1. Like you LC,I have my doubts, but I suppose we have to give the guy a chance.   This whole Fotheringham thing is turning out to be a total farce, but it sums up the way the club is run these days.
2. Foz is one of those midfield players,of which City have had dozens in the last 10 yrs. I''m talking about people who do a lot of huffing and puffing, make a lot of reasonably accurate sideways/backwards passes, but when put under any sort of pressure to make a telling ball, give it away. Having seen a bit of Swiss football,I was always unsure how someone who was failing to get into a VERY mediocre Swiss team was going to cut the mustard at Championship level. PNE must have more money than sense.
3. I''m sorry Lol. But I''m getting tired of this. Please quote me chapter and verse that PROVES that Cullum has ever said he is interested in taking over,or has ever met with MWJ/DS?
4.
A  number of young PL players have been loaned out to League One clubs over the last couple of seasons.
Yeah,Hereford have loads..some from Manyoo and L''pool. And they are going down, just like us.
5.
[Openly stating the club is up for sale invariably creates panic, and drives offers down (not just for her shares, but what is intended to be put into the club too). Incredibly few clubs who''ve approached Harris have made such a declaration: it''s just not how it works. .
But letting the club slide into the lower reaches of the league doesn''t "create panic" or "drive offers doen" then?   What nonsense. If you were looking for a textbook on how NOT to run a football club''s finances you could do a lot worse than follow  MWJ/DS and all the rest of the board''s actions over the last 5 years.   In any case I do wish that people would stop harping on about Cullum/Harris. there is no evidence that anty such deal was ever on the table.
6. A bleak, but very perceptive and accurate appraisal of the current situation,Big Feller. Like you,I see no easy way out of this. I''ve already resigned myself to relegation, and ,like you without big injections of cash,League One aint going to be a breeze either. I certainly can''t see us "doing a Leicester". Perhaps understandably Doomcaster/The Board are staying tight lipped about administration, but I,firmly believe it''ll happen ,and sooner than most folk believe.
7. Firing Roder was of course the right decision, but hiring Gunn to replace him was quite the most ridiculously bad one this board have ever made (and that''s saying something!).   I have absolutely no doubt that this Club have a squad of players capable of keeping us in this div at the very least. Trouble is ,they have also got a bunch of idiots as a Board,an arrogant, mindless CEO,a clueless manager, and inexperienced coaching staff who pick/motivate completely the wrong tactics/team from that squad.   We are DEFINITELY going down. Get used to it,folks.
8. An even worse scenario than the above....and on current form it''s quite feasible:   As a result of all the games on Sat Apr 18, we arrive at Portaloo the following day needing 3pts to stay up. We are 1-0 up with 5 mins to go,THEN Tommy Miller puts one past a flailing Marshall, and we are D O W N. The nightmare continues.......
9. Given our position, form,Management and squad,I''d say Coral''s are being VERY generous.
10. Another 1-1 draw. Not that draws are any use to us these days....
11. I can''t believe all these scummers calling for Magilton''s head. They are only 2 pts off the play offs FFS. I knew binners were fickle, but this is ridiculous.
12. For obvious reasons,I don''t see EVERY bit of writing published in the media about the affairs of NCFC,but I''ve NEVER seen anything specific that has intimated that Cullum has ,or has ever had, any intention of buying the club. There,as usual ,has been a lot of smoke and mirrors, vague sound bites, and "paper talk",but has anyone any proof at all that this guy wants to put his dosh into NCFC?   So,my view is,as some others have said...just forget him. True we are in a dreadful mess, most of it has been the making of the current people in charge, and they should consider their positions,. But there''s no point in holding out hope of salvation from a "Knight in shining Armour",when there''s NO credible evidence that he even exists.
13. I''m like you SJC,living abroad, getting to about 6 matches per season, and having to watch from afar,as the club self-destructs. The doziness of the board/management/players has been already well covered, but I''m sure that the key problem is the constant in/out of loan players. I was checking the stats, and this term we''ve already had more loanees than for 4 whole seasons at the start of the millenium. It''s bad enough having constant changes (eg through injuries and suspensions) that mean the TEAM doesn''t know who''s in from week to week, but when we don''t even know what the SQUAD is on a weekly basis, then something is very awry. Don''t think that appointing Gunn and all the old cronies was a good idea, and the decision to bring Shackell back on loan is the economics of the madhouse.
14. Fair enough ,Roeder is paid to be Percy Positive. If he cannot be one, then Gawd help us all.   BUT........I''m not too sure on what premise he bases his optimism reported at the meeting last night.  The defence, though OK in the main has an alarming propensity to go AWOL at key moments and concede soft goals. The midfield looks short on confidence and all these red cards has led to a lot of tinkering. As for the strikers....well enough said.We are the lowest scorers in the Div. Even during the Dec/Jan revival we very rarely scored more than one per game.   I''d like to think we can beat Colchester, even one-nil would do.But I''m not confident we will. As for the other needed win. Who will THAT be against?  Any guesses.?
15.

I guess the point Yankee Canary is making (albeit tongue in cheek) is that ALL THREE of whoever goes up this season will come down in 12 months time with record low pts.
People say that every year and it never happens. It won''t happen again next year either. Usually what happens (as a rule) is there''s one team that does surprisingly well, another that''s competitive and another that''s totally out of their depth. In general that''s what happens across all the leagues.
