  1. Agree Knoche would be a great signing. Chester is a solid defender and very experienced at this level. also noted Oscar Hiljemark is available , whom we were rumoured to be interested in around 2016 time. Defensive midfielder as well
  2. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/vertragslosespieler if you have to choose one free transfer from this list (taking into account our wage structure and playing in the championship next season) who would you pick that would fit Farke’s seeking of quality experienced players ? i can’t see us spending the cash to achieve this so will either be a free or loan. My pick would be James Chester
  3. Reading Farke’s comments regarding making tough decisions on players who were outstanding in champ winning season but struggled in prem, plus the rumours and his age makes me think we will look to cash out and get a high transfer fee for Pukki. Also falling into the ‘struggling in the prem’ bracket would be Trybull, Klose, Stiepermann, Drmic. Also can see Buendia going if the price is right. Possibly Vrancic given his lack of mobility but if we are going to be attacking with more possession then he is still a great option off the bench and squad rotation during a busy fixture schedule
  4. Hope that Van La Parra is a player we move for - on a free, good winger for champ and squad player for prem and recently played champs league football
  5. Just remembered that us, Bournemouth and Watford were promoted together in the 2014/15 season. Will it happen again next season ?
  6. Players Most likely to leave (permanent) Trybull - Germany or similar Leitner - Germany or similar Heise - Germany or similar Thompson - MK Dons Raggett - Portsmouth Cantwell - Newcastle Lewis - Crystal Palace Aarons - multiple PL clubs interested Buendia - Spanish La Liga team Drmic - Germany or similar European comp less likely moves Byram - are Leeds going to fancy taking him back? Godfrey - PL club interest but price tag is hefty Pukki - if PL club wants to take gamble
  7. Agree with most of this. Painful as it is, especially with Leeds getting promoted but we can all think back to those other times of relegation from the prem but this time for me it feels different. There’s actually a plan in terms of youth development, incoming players, a united team in Farke and Webber. The good times will come again next season and the feelings of now will be forgotten, just like those felt at previous relegations. It will be good to see us competitive again next season, attacking teams and getting our rewards. Farke is learning and developing all the time- recruitment was wrong in the summer, for example they didn’t appreciate the need for more combative and pacey central And wide midfield players and to be more compact and solid, accepting that we need players who are better without the ball than on the ball (like we were in the championship) from the rumoured incoming signings and who we suspect will leave the club it appears like they are addressing these shortcomings in the squad
  8. Proper leader and motivator and vital blocks and defensive positioning. Considering he had only trained a couple of times he did very well.
  9. Ayala and James Chester would be a decent champ pairing - agree that based on this season in particular they are all prone to regular injuries and 46 game championship is a gruelling season so we do need at least one new CB
  10. Conor Gallagher - Chelsea midfielder with lots of positive attacking play, fits the mould of young upcoming talent with prem league potential Lewis Travis - Blackburn defensive mid Ayala - former player available on a free and now an experienced champ central defender Conor Wickham or Dwight Gayle for proven champ Striker Gk reserve - David Marshall from Wigan as another blast from the past
  11. Surely this is the first ever season in prem league history where the 3 relegated clubs have stayed with the same manager all season?
  12. Looking like champ season starts either end of August or 12th September, either way going to be a quick turnaround from our last game at Man City. the positives are that the incomings have already started and the lads will at least have more of a match day fitness going into the short pre season. we will be back - we ultimately weren’t good enough but the lads that we had gave it a good go and I am sure lots of lessons have been learnt that will stand us in good stead going forwards. I would much rather this than championship mediocrity which is what would happen if we got rid of Farke, Webber etc. We are in much better hands for the long term future of the club than other unsustainably run clubs like Villa
  13. I am sure Wilder is a fan of Todd but seriously £10m is nowhere near ! https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united-plotting-10million-bid-22316109
  14. Given COVID I think the price tags for both Godfrey and Gayle will put potential suitors off so a swap deal and cash might be a workable option
  15. Agree that his salary could be seen as a stumbling block but it could be that Newcastle continue to pay a portion of the salary in order to get a deal done and him off their books. If none of the promoted champ teams fancy a move for Gayle then he may well see a move to us as a good option if he is a regular first team player and we have the nucleus of a squad to mount a serious promotion campaign
  16. Newcastle apparently also interested in Godfrey - if a deal involving Dwight Gayle can be done then I think we should pursue it
  17. Tactically Brighton showed us today what we should have been doing all season. to get the best out of Pukki at this level, we need to be playing more counter attack football with the opposition having a high defensive line so we can get into the channels and build from there. He’s ineffective when we are hitting aimless long balls to him or unable to create in final third due to not having the quality to break the defence down with over passing.
  18. The team does need a shake up - for Farke to be able to move forwards he needs to move those on that are sought after by the prem clubs (getting as much as we can) and those that will expect to be first team but are just not good enough for the prem as shown this season. This season has shown that we have some ok individuals but they have lost that team ethic and spirit - they don’t believe they can come back and break teams down when the opposition go one up. The youthfulness and inexperience of the team hasn’t helped. players out - Buendia - Aarons - Cantwell - Lewis - Pukki - McLean - Tettey - retire - Drmic - Stiepermann - Leitner - squad players ( Raggett, Thompson, Morris etc)
  19. I seriously thought Duda was finished with us, has showed nothing in the last few games. And Drmic after his howler at Arsenal should be nowhere near the pitch! unless Todd has a knock why on earth isn’t he starting in place of Duda ?
  20. This team is absolutely spot on - about time Buendia is played as the number 10, with Hernandez providing the speed to pull Brighton defence apart and Mario to be spraying the ball about to play the attacking midfielders and Idah in. We can’t defend even when we try to be solid so might as well go for it !
  21. Drmic is worse than Elmander and he was a bloody donkey
  22. I remember Krul making similar mistake in the champ last season , seems to look so slow on the ball thinking he has all the time in the world! still player of the season though.... unless Pukki suddenly fires us to safety
  23. We definitely need a GK as part of summer transfers - McGovern as our back up isn’t going to cut it and of course there is the possibility of Krul leaving if we are relegated
  24. Lewis Travis of Blackburn is an upcoming championship combative midfielder but likely to be out of our transfer budget. So we will need to be plucking another unknown European defensive midfielder. to be fair Melvin Sitti is a DM but he will need time to adapt to the demands of the English game
