1. Not keen. Looks rugby league on Hanley, but imagine he makes most kits look like that
2. Hey all, Great post chicken! Just posted about my thoughts and feasibility on a Ollie plus cash for Max deal. I also think Ajer and Billing are more than just rumours. My dream would be we can do business with all of these. I think Trybull, Klose, Thompson and Drmic will all be gone next couple of weeks, so chopped them. This would leave a squad like this (I've updated squad with existing business, and removed those who have gone out on loan, and added my dream deals): GK: Krul, Gunn, McGovern, Oxborough,CB: Hanley, Gibson, Ajer, Zimmermann, Omobamidele(19), Bushiri, Famewo.FB: Mumba(19), Byram, Giannoulis, McCallum(20). CM: Rupp, McLean, Sorenson, Gilmour, Skipp, Billing, Sitti,AM/Wing: Rashica, Dowell, Cantwell, Hernandez, Placheta, Sinani.Str: Pukki, Hugill, Idah(20), As I have said in another post, I think this would leave SW with about £17.5 mil AND a prem loan slot to get another FB, and possibly another Striker (this is where I let myself down- think both need to be German. Feels weird having so few German's in the squad!). I think he'd do ok with those constraints! What a squad that is...
3. Hi all, Long time no see. I've been lurking... I hate to say it, but think many of you way off... Surprised no one has used or quoted the website Transfermarkt (not a typo). Now, I do think they sometimes under-value, but they have Max as the highest value premier League based English player (as Sancho hasn't gone through yet!) Who is 21 or under, at £22 mil. Ollie is at £10 mil. Now if we did see SW stick to his guns, and hold out for £30 mil for Max, that is a 35% (ish, mental arithmetic!) Inflation of that value. If you did the same with Ollie, he'd be £13.5 mil. On that basis, if the Ollie plus cash for Max deal happens (which I am dearly hoping for!), £17.5 mil, plus Ollie for Max, with maybe a buy back clause of £25mil for Spurs might be good for all concerned. I don't think that's too unrealistic? I would certainly trust SW to get a decent replacement for Max with that £17.5 mil, maybe even a striker out of that too. Billing and Ajer for a combined £25-30 mil, and I think all that business would be stonking. Ajer could cover CB and DM, Billing DM and AM, and the squad would have some great flexibility. Ollie in, new RB and a striker... Plus the 5 already in. This to me would be the ideal rest of the window scenario, and a squad with more than a fighting chance. Think we'd soon be forgetting Max and Emi. Any thoughts?
4.

strangely, i was thinking about this earlier- what about an offer to pay his wages for this season (£80k per week i believe) With a fee of £14 mil if we stay up? With us being debt free this autumn onwards, and next seasons TV money being astronomical, is this really beyond the realms of possibility? If Carroll could agree wages more in our long term budget for the following season, tied with a severance package with Liverpool, why would we have less of a shot than say West Ham? This is all supposition that he loves Hughton though. And please, for anyone who suggests that Holt is better, just you see Carroll in a system that suits him... I still rate him
I''m sure it''s beyond the realms of possibility for us to be debt free if we''re paying wages like that.
But what if he got a fat pay off from Liverpool and just wants to get his career back on track, abd took something like £40-£50k a week moving forwards with Norwich. Of course, he''d have to live with Holty. He was at his best when living with Kevin Nolan... It is dream world really, but dear god we need a striker. I agree with earlier posts, one who could free up Holty wouldn''t be a bad shout, Holt is a great finisher, or alternatively a fox in the box type-- the one type we don''t have...

6. Actually, last year, fourfourtwo predicted we would finish... 12th. Well done guys (and girls)! I also remember before the season started Terry Butcher got ridiculed for saying Norwich and Swansea would be comfortable, and even push for top half... Top punditary!
7. I love the way things have been the last few years, and are continuing to be. Our board have installed an admirable philosophy, that I for one feel really passionate about. They pick the manager, they sanction the signings. People need to realise that in business, the big wigs plan a direction they want to go, and employ the staff to implement it. Come on, admit it, everyone has caught antiques roadshow on a sunday night and got that warm fuzzy feeling when an old lady picked up a jug for a quid from a charity shop and it is actually worth £10k!! Isn''t our playing squad a bit like that?! Everytime Fox pings a 50 yard pass from left to right i think "and he only cost like £25k!". I like that we take a chance on unproven talent and rough diamonds. The day we start getting "proven premier league talent" who don''t get this club, and don''t get what it means to us all is the day we''ll rue. Vegetables always taste better when you grow them yourself!
