1. Is this post a joke? McGovern saved us two points tonight - wouldn''t take him out until he makes mistake or his form dips
 2.
Two points off top well I am afraid after just witnessing that performance tonight then it will soon be ten points off top - outclassed by a Wigan side totally in the second half and how they did not equalise from two chances in the last minute is beyond me - this team for some reason has not yet clicked but they better get their act together fast - apart from a good win against a poor Blackburn I have not seen us play well
What a ludicrous statement. We''re 4th in touch and you''re saying we''d better get our act together. A long season is often about when you peak in form. Utd under Ferguson were atrocious early season at times but scraped results and hit form when it mattered. Can''t argue with results to date - give it a chance!
 3. Free agent - although lazy and probably not for us - can''t believe at 35 with his skill he''s a free agent!
 4.
West Cork Canary - apologies for any confusion - I was responding to West COAST Canary in my post. Cobain - he''s had 6 months grace where he has put in zero effort and consistently played poorly. As fans we have a right to expect better out of our 8million pound signing. I totally understand the point you''re making, but if Naismith was getting it right then no-one would be on his case. If he even looked like he was trying then he''d probably find himself backed to the hilt like Wolfy was for a long period. With due respect, Naismith has chosen a career where he is putting his performance up to scrutiny by thousands every week, I''m presuming you didn''t. If he can''t handle the small print of his job description, then I''m sorry but he is not mentally tough enough for a Championship battle anyway and is better off well away from the starting 11. How do I think jumping on Naismith will be beneficial for NCFC? I think that eventually, it might actually convince AN to drop him, which is what he needs. It will either bring him down a peg or two and make him realise that he can''t keep his place on reputation alone. At that juncture he has two options - he will knuckle down and earn his spot back and start producing the goods to back up his generous salary and large transfer fee, or as I believe is more likely, he will not really be bothered and will f*** off in January to a lower half Prem team who are desperate. Either scenario is better than playing him perpetually when he''s in atrocious form, unbalancing the team, and reducing our ability to win games.
I take your point - personally think that best case scenario is Naismith performing - I respect your view but I''m not ready to give up on him yet; he was better at Everton than he''s shown so far at Norwich; I don''t buy the ''lost his legs'' argument. Mulumbu is a prime example - looked lost last season, I think he''s a valuable member of the squad this season (to date).
 5. Don''t know if anyone on this board has ever had differing experiences of training in their every day jobs..... I have. Example 1: Training was constructive and supportive. If I made a mistake, we talked about it, I put it right Example 2: Trainer was impatient rude, constantly looking to pounce on me when I made a mistake. I was nervous, couldn''t think straight as I was so scared of making a mistake and lost my confidence in what was essentially a pretty easy job by my standards. I left the company. These are both real examples of my experience. Money is irrelevant, it''s about how people mentally react under pressure. Bring it back to football - how do we think jumping on Naismith and booing him every time he makes a mistake is beneficial for NCFC or him reaching his potential with us. I''m amazed how our fans react sometimes without thinking about the outcome.
 6. 28 year old Anichebe worth a gamble? He''s never really had an extended run anywhere - may be a reason for that (motivation maybe)? Or possibly premier league is a step too far for him. If his wage demands aren''t too high an extended run may see him score a few in Champs.
 7. I''m really disappointed but still think our squad is good enough to go up. Let''s re-assess after next two home games. If we''re not in better position, something is wrong - on the other hand, we could be top two in which case the panic subsides!
 8.
The idea that he puts no effort in reminds me of the way Snoddy was treated. In fact many of the criticisms of Naismith are the same the ones made about Snodgrass.
Great comparison!!!! The NCFC fans sucked all confidence from him to the stage he couldn''t put a delivery in because he was so scared of the inevitable slaughtering he knew was coming...... Funny how good his delivery (and finishing) is at Hull with supportive fans!
 9. Having watched him on several occasions, he''s not ready - struggles to impose himself on a game for full 90 and fades in and out. A loan is the correct decision to get him game time and experience. Having said that, I''m staggered its Aberdeen; not a step up from Cov; genuinely don''t think we''ve sent him to the right club.
 10. Some of the responses on this post are ludicrous. Booing one of our own players is completely counter productive, no matter what your view on them.
 11.
Robson-Kanu still free Not really the signing i was hoping for at the start of the window but still on a free played well in Euros not great scoring record AGAIN but 3rd choice ???
There''s a reason he''s still free
 12.
My view is that he should have gone last Christmas. Instead we carried on under achieving and got relegated, finshing below teams with worse squads than us. Sunderland and Bournmouth in particular. Sunderland showed how a decent manager could make all the difference. Martin continually played at centre half, the indecision over Olsson and Brady at left back, preferring Jerome to Mbokani far too often, Wes and Howson played wide, the back 4/5 never being given a chance to form partnerships, the under utilisation of Redmond. The list goes on. Now here we are seeng similar chopping and changing again. Whits preferred over Martin, Mulumbu in and out, Howson inefectual in a holding position and Naismith up front as a lone striker. Now to cap it all we are beginning to show less determination in our play and not surprisingly supporters are showing signs of discontent. AN was a very lucky man to be given the opportunity to be manager of our great club considering his lack of experience and the previous level he managed at. He was even more lucky to stay as manager when he took us down last year despite having better squads than Lambert and Hugton kept us up with. I fervently hope his luck runs out soon before it is too late to rescue this season.
That''s the spirit - don''t hope for wins, hope for our manager to have his luck run out! He''s got us promoted from this league, how anyone wouldn''t give him the next two home games is beyond me. We''re two points from 2nd with several injuries... The next two games will be telling either way. Those that were/are expecting us to walk the league with Neil or anyone else are deluded!
 13.
