What was your highlight of the year?
SnakepitCanary posted a topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Now we are at the end of this year, what was your highlight of the year? Coming 12th? 10 games unbeaten? Beating Spurs, Man U and Arsenal? -
James Nursey Striker Update
SnakepitCanary replied to SnakepitCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I''m not doubting McNally is wrong, but he''s hardly going to say that we are interested in him and have made a bid. If he did it would potentially scupper any deal. Time will tell, folks. It does seem like things are starting to happen behind the scenes. -
James Nursey Striker Update

Looks and sounds a quality striker. Bid rejected already for £2.5 million. Monaco have very rich owners, so it would take a big fee to purchase him. -

So he definitely plays in franc, which rules out various names linked. Chieck Diabate and Toure of Monaco has been linked tentatively. -

I think Morison done a good job today, like many have reiterated. But Kane probably looks a better player as he was running around and making himself a nuisance closing down the defenders. Had Morison stayed on the pitch, I''m sure he would of showed the same commitment.
-
Or maybe they are just good friends and he is winding him and us up? I wouldn''t look too far into it.

In response to my reply about strikers we would like us to sign, he tweeted me. "Hughton got bid in for a French African striker about 6ft 2in, tall & quick & circa age 28 but sadly not got his name!" Fits the Jacob Mulenga bill with that information.

Villa after Morison?! Whatever next?
SnakepitCanary replied to flecky76's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I''m going to be controversial here and say he will be a good signing for them. Lambert got the best out of him at the start of last season. He just can''t play up front by himself, he definitely needs a partner up front with him. Just look at the amount of chances he had against Villa. That doesn''t mean I don''t want to sell him, if we get £1.5-2+ million then definitely sell him and bring in Jelle Vossen/Guidetti. Sell Martin, Ward and Lappin to boot. -
It''s a shame he will be going to the African Cup of Nations, but also if Holt stays injury free it might not be the worst thing. It''ll give him time to settle before the summer.

Next 4 'Christmas' games
SnakepitCanary replied to Muffles's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think we''ll win one of them games, I''m going for 4 points. If we win at least two of them, I''ll be very happy. -
We need to keep exploring the foreign markets in my opinion. I''d go for John Guidetti on loan and maybe 1 or 2 relatively cheap foreign players with potential. Signing Guidetti on loan will allow us to utilise most of the budget on permanent transfers either in January or in the summer.

Africa cup of nations - Bassong
SnakepitCanary replied to The saint's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Christ, just looking at that bbc article. Apparently, Bassong joined us on a free transfer. You''d of thought they would be more clued up about these things. I suppose that an institution that employs Mark Lawrenson are always going to make these types of mistakes. -
Does anyone know how many clubs are going for Category One status? Great news.

http://www.kickoff.com/news/31627/bidvest-wits-goalkeeper-ryan-harrison-says-he-cant-confirm-or-deny-reports-linking-him-to-norwich-city Goalkeeper linked with a move to us in the South African press. He''s English so no work permit issues.

Boring, Boring Norwich...
SnakepitCanary replied to Beefy is a legend's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I''d take a 1-0 win right now. 19 points over 14 games. Not bad going at all. -
Morison Forest bound??
SnakepitCanary replied to colneycanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I can''t see Hughton selling Jackson yet. He used him alot when we were playing 4-4-2 and he was playing very well. It was just unfortunate that the we weren''t picking up the results and we switched to 4-5-1. I know that Morison has been used more since but they have only been sub performances when we have needed to hold on to the ball and Morison nearly joined Forest on loan before the August deadline. -
Sebastian Bassong aka Beast
SnakepitCanary replied to SnakepitCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I agree about us releasing Zak. He was good but Bassong is streaks ahead of him. Let''s hope he doesn''t have the same injury record as Zak! -
We have a top quality centre back in our ranks in Bassong if he keeps these performances up. He''s already my favourite NCFC player. He''s got everything you need to be a modern day centre back. Pace, strength, good tackle, leadership skills. I love the guy.

I''d play a full strength side with Holt and Jackson up front. Lets create chances, score goals and boost everyones morale for Liverpool.

Monday, Thursday, Sunday, must be advantage City
SnakepitCanary replied to Number 9's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think we have a very decent chance. Looking forward to watching a busy Simeon Jackson harassing the Newcastle defence. -
Score predictions for Norwich v West Ham?
SnakepitCanary replied to Ben's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
If we have Johnson & Howson in midfield - draw If Fox & Hoolahan - a win
How does this make a difference? Johnson and Howson have done very good jobs so far this season, it would be very harsh of Hughton to drop them in my opinion. -
Mark Bunn signs from Blackburn

Seems a big price for only potentially two years of service? -
Simeon Jackson
SnakepitCanary replied to curly_whirly_tipz's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I agree with most of the points here regarding his off the ball and hold up play, but he doesn''t fill me with confidence when he has a decent chance. I hope Hughton is looking for a pacey striker who can finish. I''m not knocking Jackson at all, he''s a very useful player to have and he has come along way and deserved his chance in the first team today and probably the man of the match. -
I would of thought it would be lower then that. I''d imagine they sold him to use that money on Adebayor, who cost £5 million. I''ve been on a few Spurs forums and they reckon he isn''t too bad. He had a good first season and was playing regularly but his second season was less successful. He was on the bench for most of the season and when he came on he looked abit clumsy. They say with regular games he could become a very good player for us. He''s 26 so he should have his best footballing years with us.