8. Just had a rant about this on twitter, was kind of insensed by one particular person giving McNally flack (see McNally''s last tweet if interested). Some people seem convinced we will be in a relegation dog fight next season without spending "big". I certainly do not feel we will be in any danger (the way our fixtures are I feel we will be down there to a point, but then will flourish and finish comfortably out of trouble over the course of the last 10 games). I feel the bigger picture is being missed. Footballers peak at around 28 (in general) right? Look at our squad''s average age. I think last season we had THE youngest squad, and are therefore probably there or there abouts this season. Misters Bennett (x2), Ayala, Pilkington, Johnson, Howson, Surman, Smith, Vaughn The keepers, and even Russ, Tierney, Jackson are well below that age. Which means that they can all potentially be even better this season. Law of averages suggests that they will. This is science! I do feel we could do with another striker and left back, but if that was all we were to add I would be more than happy to go with what we''ve got (sorry to coin that phrase, but I''m over it!). Although you can never be sure until the window passes, Hughton has done a massive thing in keeping the core of the squad together, and buy into the vision. The vision from what I understand is to form a group of special individuals with a point to prove and to grow together, develop an understanding. People need to realise this club is still on an upward curve, and by god the future excites me! Over the top as it sounds, but in 20 years time, I feel like we could be talking about the "Hughton Years" with great pride. The club has always had an ethos of being a "footballing" club, and It is great that this is coming back after being on our knees. Our playing squad is being filled with so many admirable and easy to support individuals. Ok, there may be the odd individual who still puts hearts in mouths, but I don''t feel like any of the younger players aforementioned fit that bill. I feel like my own attitude is changing towards things like misplaced passes, speculative shots, passing it sideways or backwards instead of forwards because I feel like many members of our playing squad are developing into fantastic players before our eyes (whereas previous squads over the last 10-15 years contained players that were a crock of sh*t), because it is all part of the bigger picture and part of their development. Norwich City Football Club finished 12th last year in the Premier League and were only just finding their feet. We had a manager who experimented all season, and was never sure of his best eleven. Now see what happens now we have a manager coming in who is clearly going to build on this and take things forwards. I feel like all the good things about our club are going to be embellished in the months to come. Paul Lambert was a great man, and I''ve no doubt he will improve Villa''s fortunes (unfortunately). I do not begrudge him this, as I do not think it will have any impact on the Norwich City growth. Finally we have a canvas for ambitious individuals to grow, and we all need to remember the club will not be left behind. We will grow with the players. We have a self sufficient business model, a board that really gets the club and doesn''t view us as a play thing. How awesome is it to celebrate victory, and not expect it? How awesome is it to be gracious in defeat, because our players gave it their all. We really are a dying breed and a rareity of a club, and when it goes tits up for the football business model, it is us and a hanful of other clubs that will be laughing. Enjoy the ride guys, and take the flack with a pinch of salt. We will be envied, we will break hearts and even be hated. "How do they do it? They''ve got a fat b*stard up front? They only pinch Leeds players anyway. They haven''t spent anything?" I can''t wait!
9.
DDD, did you see the free-kick ?
Was it such a good freekick that it made you stammer?
10. ...any players whilst on the Germany trip last year? Or can I try and be a little less vigilant with the internet for a few days?! I have a horrible feeling we signed Simeon Jackson, and I will have to keep searching for breaking gossip intently...
11. Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone recommends the NCFC text alerts? They are being advertised at what seems a reasonable rate to me on the offy site... how punctual are they etc? particularly interested at the moment as would like to get alerts pronto when new signings come in!
12. tell you what, has anyone read the full report? Cardiff are losing most of their squad, they are screwed! one or two that i would love to have in the squad there... chris burke anyone?! would be great impact sub for a freebie
13. I went to a Q and A with Lambert a few weeks ago and he did actually answer very in a very honest fashion when asked if he could pick any player from another championship side who would he would have (this was a day or two before 1p5wich...). Talked about Graham and Long (also said he wouldn''t be interested in taarabat, didn''t fit into his philosophy), but finished by saying it was a close call for him between Bothroyd and Bellamy, either of those two, but didnt think we could ever afford either! Bellamy if he had to choose... Not sure we could afford any of long, bothroyd or bellamy though... sounds like CMS is a done deal though, and I wouldn''t complain, would be a great addition to the squad!
14. Who knows what I''ll go for, I''ll just live in the moment! I like it on the odd occasion you see someone get a players name before they''ve played for the club... There must be someone out there with HELVEG 2?!
