  1. Prudence with Ambition means trying to do things on the cheap... NCFC and New Labour go hand in hand. Same old spin, same old bull.
  2. My ''mole'' at the club told me last week that no new faces would be coming in, which has proved to be correct. Norwich are holding back the cash until January because if Worthless is replaced, the board (i.e Delia) wants to give a new face some cash to spend.
  3. I spoke to Doncaster at the end of last season, largely about the why Worthington was still incharge etc. when out of the blue he said ''Would you be happy if we sold Leon Mckenzie...?'' I was taken by surprise when this was suggested, as it was not directly related to the subject in hand. I said it would depend on what we would get for him and IF a replacement was found. As it turns out, the club have got good money, but no replacement. One can assume that Leon was always going to move. The 4-5-1 system has totally frozen him out and he was not a direct replacement if Huckerby, Croft or even Earnshaw got injured. His time was up. Leon correctly pointed out that the club were after another striker, which also shows a lack of faith, but more importantly - How on earth are we going to attract a striker who will spend most of the time on the bench? If any normal human being were in Leon''s shoes, they would have to be mad to stay a NCFC. The fingers had already been waved...
  4. I still want him gone and for Delia and Wynn Jones to have NOC of the club. I cannot forgive either party for the last two seasons. They made a hash of it and I''ll never forgive them for that. Delia will probably want credit for not sacking Worthington, but this was because she was too weak and not a tactical desicion. Hunter is getting the credit for me, because Worthington has proved time and time again that he cannot get the best out of the team. That said, with Rob Green gone, who was a huge WO, the team probably is more settled than on previous occasions, yet I believe it is Hunter who is getting the respect of the players - Not Worthington, who is becoming a passenger of his own making.
  5. As a so-called WO, I am pleased of Dicksons improved form, but I will reserve total judgement until we play 4-4-2 on a regular basis. By playing 4-5-1, which I can''t stand on a week-in week-out basis, shows that Worthless hasn''t got the confidence in playing two central midfielders. Yet...
  6. Worthless says he wants to keep McKenzie, but refuses to start him in Championship matches. He''ll never start under Worthless due to our delusionary 4-5-1 system [memo to Nigel - it isn''t 4-4-3, no matter how you look at it], so I hope Leon finds a club as soon as possible. Nigel is just being selfish in trying to keep a player that he not want or believe in. It is totally unfair to keep a player who has no future at the club. It is ridiculous. If Nigel rated him he would be playing with Earnie up front, but he does not. Leon''s carear at this club is being sacrificed by playing an extra midfielder, which wouldn''t be necessary if the midfield was good enough in the first place. Secondly, what striker in their right mind would want to come here? Unless we play two up front we will get nobody - another Worthless folly. Just don''t expect to see many goals away from home this season because the club will not do the necessary to make this happen.
  7. Green isn''t worth £2M today, but he was probably worth that two seasons ago. His stock for a variety of reasons has gone down ever since. I can''t get all misty eyed about Rob Green like some other fans. He has wanted out of Carrow Road for some considerable time and his body language for the last few months he played showed his mind was clearly elsewhere. He should of been dropped [another Worthy mistake] but probably retained his place due to the impending World Cup and by his potential transfer value going down, but he managed that by himself by not showing his true form. Gallacher may not be Paul Robinson, but he is a breath of fresh air as far as I''m concerned. The whole team will benefit from having a keeper who WANTS to play for NCFC. Lewis will be an able deputy - I would like to see the cash raised from a Green sale spent on other areas on the pitch.
  8. Gibson''s right. Not very PC, but accurate. When I mention to some people I''m going to London, it''s like I''ve booked a trip to the moon! Hevingham is the scariest place I''ve been to in Norfolk. Very strange characters who pronounce their village in a very Arkwright-esque Heaaaaaaaarvingham....
  9. It would not make any sense in playing Andy Hughes. As many posters know I didn''t rate Hughes before he came to Norwich and has proved to be one of the worst signings in the history of our club when you consider fees, wages etc. If we continue to be reletively injury free, it would be best if he either got sold or was forced out on loan. As he is one of the higher earners at the club, there is no point paying the wages for someone who has little future here. If we had a injury or two, I would much prefer to see Spillane or Jarvis than Hughes, who has sadly let us down on too many occasions and personifed all too often what was wrong on the pitch last year. It''s nothing personal against Hughes, it''s just that he isn''t good enough and that isn''t good for Norwich City.
  10. I have to agree with Foghorn - its amazing that after ONE win that people have temporarily forgotten how the last TWO season have been littered with error strewn pathetic crap. I don''t think any other club in the Football League would have kept a manager on after two unacceptable seasons apart from our dictatorship. If we have any success this season, it will be mainly inspite of Worthington, not because of him. Last night showed that we still have a good [though incomplete] side out there. I''m giving Hunter the credit, as Worthington has showed for the last two seasons that he isn''t up to the job. I support the team, not the manager.
