1.
This time next year I''ll hopefully be able to replace Sutton with Gary Holt, and Gary Holt with Hoolahan/Surman/Fox.
He''s here, he''s there, he''s every f''ing where, Gary Holt, Gary Holt... I would have to say:                                         Gunn Culverhouse              Malky         Bruce              Bowen Fox                        Crook          Peters                Huckerby                               Bellamy      Sutton   They are all fairly recent, but I didn''t see the many play before these.  I only included Peters as you can''t miss our only player ever to get a World Cup Winners medal!
 2.
Really do not understand why British footballers are getting, quite frankly, ludicrous price tags stuck on them this year, the transfer market is up the creek.
Combination of 2 things in my opinion - first the rules about home grown players, but more importantly, the money of the news TV rights contract is filtering through.    Last season was the first of the new contract, and it''s no co-incidence that prices are rising.  Look at West Ham, when they were relegated last time everyone left.  This time they are talking about £3-£5m transfers, it''s because they are getting £16m parachute payments instead of the £4m last time.    If the top Championship clubs are able to pay £3m, it immediately puts a minimum £5m price tag on any player to go to the Premiership, as they know they will have to pay 3 to replace them.
 3.
Well the sage has reached The Beeb. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-13906019
It was the BBC that bought it to everyone''s attention last week, after Why Not Brewery went to them with the letter. That''s why the first line of the club''s statement is: "Following a recent story that appeared on the BBC news website..."   http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2381607,00.html

 5. Also, they are not going to get the £13m now, if ever!  It is £5m + add ons.  After everyone has taken their cuts (player, agents, Marcus Evans, etc) I can''t see the budget increasing by more than £3-£3.5m
 6.
If you look at my previous posts about Nike as it happens on either this thread or the other two about the whole issue you will have my answer. I have lost patience with most of you on here as you do not seem to have any intellectual brain power.
so rather than answer the point regarding why should it be ok for a local business to break copyright law with an intellectual response, you resort to cheap insults. Nice! What happens to the club if they don''t send him a letter? Well, anyone could then use the logo. If they make no attempt to protect their copyright, others companies can cite it as a precedence. If a company can prove that the club knew of the infringement and did not persue it, it would open the flood gates for people to also use the logo - and the club could do nothing about it. I know people have said about the on the ball phrase and colours, but the only part that was being protected was the logo. I believe that if they didn''t use the logo, the club wouldn''t have sent a letter. For example, Canary cars uses the word Canary and colours yellow and green, but they have not received a letter as they do not use anything that is copyrighted
 7. It would be great for city to have a team. Who would it be though? My guess would be... Gunn Dublin Mcveigh Iwan Hucks Although Gunn may have enjoyed a bit too much of the corporate entertainment at City, but I don''t know which other ''keeper should represent Ciity
 8.
Googler the problem is as a country we are suffering massively from the lack of our own industries. With this mans entrepreneurial invention he has thought of a way to make money and could potentially provide people with jobs. This is the way to sort out the economy, the fact in this country the big boys stop any form of entrepreneurial state of thought is ludicris and it''s no surprise we find ourselfs with mass unemployment and increasing debts.
I would like to understand how you justify that it is ok for him to break the law by copying the club''s registered trademark without permission!   So if I decided to be ''entrepreneurial'' and start making bags with the Nike tick and writing "just do it" along the side, it would be ok as it is creating jobs?    What if one of the major brewers, Diageo or AB InBev, decided to brew the beer with the club''s logo, would that be ok?
 9. 1. Player of all time  -   Hucks, followed by Malky 2. GOAL of all time -    Steeno''s long range, followed by any of Huck''s runs from his own half 3. Match you''ve been to, home or away -   Barnsley away when we were promoted.  It was just a big party 4. Manager of all time - Walker 5. Favourite NCFC Captain - Iwan 6. Favourite NCFC Kit
 10. 1. Player -   Tracey 2. Goal -    Geoff Horsfield, in the play-off final 3. Match you''ve been to -   Norwich vs Man City - ''99 I think.  I was hoping to see their big names at the time (Kinkladze, Weah, etc) but they were all injured, I was in the old family corner, which was half empty and it was 0-0 4. Manager  -    Bryan Hamilton 5. Captain -    Emblem 6. Kit - Don''t know why, but just didn''t like this one. 11. If you look at players where we have paid over £500k, the only one I can think of would be Cureton.  Generally, when we spend the money we often recoup it.    As someone mentioned, it is the ''Frees'' (where we probably pay a big signing on fee), and the players costing below £500k that seem to go for nothing.
 12.
And he clearly has a poor work rate, he wouldn''t fit in at Norwich at all. Grant Holt fits Norwich like a glove.
I think this discussion could happen about a number of players.  We don''t have the best team around, and on paper I think that other Championship teams would probably be better than our one that was promoted (Leeds/''Boro for example).  I think our survival this season won''t be about having a few players with high technical ability (Bendtner/Bentley/etc), but through having some reasonable players who work well together.  Just think of Greece in 2004 - I bet they wouldn''t have won if they had Beckham & Rooney in their team.  Yes they were technically better than any of the Greek players, but it would of changed the whole team dynamic.

