  1. It might be getting into the realms of an old git song coming from 20 years ago! Fun fact, the 'Mom' from the video was married to Rod Stewart at the time 😂
  2. Yeh I see what you mean, I only had the melody in my head. I do however think it needs an enshrined Aarons and Stoke diss (just think it would be funny to have unsolicited beef 😂). How about: "Stacey's runs have got it going on, We got him on a free, and some money for Air-Rons, Stoke city can't you see? His goal against you gave us glee, His shirt number is wrong, But we're in love with Stacey's runs"?
  3. Been watching too much Ted Lasso mate 😂
  4. Sorry of someone beat me to this on social media, I don't do it (bar linkedin) Surely the article, no matter how clever has given the chance for the chant? Here is my attempt... "Stacey's Mum has waited for so long, For Jack to score a goal when playing for someone, At Norwich it came quick, Wagner's boys were playing slick, It might have just been Stoke but, but Jack has scored a goal for Mum"??? I know it's clean, but we can get banned for offensive chanting now you see...
  5. I seem to remember him saying he would never leave Bodo/Glimt in the lurch/midseason. When that came out when Farke left, I am sure I heard some of us speculating that we could get Woy in until end of Norwegian season as intermin. Loyalty Important etc. Not an issue at this current stage... Maybe the stars align. Perhaps even there is the kind of pedigree/'moneyball' approach there that could get Attanasio to invest into it...
  6. Doesn't make sense. Massive club who he is revitalising. Absolutely massive club with stadium nearly double the size of ours. Nothing to see here i would say.
  7. Norwegian season in off-season now, Bodo/Glimt second last season... Seems good timing for him to move on. Would certainly be my preference for our next HC
  8. If he keeps us up this season, and the next he'll be seen as a Messiah. If he has a bad run start of the following season, we'll bin him off too. That's football!
  9. Yep dig it. And not just Grealish: As I've said in another post; Target, Cash, Mings, Watkins, McGinn. Have fulfilled potential very organically under Smith. Would be excited to see what he can achieve with Cantwell, Kabak, Normann, Tzolis, Rashica etc... Might even play Gilmour. I would also say that if he'd been in since the start of the season, the tank/grenades etc, or whatever Webber's favourite battle analogies are, recruitment may not have been dissimiliar. Seems to be widely respected by football community, the club's he's been at, players who have played for him. I get people being underwhelmed, but this major upset over his appointment is ridiculous...
  10. I think Webber will say something along the lines of "when a manager of Dean's quality becomes available, you cannot pass up the opportunity". Also: "I've been a long time fan". I don't think the bloke does anything other than direct honesty, and there will be some truth in it. I genuinely think Webber had other people in mind when pulling the trigger on Farke, but Smith becoming available may have been spanner in the works, hence delay etc. Perhaps he deserves more trust than he is getting from majority on this forum?
  11. I think Smith could be really good for player development. Aside from the senior players, there is a lot of potential upside in our squad. Targett, Cash, McGinn, Mings... all players that have kicked on considerably under DS. Has to be worth something?
  12. Might be a bit like comparing apples to oranges... However, Dean Smith has a proven track record of getting a 4-3-3 to work in the Premier League. I think there is little dispute that the player recruitment was made with this formation in mind, but Farke seemed to struggle with it. Makes sense if we can't bring any more players in and need to utilise existing personnel.
