  1. It was always unstoppable, whatever the Labour party did - not that I want to be defending the Labour Party who were utterly useless IMO. But they were effectively irrelevant and certainly never actually never attempted to stop Brexit itself. The other thing they, in conjunction with quite a few of the more intelligent Tory MPs (who were concerned about the national interest) did attempt to stop was Theresa May's atrocious deal. Only for Johnson to 'purge' the dissenting Tories (as in any good elective dictatorship) and agree an even worse 'oven ready' deal with the EU which he had no intention of implementing and hasn't attempted to implement. This is a problem entirely of Johnson's making and the lying scumbag is the one that needs to sort it out and implement what he signed up to, or watch the EU blow up the whole trade deal which they are entirely entitled to do and definitely moving towards.
  2. You may believe that but it is totally irrelevant in a discussion about Brexit - 2 Tory PMs (actually thinking about it - 3) took all the relevant decisions and all three of them were driven entirely by the interests of the Tory Party with no regard for the country's best interests. That is something that they were frequently accused of at the time and subsequent events have proven it to be the case.
  3. That is one massive 'apart from' 😂
  4. That is exactly right, the 'closest' they ever came to a tech-only solution was the suggestion that one could be developed in few years time - a suggestion that wasn't viewed as likely or credible by anybody else for very obvious reasons.
  5. Duh, you need to stop reading the Torygraph and start reading a real newspaper - I'm afraid it is you who are completely wrong: The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is a regional trade organization and free trade area consisting of four European states: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.[4] The organization operates in parallel with the European Union (EU), and all four member states participate in the European Single Market and are part of the Schengen Area.[5] They are not, however, party to the European Union Customs Union. The full article is here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Free_Trade_Association if you'd like to read a bit more in order to regain contact with the real world.
  6. Without doubt - the summer transfer activity which has undermined Farke was Webber's responsibility, but as is so often the case, when the boss messes up it is one of his subordinates that becomes the fall-guy. Pretty cynical by Webber but perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised by that.
  7. There seem to be more and more indications appearing that the EU have finally lost patience (and they've been patient way beyond anything the UK had any right to expect) and are not going to put up with our muppets Frosty and Johnson telling lies and barking threats any longer - more and more suggestions than if the UK invokes Article 16, as expected, that the EU could collapse the whole trade deal - that would be painful for them but absolutely catastrophic for the UK so I guess the calculation is that some short term pain for the EU is still far preferable to the ongoing sh*t from Frosty. No idea what would happen in Ireland but I suspect it would bring a unification referendum significantly forward as it must be clear to everyone now that Johnson simply has got nothing whatsoever to offer NI - he sold them down the river in 2019 with a 'solution' he never intended to implement and he has rejected every opportunity offered to improve it. Not entirely sure why, presumably he's afraid of the RWNJ MPs in his own party who despite being exceptionally dim have nevertheless finally realised that Johnson played both them & the DUP for the fools they are and they are not very happy about it 😂
  8. 👍 Agree with everything you said but just thought I'd make that addition for the sake of completeness 😀
  9. Think that is exactly right - the Bundesliga is still a proper football league, unlike the Premier League charade/reality TV show which features very expensive 'made for TV football based content'. And Farke is a proper football coach who wants to play real and exciting football, so after the initial disappointment at his treatment here wears off, I would imagine he will be far happier playing real football in the Bundesliga, after all who wouldn't be - accountants excepted of course.
  10. I think its highly unlikely that we'll see Daniel managing in England again - he has always made it pretty clear that he wanted go back to Germany eventually and he also said that Norwich would be the only English club he would ever manage. Just as he also said he has never and would never break a contract with a club. Daniel strikes me as a man who keeps his word, in marked contrast to the fork tongued Webber.
  11. I think that is the issue - a year ago I would have agreed completely with you, especially as for a variety of reasons there were various obstactles in the way of Starmer really making his mark as Leader of the Opposition, none of which were his fault. But over the last year, whilst still far from normal, he has had many opportunities to make his mark as Leader of the Opposition and potential PM and yet he seems to have gone backwards in the public perception. Whilst I realise that it is a pretty difficult job opposing a very unscrupulous government with an 80 seat majority, nevertheless when said government is winning highly contentious votes in the HoC with around 250 votes there appears to be seem badly wrong with the opposition. But what really annoyed me and triggered my rather gloomy post is that Starmer still seems to cling to the naive, and IMO utterly mistaken, idea that Labour can beat the Tories at the next election on thei own own. Whereas (again IMO) unless Starmer grasps the very simple idea that he can only win through co-operation with other opposition parties I don't think he has any chance of success at all, because even if the voters do eventually wake up to the misdeeds of the Tories I do'n't think that they will all drift back to Labour. I think there are already signs that both the Lib Dems and the Greens in many areas are more likely to take votes from the Tories than Labour are, and also that Labour themselves are losing supporters to the Greens. I just don't see it working unless Starmer stitches together some sort of opposition alliance, and soon..
  12. Presumably Webber has already got someone lined up - if it is Pep then fair enough, let's give him a chance to show what he can do. If Webber has got anyone other than Pep lined up then he can go **** himself as far as I'm concerned.
  13. I'm pretty sure it will turn out to be the wrong decision but I entirely agree with your second paragraph. Just for clarity I think it is highly unlikely that a new manager will keep us up, even less likely than than Daniel keeping us up, but if a new manager does somehow manage to keep us up by playing the same dull, negative, cynical cr@p that passes for football at most Premiership clubs then it will still be the wrong decision IMO, because I don't give a stuff about staying in the Premiership - I want to watch my team play exciting, entertaining football and that is what Daniel has given us in spades.
  14. Exactly - why have we just thrown away nearly four years wages and more importantly the best manager we've ever had?? Of course he will get another good job which he fully deserves, but we aren't going to be getting another Daniel Farke. We are the losers in this and the fact that it is an entirely self-inflicted wound makes it pretty difficult to take.
  15. Think that would be the better option if the alternative is Frank Lampard's Norwich......
  16. I imagine he will be sold in January although I don't think he will see it as as a punishment, as presumably that is what he has been angling for these last few weeks. Great shame as his transfer value has presumably plummetted since the end of last season but there are usually a few Premiership strugglers desperate enough to pay silly money in January so let's hope we get lucky.
  17. As far as I'm concerned its really simple - Webber out!!
  18. I think you'll find he is bomb proof - he'll walk into a much better job than NCFC whilst we'll be watching dull negative football.
  19. Yep, the same Webber that was saying a week ago that Farke wasn't going anywhere - should have benn him on his bike and Farke staying where he was. Our pant wetting fans should also take a huge part of the blame but ultimately Lakey is spot on - this is a huge and bitterly disappointing loss of nerve in the boardroom which is going to damage Webber's reputation (and the club) far more Farke.
  20. Exactly this - best manager this club has ever had and almost certainly the best manager we will ever have. Truly awful decision and one the club will doubtless come to regret, quite bizarre that is Daniel who is going rather than Webber who is probably going at the end of the season anyway. Season over as far as I'm concerned.
  21. Anyone found a decent riverlet? None of the usual flowing bodies of water seem to be working this PM?
  22. Agree with every single word of that which is no surprise since we are clearly of a similar age and were taught exactly the same values.
  23. I think you'll find you were imploding rather than exploding and with a whimper rather than a bang - of course, given your complete lack of self-awareness you maybe don't appreciate the difference but the rest of us certainly did, and to be perfectly honest I suspect most of us rather enjoyed you making a complete fool of yourself 😂
