1. Born & bred in Cromer....but now, as the name suggests, living amongst the Blues & Reds of Liverpool - although actually living in a small village at the end of the runway at Liverpool airport....saw my first game in the early seventies with my Dad who was a die-hard fan.  Now raising a couple of my own - my lad is already a die-hard fan refusing to join his mates in supporting either blues or reds...Good lad!  Will be looking to take him to his first game at Tranmere in April...Actually get plenty of kudos for being a Norwich fan up here - for many obvious reasions, the Scousers seem to have a soft spot for Norwich.
 2. It was interesting to note that the original thread contained plenty of instructions as to how to access the stream...and thanks to the OP on that thread, a lot of people''s Saturdays were brightened beyond belief. Was Pete out shopping on Saturday or something as there was no attempt by any Mod to remove the "offending" details!!! [:D]
 3. That pitch is appalling....should''ve spent more time on looking after than printing those t-shirts eh?  Don''t think Doc would have scored if they had!!! [:D]
 4. Just in from taking my daughter horse riding logged in & Martin scores number 2....What more can you ask....??!!![<:o)]
 5. Am I the only one who can see that Beckford is, in reality, a one-trick pony.  Yes he''s pacy but his ball control is appalling and his finishing is pretty wayward too.  I don''t see any huge bids coming in for him as once he''s playing at a higher level, he''ll be exposed for the poor player that he really is.   That goal yesterday was a classic case of lump it forward for him to chase, he got a lucky touch and that, coupled with the useless keeping meant he scored.I think Spainboy does have a relevant point about the Leeds defence, they are the key to Leed''s season - not Beckford.
 6.

Good, not sorry at all, West Ham deserved him!
attention seeking fool..... i don''t blame ashton one bit that he left, (obviously i would have been overjoyed if he''d stayed) he was miles better than the team he was playing in. I will always remember i was at QPR away in our first season back in the championship, and it was the usual guttless performance we came to expect in that year, the crowd we''re singing "what a load of rubbish!" Ashton turned round to the crowd and gave a jesture as if to say what more do you want me to do, He absolutely run his socks off that day by the way, head and shoulders above the rest of his team mates.......I think his strike partner was ian henderson ....Say no more!!!  shame we never got to see him and rooney up front for england
Go to hell dear. I''ve just said what many hypocrites on here were too timid to say..
WizAshton (at the time he was with us) was an young player, looking to progress his career - which for any quality player means pulling on your country''s jersey.   His move to Norwich was a gamble, which very nearly paid off, but it did enough to put him in the shop window once we were relegated.   There''s no way that he would have been considered for an England cap while playing in a very mediocre Norwich team languishing in the lower half of the Championship so he did what every footballer would do - he left.As for those trying to bring the loyalty card into this debate & Huckerby, I think we can safely say that Hucks was found out in the Premiership - a great player yes, but he wasn''t the mercurial talisman that saved us from the Championship.  Yes, he was loyal & yes he played his heart out for the team, but I would be seriously suprised if he was ever in the position to jump ship to (what was then) a decent Premiership team.Wiz, I wonder, have you ever moved job because the pay & conditions were more attractive?  Or did you remain in the same job from when you left school? It''s absolutely pathetic to see the comments on here from people slagging him off because he had the temerity to want to progress his career rather than stay at a club in a downward spiral to the lower reaches of the football league....
 7. Wish people would get over the move he made to West Ham.....it''s not his fault it was handled that way.   Blame the club for the shambles! He should have been here earlier and if we hadn''t messed around trying to get the price down, we might, just might, have been in a far better position today but hey, that''s life eh?Good luck to the guy, it''s a real shame as he could have been a classic English centre-forward in the Shearer mould...
 8. Scouser is NOT a term of abuse.  A "scouser" is someone born & bred in Liverpool.    Much like a "true" Cockney (born within the sound of Bow Bells), a true "scouser" will be born either on or just off Scotland Road in Liverpool (Scotty Road).A "chav" scouser is known universally as a "scally".Calling someone from Liverpool a "scouser" is in no way an insult - indeed, you might be considered ignorant if you spent all afternoon berating the Tranmere fans for being Scousers - any true scouser will tell you that Birkenhead is NOT Liverpool therefore anyone from the "other side of the water" can''t be considered to be a Scouser.   They''re known as Squirrels - from the Wirral....Hope this helps?
 9. If the club hadn''t made such a mess of signing him (ie mid-season instead of the start) - for financial reasons - we would probably still be in the Premier League.   Prudence with ambition cost us dear with Dean Ashton.   Best "proper" CF I''ve seen at Norwich since Chris Sutton''s days.I didn''t have an issue with his departure, again, it was in all probability arranged by the club to ensure a smooth transfer...If he is retiring it''s another case of so near...so far....
 10. Has to be Steve Bruce''s header against Ipswich...Closely followed by Gossy''s goal at home against Bayern - I think I nearly threw my Dad through the roof of the South/Jarrold Stand that night - I then got in trouble with my Mum for getting him ever so slightly drunk afterwards!!!Oh, and btw - Fashanu''s goal was not a fluke!
 11.
gary glitter has improved his techniques i see
[:D] [:D] [:D]Funniest post for years on this forum!!!

 14.