I''ve just melted down[:@]To be honest we don''t really look like it do we?Lots of time to put it right but the doubts are starting to creep in for me.
Not disagreeing but I think it''s reasonable to give him the next two games - players coming back may turn out fortunes round - if not, there are no excuses
 14.
lets not mess about AN is not getting the best out of players its not no striker upfront RB injured or anything else ALL our players at this club have played at this level so why are they playing so poorly a lot of us saw it last week and the games before that things were not right and all we hear AN talking about i have been let down i have not been backed look at hulls team spirit ! they have not been backed or even got a team really but they work
To put things into perspective, we''re three points off second. Making rash decisions isn''t helpful for stability and doesn''t guarantee results. Next two games will be telling when we have players back and a couple of strikers (today we didn''t have one striker of the required level). If our position isn''t better in two games time, I''ll agree.
 15. Sacking him at this early stage with injuries and only one striker would be a mistake. Let''s assess where we are after our next two games (both at home). Things could look a lot rosier; if we we''re still in a similar position, Neil''s position should be considered.
 16. The messiah Lafferty is on. Hope he scores but personally doubt it!
 17.
It shows AN''s love affair with Naysmith if he thinks he''s a better bet than Laffs up front
He is.... Lafferty is awful. Scored a goal with oceans of space in cup but mainly his second touch was a tackle. I wouldn''t play Lafferty up front
 18.
The feeling I get is that he''s not got much quality but can bully oppositions & is a decent finisher - probably better than Jerome. OK as third choice striker. Or fourth ...
Good finish this eve and wouldn''t take that away from him but he had oceans of space and was one on one with gk..... Jerome would have scored that - hell, I would have got a shot away and I''m not a professional footballer!
 19. Josh looked much more comfortable when moved up front tonight, his movement was more natural, he was constantly on the shoulder of the central defender and almost scored..... Ok, it''s only Coventry but wasn''t convinced when he was on the wing against the same team in the same game and haven''t been convinced by his movement or defensive game on the wing. Maybe a move to striker would benefit Josh''s career - would be interested to see him maybe come in as sub in champs game and play there.
 20. Take away the goal tonight and Laferty''s second touch was a tackle due to his first touch being so poor. Neil highlighted him winning battles in the air..... Personally thought he was mediocre in the air considering his size. Suspect Neil is building him up as he''s resigned to the fact Lafferty will now be part of the squad - which is sensible, if you have a player you may need to use, try and inject confidence into him.
 21. Don''t get people criticising Neil at all. We''ve got 8pts out of 12 with a few key injuries. Keep that up and we''ll go back up.
 22. I''d suggest Hoolahan had a poor game at the weekend and due to age, won''t start Tuesday. Subject to injuries, I''d play: McGovern Pinto Bennett Klose Olsson Tettey Howson Canos Naismith Jacob Murphy/Brady Jerome Id prefer Jacob Murphy if fit - if Olsson is unfit, push Brady back. Similarly, think Pritchard is up there for a start but would have on bench initially if fit.
 23.
If only we had a half decent striker who can run behind and finish? Maybe one who scores for his international side regularly but is overlooked for his club in favour of a youngster whose presence on the bench was utterly pointless?
Lafferty is not a good player - look at his goal record at every club he''s ever played for
 24.

@Indy I think you''re being a bit disingenuous here. I had half a memory of that thread so went and looked it up and lo and behold- you weren''t being mocked for the players not being very good, you were being mocked for suggesting players miles out of our league. Your list contained Isco (who moved to Real Madrid that summer for £30m), Nani (on about £100k a week at Man U) Ter Stergen (pretty much considered the best young goalkeeper around and already being heavily linked with Barca at the time). In fact, having gone through the thread I actually posted basically this same post back then.
I''d argue that there were only 3 main players on that list, that looking back were just too optimistic - Isco, Ter Stegen and Aubameyang.Nani may well have been on just under 100k a week at Man Utd, but considering that they sold him for only just over 4 mil, and with his wages at around 4.8 mil a year at the time, this would have affordable - assuming we were willing to break our wage ceiling and risk such a high earner on the books if things went Pete Tong (although I do think we could have got an easy sale at that point anyway). Are you actually telling me you think that playing for Sporting in the Portuguese league would have been a more attractive choice than starting each week for us in the Prem?I also remember you stating that Nani would be off to Serie A or Spain (or maybe PSG), when in fact he sat warming Man Utd''s bench for a year before he went to Lisbon, followed by a move to Fenerbahce....Let''s also not forget that we were about to go into a summer transfer window with not just one of our largest transfer kittys ever, but on the back of a 2nd season in a row finishing mid-table in the prem, having already attracted RvW (even though that didn''t pan out for us, it was still a BIG signing) and offering a good option for any top player to be pretty much guaranteed to start each week in the prem - hardly an uninspiring lure was it?And as I pointed out back then, even if these players simply saw us as a stepping stone to other clubs - so what? We''d still have had a year or two of genuine quality which we then likely make a fat profit on afterwards! As for not being ridiculed about them not being good enough (or being complete nobodys), let me point out these comments from that thread:"About 4 of all these names mentioned are possibilities the rest are stupid nobody''s you''ve bought on football manager.""I''m not going to pretend I know any players from abroad because I don''t focus on those leagues and I don''t play Football Manager anymore""Who in the *** are the majority of these players? "
This post is ludicrous lol. The names mentioned would not have wanted to come to Norwich. Regarding your point on Nani, signing players like him would put us in a weaker position financially while having a top quality player on our books who in all likelihood doesn''t give a damn. Neil has the strategy correct, look at young hungry players looking to enhance their reputation with a mix of proven experience such as Jerome, Hoolahan and Naismith.
I should clarify by saying, I''m not suggesting Nani doesn''t care about football, just that he isn''t likely to be motivated by playing for Norwich.