 15. I couldn''t see it posted anywhere, but I see the guy who tweeted the comments about Vaughan has a 1 year community behaviour order and 120 hours community service. Fair punishment I think. I believe it was more stupidity than malicious intent, so it''s enough to set an example, but not enough that it will stay on his record forever.
 16.
I suppose it''s how you define foreign signings. I''d define a foreign signing as a club signing a player who is foreign. I''m just in an argumentative mood and do understand the point of the thread that you can pick up bargains from foreign clubs.
The point was that if a player is playing in a foreign league, they will take time to adapt. Therefore it is about not signing from foreign clubs rather than not signing foreign players already here. Hence y list of players we signed from foreign clubs.
 17.
I couldn''t agree more. In my opinion, you are absolutely right. I asked in a previous post for a few of these "foreign bargains" to be named. The response? There are "MANY".
Lets have a look at the ''MANY'' signings we have made from abroad over the years... Thomas Helveg David Střihavka Mattias Jonson David Střihavka Jurgen Colin Steen Nedergaard Gaetano Giallanza Marc Libbra Cedric Anselin Jean Yves De Blasiis Fernando Derveld Raymond De Waard Pape Diop Erik Fuglestad Victor Segura   How many of them were a real success at the club.  In my view - 1! Steeno   I know some of them did have a few games at the club and developed cult followings (Libbra, Anselin, etc) but I wouldn''t class them as a success.  There are some in there that proves the point that it takes time to adapt - David Striker, Juan Valesco, Mattais Jonson - they all played at the top level, International or European club competitions, but they never did it in the UK.
 18.
Shawcross is an excellent example of how a smaller clubs has benefitted from the loan system and we have had our own obviously.
Look at Hucks, I doubt he would have signed for us directly, it was only by coming on loan that he decided he liked the area and agreed to move.

 21.

There is the problem that while the EU governs who can work where, the FA or PL will have very little say in the matter
But if the player is being paid by the club a weekly salary, then surely they are working for the club even if the dont play in the starting XI, it would be the same as a work place saying to me we dont need you today but you will still be paid. If they are on pay as you play then it could be slightly different
EUFA wanted to restrict the non-nationals representing the club in European competitions, like they used to.  However, the idea is that if a club is restricted on number of non-nationals in the team, it will limit their opportunities in the squad and therefore non-nationals would be disadvantaged when it comes to recruitment.  This is then discriminating against non-nationals, and not allowed.  That''s why EUFA have bought in the ''home growns'', it was the result of negotiations with the EU.  This way it is not specifying a nationality, and no-one can say that club X is being prejudiced against a player because of the nationality, it is only based upon where they trained as a footballer.

 24.
They can have him for £5million + Fernando Torres.
or £5.5m cash
 25. No, not another transfer rumour, just an interesting interview.   http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-whites-news/leeds_united_my_whites_playing_days_linighan_interview_1_3452193   Yet despite some halcyon days with a footballing institution in Arsenal, Linighan insists the happiest time of his career was in East Anglia. He said: “My only regret is that I didn’t play in the first division until I was 28. “But I really enjoyed my time at Norwich and that was probably the best club for me. I enjoyed the football and we tried to play total football."   It''s great that you often hear players say that Norwich was one of the best times for them, or just chose to live there when they retire.
