Kenny McLean called up to Scotland
Michael Starr replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
You'd be pretty frustrated if you were Zander Clark. Went to Hearts to be number 1 goalkeeper, due to Craig Gordon being injured. Talk of Gordon retiring so Clark now very much number 1 there, then he finally gets called up to the Scotland squad aged 30 also thanks to Gordon's situation but then Angus Gunn appears from nowhere to steal his Scotland opportunity and then Craig Gordon announces that he's coming back early next season and not retiring so he's probably going to lose his Hearts number 1 status also. -
I mean, it's gonna be pretty even with all the teams taking points from each other so I'm expecting it to be very tough. I'm also expecting anyone of 15 of those teams to be in the mix.

They say the big clubs are untouchable but it's happened in other major leagues so it's possible. -
Interesting Read About Leicester
Michael Starr replied to tea total's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He knows that Leicester now need to sell Maddison. He's literally their only high value asset. They've managed contracts soo poorly that now many of the squad can walk away for free and the rest don't even have relegation clauses. -
It's got to be worth a punt on Hayden as an option, as long as the contract is built around appearances and bonuses from those appearances rather than a set x per month for x years, and as long as we have another option brought in because on his day, he's a top player at this level.
-
So Hayden is the second "experienced" player coming in then. I mean, it would make sense. He is a good player when fit. No transfer fee, wage demands are probably lower now.

Season ticket sales - sell out
Michael Starr replied to Graham Paddons Beard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I mean, season ticket holders are supporting Norwich City not Stuart Webber FC -
Aarons, Big Andy, Pukki I've always felt they played with a huge cloud over their head, especially when things weren't going well. I wonder if this is the character trait Webber spoke about. Now we seem to be replacing them with players like Barnes who's a clear natural leader and retaining players who just get on with it regardless like Hernandez and Sara. It's a clear strategy which I think can work wonders for us.

Goodbye Kieran Dowell..
Michael Starr replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Never really rated Dowell. Injury prone. Too slow. Rarely tracked back. Sure, he can potentially unlock defences which is important when we face two banks of 4 but honestly, we don't need him. He'll do okay for Rangers I'm sure. -
But also, he is the Norwich City Sporting Director who really should be seen to be promoting the women's Norwich City team for the benefit of the club. THAT IS HIS JOB. It's potential revenue. It's potential growth for Norwich City Football Club. It doesn't matter what he thinks. He needs to be seen to be backing it. What a moron.

Yet they stalled a decision for almost two weeks and now Pelach looks set to become a key cog here.

TNC on Sara
Michael Starr replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Agreed, we need to build the team around Sara tbh -
Webber interview with Davitt
Michael Starr replied to PurpleCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He was doing okay until he got into the passive aggressive "doesn't bother me" / "me me me" "I never read criticism" "people crossed the line" "it's abuse" "I can leave at any time" "I won't be here for long" "Ya'll lucky to have me" vibes -
May 19th Webber interview
Michael Starr replied to Chichcan's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
No, but he's ultimately accountable for the absolute farce we've had to endure for the best part of two years now. -
Woohoo… it’s 90% Stu Day!

May 19th Webber interview
Michael Starr replied to Chichcan's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I'm concerned that none of the local journo's will wanna push him too much now the door is slightly open again for fear of being shut out again. Especially if he's doing individual interviews with them. Why risk losing a footing directly when others wont. To do individual interviews is incredibly smart. -
It wouldn't surprise me if Luton go up to see them ground share and focus on their new stadium project rather than invest 10m in updating an already limited space. Wasted money. Perhaps treat the Prem as a free hit, bank the money, invest in the new stadium.

Ross McCrorie was on his way..
Michael Starr replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Why is he going to Bristol City when both Norwich and WBA were interested? Doesn't make sense. Must be a guarantee for first team football. -
Farke to be sacked
Michael Starr replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Honestly, right now, a Daniel Farke DOF / Russell Martin Head Coach partnership would really be a bold and promising move. -
Sara'n'trophy

A piece of transfer that went well last Summer and I feel like we've yet to see the best of Nunez. -
An indication of our ambition?
Michael Starr replied to Making Plans's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
His work rate is exceptional. He'll split open defences which is something we've lacked in the Championship when teams come to Carrow Road and put 2 blocks of 4 in front of the keeper. He's a leader. He'll drive our front line. It's not always about how many you score, and let's face it, we're not in a position to go out and buy a proven 20+ goal a season striker right now. -

Ashley Barnes is quality. We'd be lucky to bring him in for next season.
