They''re paid to win and win they should
Wouldn''t it be such a perfect world if things like that were so simple. No-one has a right to win anything, they have to earn that right and we simply didn''t last night.
 2. Scooby, I think it might have something to do with this: http://www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~1388653,00.html
 3.
I love single women who love being single. [:$]
I can only echo those sentiments lappin - but without the embarrassment. [:D] However, should any man wish to remain single, then try these ''chat up'' lines for size: 1. "Did you fart? Because you just blew me away!" 2. "Are your parents retarded? Because you''re special!" 3. "My love for you is like diarrohea. I just can''t hold it in!" 4. "Is there a mirror in your knickers? Because I can just see myself in them!" 5. "Your body reminds me of a spanner. Everytime I think of you my nuts tighten up!" 6. "You might not be the best looking girl here, but beauty is just a light switch away!" You can''t beat the classics.

 5.

His managerial career/reputation will be in tatters... and all because he is a prat who dare not question his foolish employers!!! 6.
I think he will be a straight replacement for Shackell. We will use the money to get from him to sign a further 2 players permanently in my opinion, one of them being Helguson. Am I being abit too optimistic? [:)]
I think the answer you are looking for is YES! LOL [:D] [:D] I know I mentioned Omazusi, but that was before I realised that Grounds'' apparent preferred position is at left-back - apologies, a1canary[:$]
 7.
Must be leaving. No other explanation for the Grounds signing. He may also want to play Bertrand in midfield on occasion, to keep Hoolahoop on his toes, thus freeing up the left back position. Once he''s gone, Gary D will be the very last of the old guard from our ''heady'' days in the premiership.
Why must he be leaving? Do you know the full extent of Omazusi''s injury??
 8. You really are going out of your way to slag him off aren''t you rocky? I don''t like his public criticisms of certain players anymore than what you do, but was it really worth starting another thread over? Give it a rest FFS!
 9.
Some players may need a bollocking from time to time - Hoolahan may well think he''s billy big balls and needs to be taken down a peg or two.  I don''t have a problem with this being done publicly IF it''s what the player needs.  Banjo hasn''t been the same since Grant slated him for not passing (which is ridiculous, Cureton can''t pass and was better off having a shot), but not all footballers are as fragile as Banjo and perhaps Hoolahan believes his own press cuttings - in which case Roeder might have done him a favour. Also, Roeder is equally quick to praise certain players - Omosuzi and Pattison have been on the end of positive comments recently.
To be fair, that last point is true - and I hope what I''ve highlighted in bold is true as well! He''s an invaluable supply line to us and we need him playing well and with confidence. He isn''t going to have much confidence if Roeder keeps on publicly knocking him for every single poor game he has. I also noticed that in another article in today''s EDP that he seemed to be fairly lenient with Cureton, and he was the worst offender in my book for missing the penalty that could have changed the rest of the game.
 10. While it sounded as if Hoolahan was almost non-existent in the first half on Saturday, I think that having a go at him in public was rather unnecessary. A bit Grant-like in my opinion. He had already told Hoolahan his thoughts in the dressing room afterwards, he admitted this and that is where they should have stayed. Obviously Roeder is a much better manager overall than what Grant is, but I don''t like it when managers come out and criticise their players to the waiting media when they''ve already had words after the match. I don''t think it''s the first time Roeder has done this. It''s unnecessary and I hope that it doesn''t happen on a regular basis this season because it helps no-one. We''ve seen what damage Hoolahan can inflict on his day, we''ve seen what he can do with his left-foot, so I just hope that he responds in the right manner in training this week and again if he is picked to start against Birmingham next Saturday.
 11.
Are they a struggling Championship team with the strikers desperately needing a confidence boost? No...
Yeah, maybe we should start singing Flecky''s name or something...[;)] Seriously though, stuff like that going on when a match is being played and the players are trying to concentrate isn''t going to do anyone any favours at all.
 12. I''m originally from Lowie, spent the first 23 years of my life living just a few minutes from the town centre. I used to live along Norwich Road funnily enough, where my old man had a family butcher''s shop. I had, and still have when I go back to the town (which is frequently), some very happy times there. It''s definitely more of a yellow and green persuasion! Not so sure about the Beccles area, I think that''s more 50/50 at the moment.

