So whos applying for Chelsea?
Rob Sims replied to merson_dim's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I don''t know if i mentioned it on this thread or another one about ticket pricing. I''ve got my ticket but i am going with a mate who is a chelsea fan so we will be sitting in one of the home areas. I''m just excited to see Norwich play in the top flight. I hardly ever have the opportunity to see them at Carrow Road because i dont have any sort of membership and live in berkshire. with so many (very big) london clubs in the premiership this is my opportunity to Norwich live a few times. I am on the list for Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea i have, and that just leaves Fulham which might be a bit more tricky. I will be in the home ends each time but my blood is yellow and green! -

The starting XI for the Premier League debut
Rob Sims replied to Aurelius's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I didn''t say irrespective but i think you''ll see at least 7 of the team that started against coventry. Ruddy, Martin, Whitbread, Tierney, Crofts, Hoolahan, Holt. I expect Barnett to be back in and probably -
The starting XI for the Premier League debut
Rob Sims replied to Aurelius's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think the starting 11 won''t be too disimilar to what ended the last subject to injuries, form and fitness. I think Lambert has hinted that they all deserve a chance but there are no guarentees. -
They probably have to be X distance away for safety of the players. Didn''t Chadwick have a disagreement with an advertising board.

Can Holt cut it in the Prem?
Rob Sims replied to I am a Banana's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I hope he can but we''re just going to have to wait to find out for sure. I made a bet with a friend whose a liverpool fan that grant holt would score 10 or more goals this season which he doubted. It will depend on how ref''s treat him. I distinctly remember the goal he scored against forest last season when we were 1-0 down. he ''jumped'' by basically clawing at Moussa (or possibly morgan) to get his head on goal. I think in the premiership that would have been a foul and the chance gone. fingers crossed he''s a legend and i can''t wait to see him go through Ashely Cole. -

I''m hoping to go to this one but i''ll be in the home stands as my friend is a chelsea fan. He''s looking into getting the tickets i dont know if they will be priced differently. i don''t get to see Norwich very often as i live in Berkshire. I always used to see them against Southampton and Reading when we were in the same leagues. Can''t wait for this to start, Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham and Chelsea all on my list of away games. I dont think i will be seeing many points acrued in these games! :D -
Just been in ticket office....
Rob Sims replied to wess right foot's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Won''t they offer 2 prices like they did before (from memory again so dont shoot me) If we stay in the premiership they will price it at X and if we are in the championship next season it will be charged at Y. To reflect the quality of matches on offer. Or if renewed early keep it static.. lots of options im sure i wouldn''t worry about next season, its all about this season! OTBC! -
Norwich City players in Fantasy League football
Rob Sims replied to Mister Chops's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
i''ll join the official premierleague one when it is available again. From memory i dont think it will be back up until a couple of weeks before the new season. I could be completely wrong though. Make sure you publish the joining code! -
I sadly think he will be picking the ball out of his own net alot this season so i wouldn''t count on an england call up.

opps got so excited i have put in 12 positions, we might need a 12th man eh Delia!

Getting back to on topic once all the mud slinging has finished which seems to have blighted this board with quite a few over sensitive individuals.....about what they know and don''t know. Quite excited about having him here, i have watched a few youtube clips and other huddersfield fans talk quite highly of him. Having two genuine wingers in bennet and pilkington will give us more options whether to switch between diamond, 4231 and 442. We will need that flexibility as i think it is what undone Blackpool by not changing their system (or not being able to adopt to a different system) when away from home. or for example when they''ve taken a 2-0 lead against united at home to shore up. Holt, Wes, Vaughn, Surman, Johnson, Fox/Crofts, Bennet, Martin, De Lait, Barnett, Tierney. Ruddy. Loads of options to interchange on form and fitness. Could do with another defender, ideally (for me) someone whose seen it and done it and perhaps fallen out of favour at an establish premiership club but still has a good 3 years left at the top flight. Can''t wait for the season to start cmon 17th spot!!!!