  11. I wonder how positive fans will be if we fail to score in our next away league match. I''m tentatively hopeful that things really will continue to improve, but I''m not getting carried away on ONE win, even though we have seemed to have rediscovered how to pass the ball again. Our away form will be the key this season. But my theory on Earnshaw being our only hope of goals is proving correct, though any help from the opposition banging the ball into our net is gratefully received!
  12. The M25''s not so bad. When it''s closed this would be for a proper reason such as road works or a car crash. It doesn''t have to endure the misfortune of having Tractors, Combine Harvesters and other slow moving agriculturial traffic on it''s tarmac like the A47 or A140. So next time you travel on the M25 Mike, please, give it some respect.
  13. Go. There is no logical reason to keep him, though for the sake of democracy, Delia and Wynn Jones'' shareholding should be reduced to no more than 49%. Think of all the pointless Chapels they could build with the extra cash.
  14. I don''t really care about the Carling Cup, but it would be useful to play Spillane, Jarvis'', Cave-Brown etc. to give them experience. Worthless seems to have no confidence in our younger players, so why have an academy if the buffoon will never play them? I''d rather have Rossi and Spillane is the middle than Hooves and Robinson. They''re cheaper too! Message to younger players: If you fancy a career in football, get out of Norwich fast. At least while Worthless is here.
  15. I can see many arguments between fans if things don''t go our way - However 6 points from the next two home games - which we should get if we are serious about being real contenders - should give everyone a boost. Anything less than four, then it''s groundhog year.
  16. Norwich kits over the years of been so oversized, you could build a housing estate in them. Fashion has finally hit Norwich at last with modern, slim fitting kits. Hurrah! Nothing beats the Hummel white and green away kits of the mid ''80''s though, still the marker for all kits to aim for. They were slim too, as kits just look much better that way. Maybe the suppliers could make a couple of bigger sizes to compensate those with a "larger frame?"
  17. I would definitely go 4-4-2, with McKenzie and Earnie in attack, with Robinson making way. We cannot rely on one striker to do the business, because when it doesn''t happen, as it didn''t on Saturday, we lose. I don''t like 4-5-1 atall, because it''s admitting you''re not good enough before we''ve kicked a ball. That system only works on a regular basis if you''ve got a very good, attacking central midfield. Which we haven''t -yet. It''s too depressing into thinking who we might sign, because Worthy has been given a small budget and has only a few crumbs left. In a world where we can''t even get Geoff Horsfield, don''t expect too much!!!
  18. However you dress it up, we lost. I posted on here some days ago that the problem with 4-5-1, at least under Worthington, is that we will conceed less goals, but score even fewer. If our clown of a manager persists in playing this system we will be lucky to score a dozen goals away from home this year - Especially after January when Earnies gone. It is a negative way of playing and unfair on Earnie, because if he doesn''t score, nobody else is going to. See yesterday''s result for proof. You don''t get any points for creating chances. Negative system, negative manager = no goals. Hopefully we will do the business on Tuesday night, but it will be a damn sight harder if we continue to play 4-5-1.
  19. Worthless has only got £400K left. The board [i.e Delia] hasn''t got the inclination to sack the fool, so the they are giving him a reduced budget to work with because they will need some cash later on when Delia eventually sees the light and pays him off. What a pathetic situation.
  20. Hughes isn''t good enough whether he is fit or not. Any City fan who thinks he is should take a trip down to Specsavers.
  21. We would only get to 6th. once Worthless has gone, so this means we could actually win.
  22. Sorry Ralph, but to state that "The overwhelming majority seem to think the club is getting it right" is truly fantasy. Every season ticket holder I know of - and they all renewed for this season - are unhappy with the club and want Worthington out. They are loyal to the club - but not necessarily the personel. The season ticket renewal figure does not reflect a vote of confidence in all things yellow and green - far from it.
  23. I''m not sure Horsfield was a target either, but if he was, it shows how much we''ve slipped as a club over the last yaer or two. He is not the type of player we should be looking for. As for Sutton, the reason we don''t want his services are now clearly evident as not being a football one. Worthy goes on about wanting younger players - nothing wrong with that - but being linked with Horsfield and also being an admirer of Duncan Ferguson, both the wrong side of 30 - shows Worthless in his usual contradictory form. He doesn''t want Chris here. If he did, I believe the board would sanction it. Bigger wages than Horsfield, but for obvious reasons.
  24. Hughes is no loss. I want to like him, but I can''t. I have never know a player with such limited ability, to consistently play so badly and yet seems to more or less walk into the side when he is our worst midfielder - not that we have an embarassment of riches in that department of course. If I see Hughes and Robinson in the middle of the park again in a Championship match, I will not be responsible for my actions!
  25. It should be noted that Worthy probably has only £400K of his budget left - so it''s looking like loan signings at best unless we can earth some rough diamond for a small fee.