 18.
Do you want me to tell you, or do you want a little more time to work it out?
There''s no need for the sarcasm, it was a genuine question. I knew it had something to do with a target man obviously, I''m not totally ignorant thank you.
 19.

Who are? Most of this message board for starters although there is an increase in those fans who are now starting to wake up at last! Anyone who really believed that Lupoi and the Pompey kiddie could be our new strike force are now having their eyes opened to a very harsh reality. Luppoli''s last 3 year scoring record is appalling for a striker, and the less said about the kid the better!. This is what happens when you try and do things on the cheap. I also include Bell, Stef, Kennedy in fact all of GR''s mediocre signings so far, and I''m convinced this side will get relegated. Hoolihan, whilst he''s good is no Hucks. We cannot score and we still cannot defend. Yes, we have different players from Grants side, but we still have the same old problems. Failure to accept this, or hide it away under the ''I''m a loyal supporter so it doesn''t matter what happens'' banner is failure in your supporter responsibility to the long term, well being of our club. In other words your blind faith and constant denial could well kill this club stone cold dead!
All right Wiz, I''m going to try and take this seriously, since you clearly mean it. I haven''t seen a game yet this season, so clearly I don''t have much to go on as far as the new signings are concerned, but: Defence: it seems that Kennedy and Stefanovic are going to be first choice ahead of Shackell and Doherty, and Bertrand and Ozusumi are ahead of Drury and Semmy. Which would suggest that either Roeder''s judgment is up the spout or our defence will be stronger than last season. There are obviously doubts over Kennedy''s fitness and Stefanovic''s age, but they both have an impressive pedigree, so it seems fair to assume that after a few games together (neither played last night), they should be a decent pairing. We know Bertrand is outstanding, so if Ozusumi is better than Otsemobor, then we will have a pretty decent back four. Midfield: All comments on Hoolahan suggest that he is a very good player, giving us the creativity we have been lacking. Darel Russell has played in solid, mid-table Championship sides for years, and currently can''t get in our 1st team, which suggests that Clingan is a decent player. I know many don''t, but I rate Fozzy, though there is some doubt that he and Clingan will work well together if  neither of them really want to push on. We obviously haven''t seen Bell yet, but I would still suggest that this year''s midfield is a lot stronger than last year''s, certainly in terms of depth. Attack: this is obviously where the problems are. We desperately need a BMUF. We all know this, Roeder knows it, I imagine Delia knows it. It is the great unknown. If Roeder can sign Ameobi or Iversen, I reckon our first team will look pretty good. If we get to the end of the transfer window and we are left with no one or some Peter Thorne-a-like, then we are in trouble. In summary, this year''s squad looks a lot better to me than the one that finished last season. They will take time to gel, and I''m certainly not going to panic over a couple of defeats. I reckon we''ll finish mid table, a task that will be a lot easier with a target man. otbc
Very good post there Robert, can''t really add anymore to that to be honest, but I have one question. What the hell is a BMUF?
 20.
Can you imagine Hoola and Lupo running at Zesh, he was pants when he was with us, the Titanic turned quicker than him.
LOL [:D] [:D] That is going to be very interesting to watch isn''t it?
 21.
They will have some ex City players who want to prove a point to GR and have strengthened a lot. Won''t be a pushover, but we should win and if we want to do well, we have to beat teams like Blackpool.
We certainly do need to beat them CIB but, as you say, they won''t be a pushover. They may have lost the likes of Wes Hoolahan and Kaspars Gorkks to us and QPR (eventually ) respectively, but it appears to me that they''ve also made some very useful signings. We lost Matty Gilks, our second choice keeper, to them as part of the Hoolahan deal and more recently they''ve also brought in Daniel Nardiello (two-year-contract) and Zesh Rehman (ex-City loan defender on a six-month loan deal), both from QPR, Wolves'' Welsh international centre-back Rob Edwards on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee, Mo Camara has gone there on an emergency loan due to injuries to left-backs Stephen Crainey and Joe Martin and finally they''ve also signed David Vaughan, a Welsh international midfielder from Real Sociedad for £200k (subject to international clearance). I must admit, I am quietly impressed by who they''ve brought in.
 22.