Merv - ive seen a number of your posts and nearly all are antagonistic. The OP states it was a discussion with a mate about a rumour and whether you would want Bendtner. It seems the majority on the board even if it was true, which it isnt because of the points you and spencer outline so well, laced with insults, would rather have Holt. And i would totally agree. Paul Lambert has stated he''s not going to go for player attributes that Bendtner outwardly exhibits, arrogance and poor work rate. I''d quite like cristiano ronaldo and messi, sadly their wages would sink the club in about 4months. Does that mean i think they would come? no, because they don''t fit.
-
I don''t rate bendtner, however there was the moment in the 1/4''s or second round of the champions league where he could have put Barcelona out. however he fell over instead. If he''d done that his value owuld be plastered all over the press and his head would quite possibly explode over his own ego. I remember the interview he did last year justifying his 52,000 a week (having not played more than 90minutes combined all season). And it was a sacrifice to play football as he couldn''t go skiing. Reading, Berks. Grandparents and mum lived in Thorpe St Andrew for most of their lives though.

Thats a great find NCFCPaul. haha, he/she has gone into some detail which is brilliant. I hope our Bricklayer can score 20 goals next season too. They admit he can score 20 at any level!woohoo!
Kick off mate, really kick up a fuss, complain to them... I would, if i didn''t have ANYTHING else to do...
Haha +1 In all likelyhood i would expect us to be in the championship season after next so i''d get used to the championship ''highlights''.

Paul Lambert - 3 year Deal vs 1 year Rolling Contract
Rob Sims replied to Wesbian's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
1 year doesn''t offer the individual much job security. I expect most managers knowing how fickle football is want as long a contract as possible so that when the enevitable axe falls after 1 bad season (or less if your board is managed by certain foreign owners. They get a healthy payout to live on while looking for future work. I imagine Lambert quite likes the idea of a 1 year rolling contract on improved terms for him and his team as they are on their way up. -
Official transfer idea thread summer 2011.
Rob Sims replied to Reykjavik Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I agree with all of this hoshke, out of all the places lambert needs to look at its defence. However the formation he chooses to deploy will determine what players he will go for. (obviously). I think we need 3 new defenders, at times our defence looks clumsy and slow. this was fine for the championship but in the premiership it will be prone to fiving away free kicks and in an around the penalty area we can''t afford that against drogba, lampard, rooney, van persie (the list goes on). I wonder whether Lambert will alternate between the diamond for attacking part 4-5-1 in defensive situations. With that in mind (from defensive 4-5-1) it will be Holt then two wingers + hoolahan + defensive midfielder (fox and new transfer) Plus our current defence but perhaps 2 more new defenders with prem or some top flight experience (somewhere) to come in and compete/replace with ward, whitbread, barnett & tierny. -
Current Kit now half price 10/11
Rob Sims replied to city4eva's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I meant cotton? I didn''t realise that so perhaps i don''t have that one. Did Colemans sponsor us significantly more recently, like mid 2000? -
I still have, and occasionally wear, the Colmans one from about 98! It''s Pony. Literally! Still, it is actually a nicer material than the modern ones, cotton rather than this artificial shiny stuff you get now.
Was it? I have a colemans one, home kit. not sure what year, was it only a one year deal with Colemans? I have the mobile phone company one, lotus away (green stripped) and another which i can''t remember. I will probably buy both last years and this years together when it''s eventually released. -
Holloway didn''t seem confident of keeping Gilks.

Swansea, Cardiff or Reading?
Rob Sims replied to ur just a man in a jacket's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I only live a few miles from Reading so i would quite like them to come up so that i can watch Norwich play, and perhaps get to see a few more premiership games live and cheaply. I will also try and make as many of the london based games Norwich will have this season as several of my firends are members or Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham and Chelsea. I would expect Norwich''s matches not to be the top price ticket in town! I guess it would also be good for the town of Reading to have a premiership football team again. Wales. Dont care.
