  1. I don't think McLean or Lees-Melou played badly, but they were simply outnumbered and overrun at times. We clearly need to do something else against Man City.
  2. Made a hash of his only real chance, and scored from his half-chance. You'd take that from a striker any day.
  3. Man of the match for me. Booting the ball out for a throw under no pressure when he could've picked it up was bizarre, but the saves from Zaha and Gallagher were top drawer.
  4. Cheers for that. I didn't realise that was the full quote as I hadn't seen the video; I just read the Pink Un article with the quotes. I agree, it is definitely misleading, and intentional I'd imagine.
  5. For the first time, I now believe Everton are in the relegation battle. They were awful against us and very poor again tonight.
  6. Even back in September, surely Ashworth was miles out of our league? He has had an excellent reputation within the game for many years.
  7. Depends which way you look at it. Took Leicester into the Premier League, had four top ten finishes, won two trophies and took them into Europe, won three SPL titles and three Scottish cups in five years at Celtic despite Rangers being the dominant force when he took over, and then achieved three consecutive top-six finishes with Villa. He spent a lot of money there but they made a combined profit of over £30m on Milner, Young and Downing. Since then, he has failed everywhere and one of the major criticisms at Forest was that he wasn't prepared to adapt to modern football.
  8. He was a very good manager in the 90s and 00s but as has been said, he's nearly 70 now and is a good decade past his sell-by-date. No chance.
  9. PSG to beat Lille at 17/20 looks quite generous, so that's my tip. For our game, I expect changes, so maybe Dowell FGS at 16/1.
  10. There are always several tickets on the morning of the game, and often in the days leading up to it, if you check at 9.30 when they're released.
  11. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/ncfc-cantwell-on-why-he-joined-bournemouth-8662036 "I wanted to get out"
  12. I suppose it depends what you mean by 'OK'. I'm disappointed that we didn't bring in a defensive midfielder and/or an attacking player, but I'm not exactly furious either. Personally, I would've liked to see us get a guaranteed fee for Cantwell (either a permanent deal or loan with obligation) and then use that money for a defensive midfielder, and then let go of Gilmour and bring in an attacker on loan from a Premier League club.
  13. But again, why are you including Bournemouth's option on Cantwell in the 'money in', but not including our options on Kabak and Normann in the 'money out'? It's almost like you're attempting to twist the story in a way that suits you, which is worse than the Pink Un, who even you admitted are being 'factually correct'.
  14. That's a new one on me; criticising the media for spreading 'true news'. And if you're including Cantwell's potential future fee on our incomings, surely you have to add on the best part of £25m to our expenditure for the options we have on Normann and Kabak? You can't have it both ways.
  15. I think that's a little harsh. Six goals from midfield in a very poor side that finished miles bottom is a very good return.
  16. Indeed, it was becoming a bit of a circus. The difference between Cantwell and, say, Max Aarons and Ben Godfrey is that the latter pair are motivated by their football career, and being the best players they can possibly be. Cantwell seems to be motivated by fame and fortune, with football being the vehicle that got him there.
  17. Is it possible to not be a Cantwell hater, yet still recognise this is for the best? Clearly a talented player, but unfortunately that isn't always enough, which is a shame as it's always nice to see local players in the side.
  18. In the French Cup, Toulouse, who are top of the second tier, are at home to Versailles, who are top of their section of the regional fourth tier. Home win at 2/9.
  19. Very little difference between Kane's today and Pukki's on Friday. In fact, Pukki's nudge was probably stronger. Its the lack of consistency that annoys people, but at the same time, both decisions were left with the on-field referee without VAR overturning anything which is what we want, where possible.
  20. For those keeping score, Arsenal are level and Napoli are winning, both at half time. Real Madrid kick off shortly.
  21. Anyone fancy this fella? Experienced, 77-cap China international. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wu_Xi_(footballer)?wprov=sfla1
  22. Well, in some cases, VAR is needed. Lots of people nitpick about the things that VAR get wrong, but I saw this video the other day and seeing incidents like the ones with Vokes, Nani and Oxlade-Chamberlain make you realise why VAR was brought in. https://youtu.be/x5kajRbUMEI I genuinely don't understand the question. But like I said, there are some people who criticise everything VAR does, and those people would use the incident as an anti-VAR weapon for weeks. 'Man City were given a free kick, why weren't we?'
