  1. Johnsson? I''m a bit confused. Are you moaning about the Charlton player Jonatan Johansson, or our own Mattias Jonson?
  2. We know Bentley is a young, inexperienced player who has a lot of potential. It''s a steep learning curve in the Premiership for all players new to it. Even steeper if you''ve not even played ten first team games in your entire career. Personally, I think his first touch and control is excellent. When the ball is at his feet he can retain possession all day. It''s when he moves the ball on that he lets himself down, giving the ball away far too cheaply. He needs to simplify his passing. Pass and move, pass and move. Then try the flashy through ball when there is the opportunity, not when we have been defending for the last ten minutes. We are going to have to forgive Bentley his silly mistakes if we want to see him reach his potential with Norwich this season. Like the goal at Newcastle, the near miss at Old Trafford etc. He won''t improve in the reserves, so if he''s not in the first team we may a well not have him at all. I think he can have a huge impact here. But he''s in a team that''s been changing every week, so we must be patient.
  3. I thought Holt''s second half preformance when he played mainly on the right side of midfield was very good. His first half on the left side was a bit poor though. This narrow midfield of Safri, Holt and Francis left a chronic lack of width. Not to mention a lack of attacking options once Hucks got isolated on the left wing. But once Worthy got them to raise the tempo in the second half and push Francis on more we looked very threatening. Hucks needs a proper strike partner though - but Doherty is our best option at present if McKenzie isn''t going to get the nod from Worthy.
  4. I didn''t know Sven Goran Eriksson was in the Norwich end.
  5. Did anyone else watch the post-match interview Spurs manager Jacques Santini gave? He referred to our Darren as "Huckleberry"!Classic.
  6. Couldn''t agree more Helsinki canary. Another great away point. Credit to Nigel Worthington on lifting the players at half time. He sent them out to give a Spurs a real fright in the second half. If only the board had given Worthy the cash for a second striker. Hucks can''t do it all on his own up front all season. Green played a blinder in front of Eriksson too.
  7. Fool, I thought pretty much the same thing when I saw yesterday''s results come in. But I think Blackburn will sort themselves out though. And as Zipper says, october will really be a big month for us. It still bugs me that we didn''t beat Palace on the opening day as we should have done though. It was interesting hearing Sam Allardyce on Football Focus yesterday. He was saying how he never plays new foreign signings at the start of the season anymore, having seen how long it takes them to adjust to the pace of the game to the cost of the team points-wise. Bolton are currently third. I guess Worthy has just learnt that lesson the hard way as well.
  8. I think I''ve changed my avatar image about five times. Mine is from the BBC website. I had wanted to use my Ginger Pele one but it was way too big. Then I used an animation of a hamster running on a wheel to represent the Pink''Un server, but they seem to have sorted out their problems so it seemed a bit unfair. I looked through loads of fire images but found nothing decent surprisingly enough.
  9. It wasn''t so long ago that we had that pathetic strike threat either. It''s all getting very boring now. It''s no surprise that Beckham is accused of being the ring leader. He has become increasingly paranoid and childish about his treatment by the media. These players are happy to make millions through endless endorsements promoted through the press. But when it comes to being judged on their sporting performances they can''t hack it. After a reasonable result they could have acted like men and taken some praise along with the criticism. But now I hope the tabloids give them all that''s coming to them.
  10. Good pic''s Fool. The roof structure has been added since the Arsenal game. I''m still wondering how they will match up the differing dimensions of the two-tiered River End to the one-tiered Jarrold Stand. Has anyone seen the plans?
  11. As I don''t read the tabloid press, would someone be so kind as to post a link to the story or stories featuring Delia and her feud with Henry? Thanks.
  12. With today''s news that the Coventry deal is off and Malky sounding very angry, your words sound more and more prophetic Fatman Fat.
  13. Fatman Fat - For what it''s worth I appreciate your post and your opinion. I think it''s very odd that Malky has gone at this time, and a fall-out with the manager seems the best explanation. If Malky didn''t feature in Worthington''s plans at the end of last season he would have been out through the revolving door with Iwan, Easton, Rivers and co. The revenue would have been essential for new signings. But for Malky to feature in the pre-season gives every indication this was not the case. I don''t see much difference between Mackay''s situation and Edworthy''s. Both were expected to be pushed for their starting places by new signings. Edworthy got the chance to win his back, but it seems Malky has been denied his. I think that''s a huge shame for a player who has contributed enormously to our current position as a club. Only time will tell if this is a poor decision on Worthington''s part.
  14. I feel it would be very unwise to let Malky go. We do not have any sort of strenght in depth defensively. So far I''ve seen nothing Fleming has done that Malky couldn''t do better. Doherty had a patchy track record with Spurs at centre back, Helveg has had a modest start with us, and Shackell is too inexperienced. Keep Malky. He played superbly against Spain on Friday night and showed he can compete against the best.
  15. This is from a report in today''s Guardian: " One website poll yesterday had 95% of English fans calling for his [James] removal from the team. Robert Green of Norwich won 25% of the vote to play, with Paul Robinson of Tottenham getting 20%. The remainder opted for a category entitled "Anyone but Calamity James" ". http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,1297924,00.html
  16. We''re lucky enough to have friends who live in Bracondale who they let us park in their driveway. When the weather is nice, like it has been of late, we''re happy to walk to the ground instead though.
  17. I''ve just watched England draw miserably against Austria, and it''s so obvious that Hucks is miles better than most of the attacking players England had out there tonight. Also, David James played like a schoolboy. In fact that''s an insult to schoolboys, who I''m sure are capable of keeping their eye on the ball. Greeno must be gutted he can''t get in the team ahead of this donkey.
  18. I don''t think big Malky should be ruled out just yet though. I''ve just been watching him play for Scotland against Spain and he''s having a very solid game at the back. It''s currently 1-0 to Scotland!
  19. Another query. In the "Forum Settings" I have ticked the box marked "Standard Options - Colorpickers, table editor + all other options" so that emoticons don''t appear on my screen. But they still do appear.Luckily I can use Adblock on Mozilla Firefox to block images out. But I think other people might find emoticons annoying after a while - especially if they can''t turn them off.
  20. Pro Evo is the daddy when it comes to football games. But be warned, it is VERY addictive. Fifa is a solid footy game to have in reserve, and has a more authentic presentation. Fifa is much easier though, which is fine when your mates are round and you want to hack down each others players to your hearts content when the scoreline reaches 9-8.But Pro Evo is where the real football is played.
  21. How do I switch the "EMAIL-ON" button at the bottom of my post to "EMAIL-OFF" please?
  22. As Kent Canary says, there is no facility to put cameras on the City Stand even if we wanted to move them there. I agree with you though Tumbleweed, the City Stand does look tiny on tv from the high view from the Jarrold Stand. But that''s because it IS a tiny stand! A second tier should have been built as part of the original construction. It shows just how hard up the club was back then. But if the tv cameras "give the impression we are a small town club taking on the big boys in some David v Goliath cup tie" then judging by our league position after playing 3 of the Premiership''s Goliaths then that is about right.
  23. That''s an old picture! Nothing exclusive about that. What I want to know is how the builders are going to match up the new two-tiered infill (which matches the River End) to the one-tiered Jarrold Stand?
  24. The current one is pretty good. Nothing too flashy, which is a good thing. My personal favourite has to be the kit we wore when we won the Milk Cup.The dodgiest has to be the one we finished third in the Premier League in. Maybe it dazzled the opposition defenders? Still, great memories.
  25. I see you''ve been making a few changes. It''s going to take a while to get used to this.
