  1. You should. He's given us some incredible memories, responsible for some of the best players to have played here and left the club facilities in a significantly better situation than when he arrived. As much as I believe he should have gone after the last Premier League relegation, the day he leaves should be marked as a sad one for the club and a definite end of a period of time which has seen some incredible times.
  2. This is spot on, nail on the head stuff. Couldn't have put it better myself. I take a little issue with this. I think Sargent has greatly benefitted from the presence and mentoring of Barnes.
  3. I appreciate your grasp on this game is particularly questionable but I would have thought even you would know that a sporting director doesn't actually play football for the club.
  4. Fits the profile, without a doubt. Experience developing youth, plenty of contacts, young, up coming, something to prove. He seems a very good appointment on paper.
  5. What absolute ****. Hardly a surprise from this poster though. **** off back to your kids football.
  6. ...except to both read and reply to a thread about him, which is exactly the way to show you aren't bothered by him anymore .... 🤣
  7. A bizarre line up. Substitutions that frequently make us worse. Defensively incapable throughout his tenure. There really are a number of fingers that can be pointed at Wagner. I think we're a side with a good first 11, but a pretty weak squad. Hwang has not impressed me at all. Stacey looks good bombing forward, but like Dimi, can be caught out defensively. I'm not ruling out that Forshaw may be the one, but a defensive midfielder has really been needed for about 4 seasons now. And Gibson and Duffy are both fragile as anything. Danny Batth needs to be brought in there ASAP. I think play offs are achievable. I'm starting to think that maybe to do it needs a change of manager and a rethink about how we defend.
  8. Have you watched Chelsea recently? 😂 But in all seriousness it's a good question.
  9. Think you need another shower mate. Get back in there and scrub that body like your life depends on it!
  10. A good cup run can foster confidence and cohesion too. Not to mention can be really great for fans who are enduing tough times in the league. I'll always remember a season we were utter dross in the league. It was when Chris Brown (the striker we signed from Sunderland) was playing for us. Somehow we got to the ... quarter finals? Fifth round? Can't remember. But we played against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Played okay for 60 minutes before I think they turned it on a bit more and we ended up losing 4-0. I'm sure we conceded two in stoppage time, although not sure. Was just nice to go to a match not feeling the inevitable sense of doom a bad league campaign gives you.
  11. Because this last week I've been contending with the sudden and unexpected death of a close family member which has meant I've strangely not kept up with who is cup tied and who isn't. I will make sure I punish myself for not meeting your standards.
  12. Remarkable stuff considering I once thought his brother was likely to be the break out star. Good luck to him tonight.
  13. Who had this turnip on the sweepstake as the first person over 50 to bite at my post?
  14. And how old are you, exactly? How many 16 year olds do you know to offer this vastly stereotypical view? I think if we raise the voting age to 21 for your reasons, we should also cut off the right to vote at age 50, given all above that age are out of touch, don't have a clue about issues facing the population and so embittered and perpetually offended they vote in ways which cause masochistic calamities like brexit, austerity and give us leaders like Boris Johnson and Liz Truss.
  15. Writing a player off after his first substitute appearance. Not to mention days after being on international duty in Saudi Arabia. Let's see what happens over the next 5/6 games rather than moving one of our best young players out of position just as he's starting to show his talent.
  16. No. Who cares about Pompey wanting to buy him. Given this topic has had five responses in 24hrs, not many.
