How much have we spent?...ever!
spencer 1970 replied to spencer 1970's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Nice one! đź‘Ź I'll get my calcapooter out. -
...surely one legendary statto on here knows or has an idea of what we've spent on player tranfer fees in our history, OR do you know a way of working it out? It cant be more than ÂŁ1m, ÂŁ2m tops before 1980 right?

Your "100% breaking the £10m" call hasn't happened once let alone twice yet my logic bypassing friend. The highest we paid this window was *£8.8m for Tzolis. The add ons may never happen. Never mind, I'm over it. We did well. Night. *Christos TZOLIS PAOK £8.8m + add-ons (source: er? The Pink Un). **It states £9.9m on Transfermarkt. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Fantastic. I'm happy if so, just to get Naismith off the top of that chart. It still makes me feel itchy. We still haven't spent £10m according to our own stats though. #decaphobic 💪🏼🤣

OK booster...but we haven't broken the £10m yet though have we? The big signings have all been £8m/£9m so Naismith and co a few years back is still our record signing. No biggie, as you were. "100%" 🤣

Bump. What happens here then as we still officially haven't topped £10m. 🤣 It may well tip over but it's not a definite. I've got to say I reckon we've done a great job on transfers so far...Webber has been very smart. Here's to that Norfolk (tight as a....) shrewdness, long may it continue...just with a tad more successful.

Do we still think that Max and Todd will be here come September? I'm 50/50 on both. Although it looks like we have the Todd-replacements now (incoming), it's not there for Max yet is it? I really can't see us landing Raschida AND Tzolis yet still keeping Todd...I hope I'm wrong.

Hope Sargent isn't true.

The American international has joined City for a fee just below their current club record. Tzolis' arrival would eclipse that. The signing of the precocious talent will see Norwich complete their business at the top end of the pitch unless a frontline option, like Todd Cantwell, was to depart. Jordan Hugill is expected to complete a move away from the club before the end of the window. -
I reckon Messi's off to Villa, as they're going to play 6 AM's behind Ollie Watkins.

Yeah but you're not considering me getting a shirt for the first time in 20+ years...there's often more to football than players being any good within stratergies and systems, theres my sartorial elegance on a Saturday afternoon to consider. Come on Scott! Make it happen!

Transfer Rumour Thread Season 2021/22
spencer 1970 replied to Alex Moss's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Wowza! I agree, an Emi on the left...saying that isn't Raschida a right footer on the left? Looking very left sided although we'll interchange as per. Maybe on will be central although, I do like Dowell there as can't see him anywhere else than in the hole as his tracking back/defensive work is not the best if he's on the right. -
I guess that could mean the Djed Spence move is off now as Scott will advise to hold off for the money we won't pay. Is that how it works Bethnal? (of Lewisham) https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/canaries-ncfc-djed-spence-linked-8188148 A personal shame for me as I havent had a shirt since the 90's so was looking at breaking my self-imposed ban what with my forname being "Spence", middle name "Ed" and the fact I've been a DJ since the early 90's. #itsanoutrage #sacktheboard

How many on here have got petrol/diesel cars like our Todd? He could buy some rather nifty electric motors with his money. I did. I'm not quite up to chartered flights yet though as the cringe would kill me.

I fear this won't be the last. I fear all is not going to be "back to normal"

Are QPR a massive club?
spencer 1970 replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
OUCH, this'll sharp. If you look at their form over the years, their ranking, what they've won you'll see that they're not a million miles away from the stature of us. Thems the facts lads. Ok we've a bigger attendance each week as we have a bigger ground, but I’m nor certain we have a bigger fan base. You must also take into account that our (miles away) neighbours are a Sunday league amateur side not the Champions of Europe and regular Prem winnings in Chelsea or a regular Prem outfit in Fulham, both right next door. Even the chap who wrote Mike Bassett was a QPR fan so didn’t want to make the infamous England manager (although he had in mind to have come from “that size” club), to have any QPR link…so after some research, he found the most similar club, and that was us. I think(?) we’ve also played them more than any other side, so proves we’re the same level-ish. For other similar sized clubs see also, Crystal Palace, West Brom and er until a few years ago, er?, I rather not say. -
Question, do you live in a cave and eat coal or is it that you simply don't get out much? This is pretty good and might help you move on from the 1950's you seem to be stuck in. Remember the episodes run from 1-10, they don't start from 10 like the two bigots I sent this two found out the hard way. Bless. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000l7q1/episodes/downloads

It's hard to think we'd be ahead of Palace on this one but a shame to think we weren't even in on this one. A perfectly formed NFC player and exactly the type we should be looking at.

I'd say thats a steal. The market certainly is down.