As said at the start of the topic, Lambert to me seems more of a Martin O''Neil than a Glenn Roeder.
Ha ha, perhaps you overlooked Sir Alex Ferguson. Blimey, you''re getting a bit ahead of yourself aren''t you ?
O''Neill tends to pick the 11 players on form and thinks about team shape first and foremost... Thats exactly what Lambert''s done here. Glenn Roeder dropped players and culled staff in a bid to stamp his authority on the club. Thus... Lambert strikes me as being more like Martin O''Neil than Glenn Roeder.
Ruddy good call Lambo.[Y]
I for one won''t be too bothered if he turns out to be O''Neill in disguise.  It''s about time we had a manage who actually has the balls to "manage" the team according to their ability rather than managing either by chuminess or by fear.Along with McNally who obviously doesn''t take any cr*p, it would appear that we''ve got a management team in that actually want to put decent team out on Saturdays.   Now if that means developing some of the teenage talent that we''ve got, then I personally don''t have too many issues with that.  It''s just a shame that, to paraphrase another thread on here, that we didn''t realise that we were doomed a lot earlier & start getting them used to life in Div 1 a lot, lot earlier.
 15.
Other than the League / Milk / Carling cup what other strange cup competitions have there been? I remember going to Crystal Palace for the semi final of the ?? Cup. It must have been around mid 80''s. About 2,000 people turned up and around 50 from Norwich. We lost. Can anyone remember what the name of the cup was? I think the final was at Wembley. Wasn''t there some kind of Watneys Cup back in the 70''s?
What a God awful night that was too...I hate Selhurst Park at the best of times but that was a grim night - City didn''t turn up at all if I remember rightly and we were utterly inept...
 16.
It''s hard to pick just one so here are the best bits   Gossy scoring the last goal in front of the old Kop  Walking across Carrow Bridge the night we played Arnhem, we had arrived  Marco Van Robbins scoring on his debut in front of the Clock End  Leaving the San Siro genuinely believing we would be back  Wembley 85  Bruce’s header in 1985  TOTL@PR  Iwan scoring in the Millennium Stadium  Southampton in the FA Cup Quarter final  Sunderland away the night we became Champions   And now the worst bits   Losing five nil at the filth Selling Darren Eadie Selling Craig Bellamy Selling Chris Sutton Selling Justin Fashanu Selling Kevin Reeves Fulham Charlton Loosing to Sunderland in the FA cup Semi Final Watching Sutch take a penalty at the millennium Stadium and then Darren Carter
Bury Green...are you me?????  Those pretty well match exactly what I would have put...
 17.
1986 when Ken Brown got us promoted.  I remember a good natured celebration.
I remember that one!!!  Was in the Barclay and clambered over the fencing to get onto the pitch - caught my jeans and ripped them badly - only problem was I also caught the back of my thigh as well so when I rushed onto the pitch to celebrate I also had a pair of jeans that were somewhat soaked in blood!!!!Then had to travel home with my Dad - a main stand veteran of some years - without giving too much away about my hooligan pitch invasion activities!Happy Days!!!
 18. Would go with Arsenal or Spurs after a number of years living daaan sarf...Always had a soft spot for Fiorentina as well - Gabby Batistuta & his flowing locks......[:$]
 19.
Have you been travelling in a horse and cart? Yes - zzzzzzzzzzz - there is a strech of the A11 yet the be dualled, but I do Birm to Norwich in 2 & half hours at most. You can pretty much drive anywhere and back in England in a day. Why people get so hung up on this I don''t know. Tedious.
Couldn''t agree more - in the last 10 days I''ve done 4 journeys from my home just outside Liverpool to Sheringham.  Worst journey time was 4hrs 38mins - mainly due to the queues around Lynn, best journey time was 3hrs 28 mins - evening run.   It''s a 250 mile run so I consider that to be pretty average.  Yes it''s a long way but apart from that bit between Thorney & Wisbech, the rest of the run is usually pretty un-eventful.Our problem is that the people who moan about it being a "backwater" are the sorts of people who take the car down to the shop at the bottom of the street.    I remember when I was a kid, being more than happy to get a bus/train to Norwich to meet my mates for a pint & then head back on the last train.  If you suggested that to someone nowadays, they''d look at you as if you were mad.    The whole concept of travel is that it should be instant and that if you can''t get there in less than 20 mins it''s a backwater or in the middle of nowhere.I enjoy the drive down to Norfolk, I don''t see it as a bind.   I love coming back - the quality of life alone should be the massive attraction to anyone.  Sitting on the beach at Overstrand, I was thinking who the hell would rather be slogging around the back streets of Wearside....? [:^)]
 20. Hmm 3 yrs you say....?  Let''s see if mine is working still then?

 22.

Boosting your post count?
Coming from a poster with nearly 5.000 posts thats hilarious!
Its 300 less than 5000 and 6600 less than you.... and most of mine haven''t come from replying to my own thread twenty times to keep it up the page.... [;)]
FFS  [:@].   This is exactly the childish puerile rubbish that has led me to sign up to this excellent new site.   I truly hope the likes of you lot don''t pollute it with your name calling, childish antics.
 23. I always fancied myself as a bit of a Hoddle...standing around midfield, not expending too much energy, shirt out, socks down and just casually placing those killer passes...Or at least that''s what I liked to think....[:D]
