Dont want to drag the tone down ... but, Hucks in a nutshell If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too: If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim, If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same: If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools; If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss: If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much: If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! -

I think Lambert will go soon...
canariesaregods replied to Patches OHoolahan's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Why do people like to whip up a frenzy? The Burnley situation should teach you all that Lambert is straight down the line with these things, he is an old school you get what you see gent. If you trawl through last summers stuff he said very similar then, he just wants to get the maximum budget he can and be as succesful as possible -
Why was the snakepit empty?
canariesaregods replied to canariesaregods's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Dec 1994 i believe -
This is a genuine question, not some poor attempt at banter. Was watching the canary classics highlights of norwich against chelsea, and couldnt help but notice the snakepit was fairly spartan whilst the city stand and barclay were full. Does anyone know why the snakepit was so empty ?

No, we''ve just watched Martin ever since he''s been at the club. I think he''s a better full back than Naughton. Not quicker, but stronger, better positionally, oh, and he creates and scores goals. Give me Mr Martin every time.
IF that is the case, why is it when lambert did drop Naughton and brought de laet in, why didnt martin switch to rb and de laet play cb? That would be the round pegs in round holes approach. Lambert doesnt have any sentimentality and can see martin is out of his depth at rb because he just isnt quick enough. Also, we are playing against some of the very best wide players in the world, surprise, surprise they are going to beat our players. Why criticise?

The lad dominated Nani today, who is probably the best winger in the prem at the moment and on current form one of the best in the world. dont get me wrong i know he blows hot and cold, but Tierney was in total control. The question is, is he good enough to play for england? I personally think he is

Full list of released Premier League players

Jody Craddock, great experience to have around our other centre backs -
Steven Smith

There really isnt much difference between this and the situation lappin was in a few years ago, Lappin also refused to move only because the money wasnt right and now he is viewed as norwich through and through. People seem to forget that this is peoples livelihoods and get caught up in the large quoted figures of the top end players, id be surprised if smith was on more than 4k a week. This is massive money dont get me wrong, but not astronomical and a pay cut would be felt - the guy has bills and a family like all of us -
I''m not wholly convinced by the school of thought that Lambert will sign an experienced gk ''as cover''. I think instead he may go for a keeper to provide real competition and with a point to prove. This group would include ff, lonergan, westwood and loach

I think it''s about getting the right mix of players, we don''t want a team assembled of premier league has beens neither do we have the sqaud to be able to take too many gambles on players that a 6 months - a year down the line will pay off. None of us know who Lambert will sign, be honest who saw fox and crofts last season? From the lists of peoples suggestions and free transfers ive seen muted id go for, Jonathan Greening. Matches Lambert''s leaders mold, will be a benefit to the younger in experienced players and has had succes at this level. Ditto Zoltan Gera, bit of experience, lots of quality across a range of positions and in no way strikes me as a player who is looking for a final pay day. Both of these i believe are free transfers by choice of wanting to play more. In addition i would add the cream of the championship, ala your mcgugans, mills, grahams and sinclairs. Id also be knocking around an older experienced goalkeeper, i think Wolves set a great example here with Marcus Hahneman who had been there, seen it and done it which gave henessey the time to mature into the big match environment

We''re supposed to be playing peterborough at some time i think, Drury''s testimonial i believe. Ive heard from a reasonable source that we''ve agreed to play mk dons as well as part of the deal to take Wilbraham
