  1. I will be at the Blue Terrace Bar in Los Cristiona n on Sunday - looking for other supportets to cheer us on to 3 points - against our Suffolk cousins The Bar is at second level above the local Spar supermarket- opposirte Summer Nights and Los Pergolas See you all there - book early its all - ticket
  2. [quote user="chicken"]I think its the price as well. But as someone else said at the begining of the season, MacNally did his homework on this and probably worked out that if they could get x amount of supporters through the gates with the price increase it would probably make the club more money.[/quote] The profit on the installation of new seats looks a little skinny How much did they cost- hardly any of them used todate When we will get a return on this investment gtrat calculation Mr McNally
  3. Regarding Martin I was simply commenting that my neutral mate didn''t rate him. I think your earlier post said that a friend watching only his second game said Russell Martin was s--t This comment was totally out of line with your other judgements and not based on any experience of the wonderful soccer game. It is totally opposite to the Radio Norfolk commentary and analysis By the way my wife likes to but sausages from Asda
  4. L of a contribution from Pboro Canary - missed the referring effort but one out of two is relegation form
  5. slightly wrong view from your spec savers - in my opinion 1 The referee was looking at the incident -all of the time 2 He never waved or signalled with his hands/arms that he was allowing an advantage 3 He may have shouted to Gomez but -who knows 4 No advantage was gained so when Nani touched the ball he should have blown his whistle 5 The linesman fagged and gave him every chance to reconsider 6 He said he had played an advantage - but no advantage was gained 7 He was referring at Old Trafford 8 All other comments might be subject to court actions 9 Someone please give any other explanation
  6. Cody and Shackell score and Russell is sent off He normally gets 3 reds a season - so he''s on par He must be missing City but he''s must have more cash in his wallet - all the best to him Have I missed any others
  7. Agreed. It would be stupid for City fans to start banging on about auto promotion. One thing is clear though and that is that a Lambert team is more than the sum of it`s parts and the players are clearly happy with what is asked of them. If the fans can start packing out CR again and being a bit more supportive, and if players like Hoolihan and Crofts stay fit, it`s looking really good Just comparing our results from 2 years ago 10 games and a paltry 10 points 20 games and only 20 points 46 games and 46 points and relegation We are making great progress probably are looking good to at least end up in the top half of the table If we can achieve 13-15 points from the next 10 games we will be looking good for a top six challenge I think the squad is strong enough to at least be in with a shout of the playoff - but I was not of that opinion before the season started At the moment Crofts, Hoolahan and the centre backs need to be free from injuries and suspensions to make sure we have the ''first picks'' in the side week after week!! On the Ball City
  8. Exactly - very difficult to form a view that he would be worth a start on those few minutes Did a job but I''m not sure if he could oust Drury Martin or anyone else fow that matter - however Lamberts the guy who will know.....
  9. You are being just a little selective with your version of the stats. Add these Total attempts on goal 11-11 Total corners 9-1 Add to that the crosses fizzing across goal and your picture looks a bit suspect The corner count is again a City problem - the conversion rate is extremely low from such a high level of corners Want something to work on to improve - get working on the training ground I agree with Lambert that the overall performance was good - can''t relate to picking out the midfield as being suspect. I thought that the workrate of Lappin, Hoolahan, Smith and Crofts largely negated the efforts of Ashbee and Bullard. Sure Hllk had a lot of the ball but the were very rarely a threat untill the last 10 minutes No I don''t agree with your stats (too much spin) or your view of the players performance
  10. The result was actually 3-0, I was there all of 52 years ago - must have left at half time - thought the score was 2-0 - either that or the dreaded ALS
  11. additional search confirmed FRIENDLY INTERNATIONAL 15/10/1958, Norwich, Carrow Road, 38.000 ENGLAND U23 3-0 CZECHOSLOVAKIA U23 [HT 2-0] Scorers: Bobby Charlton 2, Jimmy Greaves ENGLAND U23: Alan Hodgkinson [Sheffield United] [7/0] Jimmy Armfield [c] [Blackpool] [7/0] Tony Allen [Stoke City] [2/0] Maurice Setters [West Bromwich Albion] [6/0] Melvyn Scott [Chelsea] [2/0] Wilf McGuinness [Manchester United] [2/0] Peter Brabrook [Chelsea] [5/1] Jimmy Greaves [Chelsea] [6/7] Joseph Baker [Hibernians-SCO] [2/0] Bobby Charlton [Manchester United] [2/5] Albert Scanlon [Manchester United] [2/0] Referee: Alsteen (Belgium)
  12. More info from Google A crowd of 38,000 saw an Under-23 team including legends Bobby Charlton and Jimmy Greaves play Czechoslovakia in the 1950s, while the Under-21s have been to Norwich three times and won all three matches. They include a 4-1 against Denmark in a European Championship qualifier in 1983, and 4-2 against Greece in the second leg of a play-off in 1997, as well as a 5-0 friendly win over Slovakia on their last visit three years ago. Who can remember the score against Czechs - I think 2-0
  13. Yes we have - England v Czechoslovakia a long time ago - might have been 1958 - People with a long memory might help me Could have been an under 23 International - think it was
