Meanwhile in binner land
Graham Paddons Beard replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The train home on Saturday. Spirits were beginning to rise as a few of the Canaries had had a few more beers , a card school was underway , and a ladies hen party travelling back from London had joined in. However , the best part of the trip was pulling into Binland - and a few ITFC shirts were spotted . A happy rendition of “5.2 to the Wanderers” rang out from many carriages. Without doubt a highlight . Anyone that isn’t interested in the Binners , doesn’t remember the stick we all got when they actually had a decent side . Long may it continue to soften the blow when we lose. -
Shearer MOTD
Graham Paddons Beard replied to curious yellow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I like the classics “Yes , no , definitely” or “110%” Shearer is a dinosaur. He played when shirts were baggy , pitches were muddy and the ball had a lace in it .* *two of these are correct -

Makin , I recall, was a particularly odious sort who came on here to explain the intricacies of international pension funds and the minutiae surrounding the new structure of the ownership. I use the term odious for the following reasons . 1 Nobody asked for his, or any other other binner’s opinion 2 it was done in one of those awful “I come in peace” routines that everyone knows is cobblers 3 see point 1 -

He also thinks Kings Lynn are a local rival. Me, I think it’s Wroxham. I hate those guys with a passion. 😡 -
Listening to the fans in pubs , the train and at the match yesterday there is no suggestion of getting rid of Farke. Those of us that actually saw the game , saw a relatively poor Arsenal side who like others did not allow us to play the football that easily wins the Championship. In the championship this football creates enough chances to allow us to miss a few of them. In prem it does not . This is the issue that the fans are talking about . Not the noisy “it’s a disaster/ it’s all perfectly fine” fans but the thoughtful fans that have watched us play and have reached their own conclusions. Farke and his coaching team have yet to convince “football” that they can do so effectively in the Prem. this is what the media are saying , and this is what many Norwich fans are saying too. So whilst those questions can sensibly be asked , the debate will properly continue .There is every chance that Farke will demonstrate that he can given that he is a great coach and highly intelligent. Underneath the noise .

Drama Queens? I think you may be mixing us up with your favourite tv show Nutty . I hear RuPaul is very popular and well done for broadening your horizons ! 👏

Found it hard today. I love the emirates and a beer in the Old Red Lion , but we are just not competing- especially second half . Anyone that tells me to go and support another team can fùck off btw.

I’m sticking my entire Ncfc share portfolio (4 shares) on an Arsenal win . I’ll have 6 shares by Saturday evening . Kerching . So long suckers . -
Just to be clear - my comments about the about the appointment of Oliver is in keeping with the OP. POGMOL appointments are based on reasons that make little sense to ordinary football fans , but are part of the problem . As I said at the time the ref for the Leicester game (who was predictable in his reluctance to give “big” decisions ) was a classic POGMOL appointment . Jones had done around 8 prem games (his first year ) in 2020 none of which involved any of the big clubs. So they give him Norwich Leicester . Fast forward to a game where all media eyes will be watching - Arsenal bottom of the league (repeat ARSENAL) , possible Arteta’s last and , hey presto , up pops Oliver . Why ? Are the laws different ? Is it a cup final? No , it’s because the English Referee establishment make these decisions around spotlights. And watch out for the “get up” gesture that all refs have been briefed on this year following generally excellent refereeing performances in the Euros. Why didn’t POGMOL admit that they give unnecessary “contact” free kicks that top European refs stopped giving years ago? Premier league football advances have left the English referees behind .
