the team I think he might struggle against a quicker Chris Eagles and I would still play Naughton. I would just like to see Pilkington on the left to give us the option of someone who can go ont he outside and cross in from the left naturally.   Davo
8. IT shouldn''t be used as an excuse. Yes it was pretty bad but it''s not like all these players have never played on bad piches before. Holt, Morison, Crofts, Johnson, Hoolahan, Whitbred and Martin would have all played on poor pitches when they were in the lower league.   Ok the opposition aren''t really comparable but look at the Pitch when we played at Colchester that was a hell of a lot worse yet we still won convincingly and I think that''s one of the worst pitches I''ve ever seen.   We were out fought yesterday and that was the reson we lost. If we had of been up for it we would not of been on the end of such a thumping.   Davo
9. I''m really looking forward to this game. I was going to put in an application for the Stoke game but as I can only afford to go to one of these games I would prefer travelling across to our great City than going to the sh!t hole that''s Stoke. Davo
10. Grats Statto it was a great set of picks and congratulations too to all the PUP''s who helped him with those winning picks. Davo
11. I like the Baggies fans. I''ve never seen any trouble in all the times I''ve been there. We aren''t rivals and never will be really so it''s all just friendly banter. Plus our mutual hate for Wolves is all well and good :) Davo
12. I noted yesterday that young Jed was only an inch or two taller than Drury and he''s 5''11 according to the main site. Davo
13. Good evening all I wish you the best of luck Statto and to this end I am going for: Bayern Munich V Wolfsburg - Home Win Bayern are W3 D0 L2 GF30 GA3 at home so far and both or their losses have come against Munchenglbach (currently 4th) and Dortmund (currently 2nd in the league behind Bayern on gola difference) which were both 1-0 losses. Wolfsburg on the other hand have a record of W1 D1 L7 GF9 GA25 away from home. Thier onyl away win so far being an opening day win against mid table FC Koln. With Bayern scoring an average of 3.33 goals a game a home and Wolfsburg conceding an average of 2.77 it looks like a home banker to me. Good Luck all you pups. Davo
14. I''ve just seen my pick was rubbish I would still like to back West Ham if possible, if not then I''ll take a pick for one of tomorrow''s games. Davo
15. I remember going to matches in the early and mid 90''s and sitting in the lower Barclay where all the noise was. I don''t think there was such a thing as the snake pit then it was just part of the City Stand. Davo
16. Good luck Trent and all you pickers. While I hate to go for it I''m choosing a West Sham home win over Pompey who are pretty bad away from home. Davo
17. It''s a hard opne most people will say Wilbrham but whilst he wasn''t a great signing he did play a part in getting us promoted last season. I would say Steven Smith, spent time injured then f''cked off to Aberdeen because he was home sick. Luckily for us he was on a free. Other than that I can''t think of anyone else. even Michael Rose who he got in on loan who wasn''t exactly great played his part in covering for Drury and getting us out of League One so whilst he wasn''t rated on this board he did what he was asked to do. Davo
18. I have to agree that Ruddy was one of the outstanding performers. He was in command of his area and didn''t flap at any crosses and came off his line well which is something he usually gets criticised for. It''s one of the best performances from him I''ve seen and he had no chance with the penalty as it was a clever piece of work from Long. Davo
19. I have to say Surman, one off the line and the opener as well as having some nice touches and passes throughout the game. He made a real difference out there today. Banana boy Jerome Thomas wan''t lucky to not get a penalty he slipped. But he was their best player and it''s good for us he went off. Davo
20. Good luck Mandie and all you Pups. It''s a Tottenham win for me this week. Davo
21. Good luck Graham and sincere apologies for being late. Chelsea to beat Villa. Davo
22. Thank you all for giving me so many good picks. Ok here are my picks: Linfield Vs Glenavon - Home Win (Mr Bump & Mr Chops) AC MIlan V Siena - Home Win (Yankee, Tilly, NYC and Pete) Juventus V Novara - home Win - (Herman, Kathy, Beausant, Cosmic Twin, Legend Iwan) Wigan V Chelsea - Away Win (Boyo'', Duncan edwards, NorfolkChance1, Fellas, Bore Bore Bor, Shack Attack, GingerPele, DDD) Chralton V Oldham - Home Win (Banana, Gregt, LeedsCanary) Woking V Thurrock - Home Win (Graham Humphrey, Statto) This was a lot harder than my week last year because unlike that week when there was no form to go by this time round there are so many good picks for teams in form. Some picks came close (the ones in Greece and Dortmund) but I have decided on these 6. Hopefully they''ll come off. I''m down in London for the day tomorrow so hopefully by the time I get back I''ll still be in with a chance. For reference my pick this week will be a Juve win. I wouldn''t normally go for one quite so popular but as I''m picking it doesn''t matter :) Davo
23. Thank you for the build up Nutty. I''ve been looking forward to this since that ill fated attempt last year, I think I only ended up with 2/6 or something equally as poor. I will be making my selections on Friday evening sometime. I don''t mind who people pick I just want people''s best option. Davo
24. Great work Inchy, a great sert of picks that came up trumps. Well deserved. Davo
25. I would like to think so. Even if he wasn''t a starter he would add some energy late in a game. Davo