  14. "]It''s not the first time they''ve caused a bit of trouble for our country or county, and we need to show them we won''t just stand back while they take our manager. Who''s with me?If you''re reading this, Angela Merkel, "Nein Danke! Paul Lambert is nicht ein Berliner, If you drive your Audi or your BMW today, you''re basically a binner. That is all. After knocking us out of the world cup and starting 2 world wars - this is the last straw The people of Norfolk ( and Suffolk) must pick up their pitchforks and take positive action - show them that we mean business Boycott their cars and boycott the Munich Beer Festival -no more Bierschinken, Bierwurst, Blutwurst, Bockwurst, Bratwurst, Braunschweiger Cervelat, Frankfurter, Knockwurst; knackwurst, Wienerwurst and Weisswurst Do their worst, stuff their sausage hit them where it hurts. Ban Germany dishwater drink English real ales They will then realise they are not having Paul Lambert
  15. ]Suck? Surely he''s just kissing it!! Does it really matter - as long as ke''s getting pleasure from it - who cares
  16. That actually looks and sounds really good. Just if Lambo read these MB'' At times in the first half against Scunthorpe we had Martin , Holt and Hoolahan out of the game when Scunthorpe had possession This gave plenty of wide space to be exploited Hoolahan dropped deeper in the second half and we were more effective as a unit- Wes ran the game Given that Matin cannot head the ball and loses 50% of the balls played to him we should make Holt the main target man Martin can then play deeper and use his work rate when the opposition have the ball 1-4-1-2-1 with Martin and Holt would give us more possesion and we would be a tighter unit especilally when playing the top sides
  17. Live close by Scunny - 25 miles and their tickets were on sale on Monday 19th July Thought that with only 1700 tickets for sale I would get one as a ''local'' must see the first away win of the season
  18. I would fully support your camapaign to achieve segregated standing area In the meantime,, whilst promoting your cause, can you all please sit and allow those wanting to sit, those unable to stand, children and height challenged people to see the game they paid for. I wish you every success with your campaign
  19. I got a flyer and was parked just by Leeds Road but I was stationery for 30 minutes and took an hour to move a mile Don''t think they are used to big crowds at the Galpharm - didn''t help with all the ''Cheerio'' locals leaving 10 minutes before the end. Anyone else have worst problems - Some good reviews of the match on here but don''t agree with posters calling Forster for the first goal City''s midfield controlled the game in the second half after strolling around in the first - Lambert certainly got the work rate up and the substitution helped us. we looked like the title winners after the break 3 cutting edge goals - all created by great teamwork and decisive finishing Chris Martin is still young and although he''s scored 20 this season will benefit from the challenge from Elliot - his last two performances have been below par - but he will bounce back One word about the tremendous support - this was only my second away game (Exeter) and the 3000 were brilliant - great noise , great songs, great support -definitely worth a goal to our lads
  20. I think you are telling us that we will not lose a point if we win 22 consecutive games If you are correct -we will win the league - OTBC
  21. I think we have a manager called Paul Lambert who is paid to make most of the calls you are discussing I am prepared to have faith in him to make the right calls on footballing ability and financial considerations relating to contracts and who plays for this football club - in whatever division The rest is hot air Good luck to all windbags No offense to those with medical conditions
  22. I agree that we need to beat the teams in the top 8 - the next 3 games might decide the automatic promotion spots We have Huddesfield , Millwall and Walsall Charlton have 2 from the top and Brentford away If we both win our games -We could still get an automatic spot but not so many games against the higher end teams remain If City win their games and Charlton falter, then the odds on an automatic spot improve dramatically If City fail over the 3 games - then its probably the paly off Don''t give me all that rubbish that nothing is won in January there are too many bum sides in this division and they are not going to take major points of Leeds and Charlton How many of you thought that City would not get relegated last season, right up to the Charlton game when the stats showed a different picture from 5 weeks away.... On the Ball City - now 3 straight wins and over take Charlton
  23. The Davitt article "Paul Lambert to Mix it Up contained the following quote from Paul Lambert ( talking initially about Gary Doherty.... "His response is what you look for from people. There is only one of two ways it can go. Either they want to prove that I am wrong or they won''t - and he and Wes (Hoolahan) have proved me wrong. They have been colossal. They didn''t come close to leaving in August and thankfully at this moment no one has phoned to inquire about them for that matter. its the thankfully no one has phoned to inquire comment that had me thinking - if another club showed interest would he be forced to sell? Why thankfully -surely he would just tell them they are NOT FOR SALE - full stop His language bothers me - anyone else of a similar view
  24. Four cup away draws- missed Carlisle or Morcambe -(1-1 in the League Cup/
  25. what a differnce in quality of the teams in the North and South Section Leeds have virtually a bye to the final - competing with Accrington, bradford or Carlisle Norwich could be happy with home tie against Hereford, although any home tie ( MKDons, or Charlton/Southampton) would be a money spinner during wc 14th Dec Away trips would not be so good but with 3 away cup draws so far - forgetting the League Cup ) we are due a home draw When is the draw?
