For a defence that kept a clean sheet the previous game v Man City? Sorry rather have Bennett than Bassong any day

The ironic situation here in our favour is Newcastle''s injury concerns play straight into our new formation which ahs worked in the past 2 games, almost a 4-4-2 with Brady and Jarvis providing width. Seems logical to start with same team as WBA, maybe just bring Bennett back for Bassong.

And budget Stan....

Would be surprised if any strikers survive if we stay up. The budget we will have plus the fact none of them look like hitting double figures in a PL season makes me want to see the club invest in 3 new forwards. Possibly keep Jerome as 4th striker, but would want to see some real menace added to the front line, pace and power. It will cost but we need to unearth a Bony or a Benteke like Swansea and Villa did respectively.

Based on what I watched at the weekend, 7 points is very achievable. We seemed to now have a settled spine to the team and if Mbokani can add some goals, we could even win all 3

I have said on previous threads that Olsson should start enabling Brady to push forward. I would also start him as a wing back if we ever used the 3 system again as that would allow Brady to tuck in. Totally agree with the comment re. Howson/O''Neill, again, I have been shouted down for daring to say Tettey is not at the level required in the PL. This weekend has shown that to be the case, good readers of the play, good passers and hold their positions, all of which, in my humble opinion, Tettey lacks at the highest level.

Bamford starts, no Brady or Bassong, Naismith late test, Olsson in, 5 at the back looks like. Could be last minute changes though as fitness tests in morning.

Sad indictment of our situation is that he has probably shown to be our most natural goal scorer this season. IF we stay up a full revamp of the spine of the team needs to take place, which includes a player in the Bony class coming into the club. We need to move all our strikers on and start again.

You may be right about being the best but I suppose that''s kind of my point......... Can agree to disagree though and on this, for me, aggressive and competitive are great strengths, but lacks the technique and positional sense to play this role at PL level. This is not me witch hunting by the way, have felt this all season.

Am I in a very small minority who considers Tettey to be massively over hyped? Granted he works hard and is committed. But was all over the place for the first goal on Tuesday. The reason he gets booked so much in my opinion is that his positional sense lets him down, he is slow and we all know that his passing and control is very poor. For me, O''Neill is a better option for the game we play. I felt before the season started that we needed this area addressing as a priority. We lack someone in there who can dictate the tempo of a game and can just get a foot in, break up play and give a simple effective pass.. I don''t see this in Tettey at this level.

Famous last words but I like it. Leicester play straight down the middle for Vardy and looks like we will double up, Mahrez is left footed right side, so will come into traffic and we have pace wide and Redmond to catch them on the break. Now to execute it....

The team is responsible for defending. I would say we only have one naturally defensive midfielder in our squad, and in my opinion, whilst he has done a sterling job, we will need to upgrade if we want to not only maintain, but improve our PL stay.

Not to pee on your chips Til but AN definitely said after that Bennett was available but not picked as he felt RM was better suited to play against Firmino...

Not had enough time to verify these stats I''ve just seen on Twitter, but if true they kind of back up most people''s logic re Bennett''s performances for us. With Bennett 17 games conceded 19 Without Bennett 10 games conceded 24 As we have only played 23 PL games I will assume Cup games are included...
