Robert, Did you see the pre-season game last year against Spurs, Shackell had Robbie Keane in his pocket for the whole game and i can hardly remember Keane having a touch let alone a shot. When we played Cardiff at home, he totally dominated Robert Earnshaw, never let him have anytime on the ball and kept him quiet! Shackell has pace and height, 2 things Flem doesn''t have.... yes Flem has experience but Shackell can only get experience if he plays! As for Greeno, i don''t think we should sell him in January! Yes we could spend the money on other players but it''s a stable defence, including keeper, that we really need. Once we stop giving silly goals away then i think we''ll be ok. Chris

To be honest, i don''t think that relegation is the worst thing in the world. I think we''d only loose Greeno, good luck to him. We would have the parachute money which is £6-7m for 2 seasons so even if we didn''t go straight back up we''d have some money to spend on players. We''d still have Hux and we all know what he can do in the first div! I''d love us to stay up, but i''m just not sure where the points will come from this season...... OTBC

I had a change of routine this week as well. Last year everytime i went into the Canary shop in the mall, we never did that well. I hadn''t been in at all this year until saturday when i decided that we hadn''t been doing all that well so what did it matter! I stood in there and watched a bit of last years season review DVD, the 2-0 win to Wigan, the 0-1 to Reading and the 5-0 to walsall. Seemed to do the trick!!

At last, someone speaking sense! I just can''t believe we now have ''Worthy out'' and ''Delia out'' posts now. Nigel is not stupid, he will learn from that game and hopefully he''ll change the system. When we went to 4-4-2, we looked so much better, alright we had 2 shots on goal yesterday, one on target and the other not, but Liverpool looked class yesterday. They have spent £24m on 2 players this season!! We''ve probably spent £2m at the outside!!!!! STOP MOANING!!!! GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND RESULTS WILL IMPROVE!!!!!!!!!!! The next 10 games are the ones when we should be picking up most of the points!! What is wrong with people, So what if we go down this year!! The football club won''t stop existing, we''ll have 99% of the players still here, maybe not Greeno, but it''ll mean we''ll be in a stronger position next year to come straight back up and have a load of money to spend on players!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought Arsenal were excellent today. Shame about the really cocky supports, can''t wait till the Arse get beaten, they won''t be singing ''We are unbeatable'' for a while any way. I also thought that Safri looked excellent today, when he came on we seem to have a bit more vision in the passing and him, Holty and Frannie bossed the midfield. I think he should start against Spurs. I''d also like to say to the people who were sat next to me and behind me, we were playing arsenal, no-one has beaten them for 44 games now, so stop complaining about our defending as no-one else seems to be able to defend well against them. Please also stop booing Matt Svensson, he''ll get better alot quicker if we support him instead of booing him!! Sorry this has turned into a mini rant, just needed to say that! Chris OTBC

i agree with you shady. I saw him play against tottenham in a pre-season last year and he had Robbie Keane is his pocket as well. But i do think we still need more cover, with more experience. I think that Shackell will be a superb defender but needs a bit more time and experience.

Just read on the BBC site that Man U are looking for a season long loan of Nicky Butt, i know we already have a loan and can only have one more, but he''s a class player and would probably want a challenge. I guess his wages might be a problem.

Just read on the BBC site that Graveson will most likely be moving from Everton, I personally think he would be a great addition to the squad. He was the best player on the park when we went to Everton for the FA cup. Usual problems of fee and wages but i think a good signing if we could get him.

just reading the 606 message boards: I heard a rumour that Pennant will be on a year long loan at Norwich City next year. They will also try to loan Joe Cole from Chelsea for the season. I can (maybe) see Pennant coming for a loan, but i think Joe Cole is just cookoo land thinking really!!!

How about David Johnson. From forest?! He''s a quality striker, just look how much Forest have missed him. Also i think that Tim Cahill from Millwall would be a good signing. great midfielder. Does anyone think we could get Andy Johnson from Crystal Palace if they don''t go up?!