I agree with you nutty and I only listened to it - Eastwood and Morrison didn''t really sound like they were in the game at all at times.
I wasn''t necessarily saying that we should buy those two I was trying to make the point that there were several strikers available and listed the ones which have moves ship in the past month or so. Perhaps I didn''t phrase my post too well!
Yes, but it''s about getting the right man or men for the job! Roeder stated ages ago that he could sign ordinary players any day of the week - personally, I think quite a lot of those available were ordinary.
 23.

I wasn'' there today Nutty so will bow to your judgement. The point I was trying to make is that if we had given Roeder enough money we would now have a proven striker. I''m not sure if the players I list could have done ajob for us, I was just trying to make the point there were plenty of strikers available which other clubs have signed up, if that makes sense.
Roeder says he has been given the funds, he also says he hasn''t missed out on his targets. There seems to be a problem getting his striker in but at no point has he said it was through lack of finance. The point I am making is that the ''proven strikers'' that are regularly mentioned on here may not be better than the ones Roeder got. On todays evidence ours were better than Eastwood and Morrison and last season Cureton out scored the likes of Eastwood and Sharpe. When Roeder signs this striker he will have Lupoli, Cureton and Koroma to choose from to play beside him. I don''t believe the picture is as bleak as being painted on here. Better to be waiting for the player he wants than if we had already got Eastwood is my feelings tonight Angel.
I agree again nutty, better he did that than buy another Thorne, Brown, Hartson or Howard.
 24.

Iwelumo, Morrison, Ormerod and Tyson are nothing more than OK so I suggest you stop clutching at straws. And to question whether we (I take it as in Roeder?) have not tried hard enough in getting the right man in, I''m sorry, but that''s a bit silly in my opinion.
So you don''t think any of those 4 are better than Lupoli and OJ then? If you think the club had offered the right money for the strikers available instead of trying to get everyone on the cheap we would have had a striker by now. Iwelumo would have done a massive job with Jamie, why didn''t we go for him? When I say have we tried hard enough thats a go at the boards reluctance to spend big money, Roeder can''t spend what he''s not given and thats why we''re relying on loanees and cheapies.
Well from what I saw today I would be gutted if we had bought Eastwood and Morrison and had them on long contracts. Our strikers looked much better than them. But, it was only one game.
I agree with you nutty and I only listened to it - Eastwood and Morrison didn''t really sound like they were in the game at all at times.
 25.

But it should have been a priority back in July, Lupoli has scored 8 goals in the last 3 seasons and OJ is here to learn his trade which leaves us with Jamie who wont produce without a target man. Have we tried hard enough? Have we offered enough money? Other clubs have bought strikers so why are we finding it so difficult
, What strikers do you think Glen has missed who have gone to other clubs? Beattie? Brilliant signing but out of our league. Lisbie? Been there - no thanks. Lyle? No...... who would you have gone for cityangel?
What about Iwelumo, Morrison, Eastwood, Fitz Hall, Commons, Earnshaw, Ormeroyd or Nathan Tyson just to name a few, could one of them not done a job for us??
CA, as I understand it, Fitz Hall is a centre half and Kris Commons is a midfielder/winger. That money grabbing little so-and-so and Eastwood aren''t really what we need, and Iwelumo, Morrison, Ormerod and Tyson are nothing more than OK so I suggest you stop clutching at straws. And to question whether we (I take it as in Roeder?) have not tried hard enough in getting the right man in, I''m sorry, but that''s a bit silly in my opinion.
Would you rather....and truth been known.....Cole and Earnie or Curo and Lupu?
I know what you''re saying there Arthur, but I would still rather put my faith in the latter two.