Which of Derby,Birmingham and Sunderland has done "surprisingly well" this year Graham?  I''ll concede that Derby fit the "out of depth" berth!!!
16.
For the same reason that the team being relegated 3rd from bottom will likely do so with the highest points total, all your "analysis" shows is that the league is more competitive than ever and each team can and will take points of each other.  The championship is 24 decent, hard working but mediocre teams huffing and puffing for that extra 1% which might make the difference. .
You are spot on,Mr Chops. The fact that(at this stage of the season FGS),had we  won as opposed to lost yesterday,we''d be almost as near to a play off place as a relegation place,is a testimony as to how poor this league really is. That, along with the fact that teams like Stoke and Bristol City are table-toppers.The truth of the matter is ,that top 6-8 apart The Premier league is desperately ordinary, but just better enough than Championship teams to make a difference. I guess the point Yankee Canary is making (albeit tongue in cheek) is that ALL THREE of whoever goes up this season will come down in 12 months time with record low pts.
17.
Please let me explain the title of this post before anyone having a go at me!! Roeder would not have seen much of Norwich before taking the job and now he has seen the best average and worst we can play. I think yesterday could be a good thing as he now had a hands on view of what is wrong with the club at the moment.  I think he will now use this 2 week break to change the wrongs and we will see a much different side at home to Coventry, Plus this break can give our injured players a chance to get back to full fitness. Lets noit forget although its bad at the moment we have a new man in charge and we have games to put it right. If we are still in this position at the end of Jan my view may change but at the moment lets get right behind him and give him a chance to succeed which I think he will
I''m certainly not "having a go" at you Roberts, but it''ll take a hell of a lot more than 2 weeks to put right the wrongs at this club! I think GR can make a start in that time, and,as you say,he might get some of the injured players back, but the whole etos of the club has to change, and radically.I''m sorry, but that can''t be done in a fortnight.
18. A couple of good posts these. We can argue about Delia, the Board,Doomcaster till the cows come home, but the fact remains that this squad,as a whole,is VASTLY underperforming. They are capable of mid-table ,minimum. The comparison with Leeds is a fair and accurate one.To carry on this depressing theme,in the case of Ipswich, they are the complete opposite.Their squad is  full of journeymen, has beens, rejects, and untried kids, but they are vastly over-achieving. It pains me to say it,but good luck to them. Whilst it is true that there are a few people in the NCFC squad who are simply not good enough, the great majority are either not committed enough or not consistent enough. It remains to be seen whether Roeder can get anyone in who is decent enough to either make a difference themselves,or at least concentrate the minds of those already here.Personally,I can''t see anyone of that calibre wanting to come here. But we shall see.
19. Without being either too simplistic or evasive about this,it completely depends on which City side turn up. If it''s the one that played so well against the Binners, then 15 pts at least from those games.   On the other hand,if its the City side that failed to turn up at Molineux,Loftus Rd and at home v Bristol City, then 2 or less is what to expect.
20. I remember that night too PC. Whenever he got the ball,Mirandinha just did  a "heads down and run with it" job. Did the powers that be at Sid James Pk ever get him to actually pass the ball??
21. With the obvious exception of Hucks and Crouch, can anyone name a single player who has come to us on loan who has been an unqualified (or ,come to think of it ,qualified), success over the last 10 years? There seems to be a lot of store being put in getting loanees in,but,it has to be said, the club''s track record in this is abysmal. Having said that, the current squad is so thin, quality wise,I guess we haven''t much option till January, have we?
22.
I thought he done a good job at Burnley with hardly any money.
They beat just one team in the last 2 months. Any guesses as to which team that was????
23. OK, there is a bit of poetic licence in it (he''s a journalist, after all):but in the main he hits the spot dead on. It really is time that a few people on this forum took his advice and "woke up and smelt the coffee". The current table makes HORRENDOUS reading. I''ve been checking the stats over past seasons, and pretty much every team who has been near the position City are currently in (or, if we lose at Plymouth,WILL be in) in mid November, have gone down the following May.The squad is nowhere near good enough, and is virtually 100% full of people who fall into 3 categories;   1,  not good enough 2,  not committed enough 3,  not consistent enough   Let us hope, for all our sakes, that MD''s assessment of Roeder is an accurate one.
24.

Just exactly what do you base this astonishing complacency on FF?
Don''t confuse optimism with complacency. I am not yet ready to hang my head and admit we''re beaten and as good as down, and shame on you if you are.
And don''t confuse "admitting we''re beaten" with realism ,FF.
25.
Sack Roeder NOW! Sack the board NOW! Um... No, I can''t do it.  You''re right, of course.  What matters now is getting us to the 50 points we need to stay up, which means 41 more from 31 games.  I''m not too worried as I think we''ll do this with room to spare.  Roeder has plenty of time now to look at the team and work with individuals, and to bring in a couple of players (a hard man in midfield and a left back wouldn''t hurt).
Just exactly what do you base this astonishing complacency on FF?  As regards points....we''ve taken 9 from the last 15 games. So with double that number of games to go,how do you work out that 4.5 times the points gained  so far should be done with "room to spare"?   As regards players......you clearly feel "a couple of new ones" will make the above happen. Which ones will make the diffrence?  Perhaps we can get Barca to part with either Messi,Etoo,Henry or Ronaldinho,as  they don''t need them all? Also ,the board has given us no indication of their willingness to bring anyone decent in (with the exception of Ashton or Earnie) since 2003.So why do you think that will change?
