  1. At this rate, he is going to unite Norwich and Ipswich fans in thinking that he's total waste of oxygen. Which is a shame, because he was one of the least crap players in our last Premier League season.
  2. Canada should see off Trinidad quite easily at 1/10. For BTTS, the France-Germany friendly should have goals in it.
  3. So what is the connection between Ashley Barnes and Hillsin? The article doesn't say. Is Barnes a part-owner of the horse?
  4. Interesting. A little more information here: https://www.britishhorseracing.com/disqualified-excluded-persons/ It doesn't specify what the investigation was about, but presumably this John Higgins from Devon (probably not the snooker player) was involved as well.
  5. OK, not sure where to start with this, but here goes... Düsseldorf would surely have to be certain that there's a club out there willing to pay more than their option. A second tier German club is extremely unlikely to have €8m, give or take, to spend on a player and it'd be a stretch if they were to be promoted, which is possible but unlikely right now. Otherwise, they'd risk having to sell him on at a loss, or put their future at risk by making such a large investment, which they clearly wouldn't want to do. Unless there's that certainty of someone offering a quick profit, the deal almost certainly wouldn't happen. You also claim that Tzolis might not be happy at being moved on straight away, or might not have the commitment should he move. The clubs who are being linked with him, and who have the money to afford him, are amongst Germany's biggest. The chances of him saying 'nah mate, I don't fancy Bayern, Dortmund or Leipzig, I'd rather stay at Düsseldorf' are nil. The 'ridiculous suggestion' is that he'd turn down such a club to stay at Düsseldorf. Long story short, I'd be shocked if he plays for Düsseldorf next season. The only outside possibility of that happening would be if they got promoted and they wanted to be ambitious by spending big on Tzolis then keeping him. Realistically, the two options are that Düsseldorf sign him to flip him for a quick profit, or that Düsseldorf do not trigger the option and he returns here, in which case I'd say we're likely to sell him for a decent fee.
  6. In loans with options to buy, that's agreed as part of the initial deal. It's purely Düsseldorf's option to trigger it. And as I said before, it's highly likely that Düsseldorf will trigger the option to flip him at a profit, so Tzolis is unlikely to stay there anyway.
  7. At least we'll get our money back. The buy option in the loan deal is supposed to be roughly the price we paid for him, which I imagine will be triggered before Dusseldorf immediately sell him on for a quick profit.
  8. To be honest, we've done extremely well to get 80 posts in and still be this close to original topic.
  9. The size of the land is almost exactly the same size as Carrow Road: The zoom is the same for both images, and as you can see from the positions of Edward Street (top left), Botolph Street (bottom left) and the flyover (running down the right, which you can just see at the top right), the width is more-or-less identical (maybe slightly wider in the middle but narrower in the corners), although Anglia Square is probably marginally longer. Obviously we have to bear in mind that a football ground needs to be a precise length and width, and whilst I'd say that Anglia Square is a great location, it would be extremely difficult to accommodate a stadium larger than the one we presently have, although the architects who designed Brentford's new stadium in a very small, awkward space might be able to be creative enough with it. Like I said before, I'm not very familiar with the Carrow Works site, but isn't the large listed building right in the middle of it? Wouldn't that make it impossible to fit the pitch in with four stands around it? I'm quite interested in the debate though, as Norwich are moving into a new 48,000-seater stadium on my Football Manager save at the end of the season, and I've been wracking my brains figuring out where that could be!
  10. The problem is space. Are either of those sites big enough, and the right shape, to build a stadium bigger than what we already have? I think Anglia Square and the car parks next to it are roughly the same size of our current ground. I'm not as familiar with Carrow Works, but doesn't it have listed buildings on it?
  11. Norwich aside, the fact that more than half of the division have been going at one point-per-game or less over a 20+ game period is remarkable. I guess that's what happens when you have the top seven on over 1.8, but it's still an incredible stat.
  12. Onel demonstrating his strict diet which allows him to run like *** before twattlng the ball in any direction.
  13. I'd also argue that the kits for the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004 are also remembered for having their their own unique identity, but I do agree with your general point. Everything in the last 20 years has been so plain and generic.
  14. I remember looking at the Chelsea side which played in this final not too long ago and thinking what an achievement it was for our boys to win this. The Chelsea side contained Nathan Ake, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen, all first team regulars for top European clubs, they had Jeremie Boga and Ola Aina, who both have around a couple of hundred appearances in Europe's 'big five' leagues plus plenty of international caps for Ivory Coast and Nigeria, as well as two good Championship players in John Swift and Lewis Baker. Chelsea were also very dominant in the FA Youth Cup around that time, winning it seven times between 2010 and 2020, so it was one hell of an achievement for a club of our size.
  15. Whilst Sargent is clearly incredibly important to us, there are two huge caveats. Every club in the division would be able to say 'if we hadn't lost [player] for [time period] then we would have [number] more points'. Every club has injuries to important players throughout the season, and who knows, maybe we won a few games where the opposition were missing a couple of key players, and we wouldn't have won them had those players been available? Also, the period Barnes missed also coincided with Sargent's injury. Our PPG with Barnes is 1.89 and without is 0.8. I do feel that Sargent is more important than Barnes, but Barnes' importance should be understated.
  16. I do get the feeling that as result of our recent dominance over them, and the long unbeaten record in the derby, we have more to lose than they do whenever we play them at the moment.
  17. The nerves would kill me before kick off. I'd hate it, personally.
  18. Another poster pointed it out a month or two ago, and since then I've kept an eye it, and there are enough similarities to leave no doubt in my mind whatsoever.
  19. I saw a stat a week or two ago that said since the Championship became the Championship in 2004, every team that had amassed 76 points after 36 games were not only top, but had gone on to win the league. This season, three teams had 76 or more after 36 games.
  20. Bloody hell, late by a whisker again. I really should start picking on a Thursday, or maybe just retire 35 years early. For stats purposes, Bayern Munich to beat Zimbo's boys.
  21. Not gonna lie, I did think the exact same thing whilst I was typing it out.
