1. That is the nature of the game. How many games do you see where one team dominates 100%, it doesn''t happen, if it did football would become predictable and boring (Chelsea!). I think that tactics on behalf of both teams, forced substitutions and pressure etc. have something to do with it, thats why we watch it ! Although I joke about Chelsea even they don''t dominate for 90 mins do they? some people just want the "moon on a stick"  don''t they?
2. it was a good goal! There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance, I would suggest that most top footballers have an air of arrogance and if controlled in the correct way it is fine, in fact it is probably rather important in Pro footballer. Look at Rooney, he is arrogant and rather childish but you wouldn''t drop him from your team would you?
3. that''s bull***t, you boo whilst the team are playing and you are booing them, simple as that. They''re not really going to think "oh some of the crowd are booing the manager again" are they? What does a sub think when he hears booing? it destroys confidence and should not take place. Anyway, maybe the players have a lot to answer to, they are not perfect, it is not all down to the manager is it? Simple fact is we are playing avergage football and have the ability to improve, with more support they may improve. We don''t have a devine right to be top of the league you know. Sounds to me like some fans have got a bit arrogant recently, no fun in the fizzy pop league any more, discovered the taste for prawn sarnies !
4. I agree, what we need is to lift the roof for 90 mins and act as the hyperthetical 12th man. I understand peoples frustrations but can anybody tell me when booing has made a team play better? It destroys confidence in players and is not the correct way to voice your opinion. Worthington is right in saying we could have had a few more points this season, however i don''t think we are playing as badly as our position in the league suggests. On the ball.
5. I have this problem too, I can see it on the PC at work but not my PC at home, strange!   (Marty)
6. "I once sold beefburgers on Yarmouth sea-front Jim and it didn''t do me any harm - Summer of ''76, baking hot and the whole town full of young ladies in skimpy beachwear !!! " Mark. y. I didn''t think they''d invented skimpy beachwear back then? it was more like industrial sized pants and bras and all that. The reason I say that is because i''ve just got back from Zante and there were certainly some skimpy bikinis there, in fact my girlfriend wore the skimpiest ones of all but that''s another matter and she will not be impressed that I said that Anyway i am Martin (33), a synthetic organic chemist, I went to Uni for what seems like forever and got a degree and PhD in chemistry, great days but not that smartest move financially. I then worked at the University of Florida for 2 years and now I live and work in loughborough where I share my life with my better half and 3 delightful guinea pigs.
7. So "Damo for England" you expect me to take you seriously with that name? thats shows what your judgement is like!
8.
Worthy catagorically denied interest in him.
Re the Egyptian player; you mean Worthy is "in denial" That''s a joke if you didn''t realise!
9. Shardy, since you''ve already said it, you are a moron! booing players is counter productive, maybe ii is people of your ilk that has cost us our place in the premiership. What do you think booing does to players confidence? improve it? I don''t think so. So when you boo when a player comes on do you think they know you are booing the managers decision? As for watching Holt''s every move, this sounds rather personal and also a little un-healthy, I prefer to watch all the players, normally the ones with the ball are more intersting!
10. what''s wrong with Hull? I have many fond memories of trips to loads of less than glamorous venues and some great times. It''s not all about getting thrashed by Chelsea you know! I enjoyed our promotion year very much and don''t see why we can''t look forward to another season like that. Stop being so negative, of course i am cheesed off but life goes on. The simple fact is that being a true footy fan is not just about big games against big clubs, don''t tell me you didn''t enjoy last seasons 4-4 vs Rotherham or 5-3 at Burnley? well i enjoyed it more than our 4-1 loss against Arsenal.
11. Well i don''t mind sticking my head on the chopping block by saying that people booing the likes of Holt and Drury are sc*m (in my opinion). Unless a player has been outspoken and said some bad things and clearly doesn''t want to play for us why would you boo them? it is moronic and also affects the players morale and confidence. These players have given their all for NCFC, if you boo them you are a low life waste of space (in my opinion). if you are one of these who boo''s players and are not sc*m, please justify what you are doing and let me know how that sort of support helps out team?
12. He came on for about 10 mins and had 1 bad cross. I think bringing on a defensive midfielder is perfectly sensible, and that''s what Holt is. Your idea is also not too bad, however surely Helveg was also tired and I think it is better to have the fresher player in the midfield to cover more ground. So if Helveg moved to right wing he may have exposed the right back more because he''s not in a position to track back so much after 80 mins of a high tempo game. Just my opinion. The substitution made sense.
13.
Oooh how the tide turns hey! Not so long ago, everyone was having a pop at Mr Holt for being in the team, and now all of a sudden he''s a legend ! LOL! At least I can maintain the fact that I have bee...
I think it''s OK to have opinions about football but it seems you have a bit more malice too. You message at the bottom of your posts is puerile and not the sort of junk i would expect from a so called true fan. All these players give 100% when they play for Norwich and maybe you should have a little more respect for them. And no I wasn''t one of those people having a go at Holt over recent months. I have opinions about the quality of certain players, afterall that is one of the things that makes us take an interest in the game in the first place, but I am not so rude in voicing my opinions as you. Go and support Chelsea and do us all a favour! well maybe that''s not a good idea for you since there will be less players to slag off.
14. well said, I agree totally and am ashamed of some of these so called fans slating Holt for doing nothing wrong. We won the game so why are we still looking for a scapegoat? What short memories some of you have.
15. alex, shame you''re not in football management! There''s me thinking the other players might have a big part in influencing the outcome of the game? For a minute I thought Holt had scored an own goal. Give the guy a break.
16. Canarychick, i''m glad you''re not the manager then!Canarychick |
17. I don''t see what is wrong with attempting to protect a lead since in our previous game we didn''t do that and paid the price. By inevitably Gary will get grief since there is a correlation between him coming on and us letting a goal in! also what about Jonson? should he have been brought on too?
18. You lot having a go at the Holt substitution are winding me up, we''ve just won a great game and you still can''t resit a little dig at Holt. OK maybe this will answer why he came on, Bentley is not 100% fit and is also defensively a little light weight and after Saturdays result were were threw away a lead by being too attacking, Worthy decided to bring on a hard working more defensive player, make sense? As far as I could see there were about 4 Norwich players around Kleivert as he scored, maybe they are all guilty too? If Worthy hadn''t of made a substitution and we conceded he''d get grief, when he does he still gets grief! Just enjoy the result and stop moaning at a player who didn''t do anything wrong - pathetic.
19. I''ve also got the impression over the years that he has some "issues" about his Norwich years. Not sure why he should have such a chip on his shoulder but most players would be proud of their past, especially since he had some fine years with Norwich. Maybe we are not worthy to have witnessed his greatness at carrow road? At least we keep our record at Munich, I did cheer when Bayern equalised.
20. Don''t get me wrong, it was a great result yesterday but it was largely down to an inept Man U performance too. Safri was pretty good but was lucky not to get booked and Helveg was no more than adequate, positionally he was not too good but will improve with an extended run, he is also week in the air. But I think it was a good team performance and not a result based on having 2 different players in the team.
21. it''s fairly purile to think that dropping these 2 or 3 scapegoats we have a premiership quality team. So who, from your remaining list of players, are of true premiership class? Is Francis any better than Holt? Is Doherty / Helveg better than Flemming? is Huckerby really pulling his weight on the left wing? Is Leon good enough to score in this league? get my point? I''m not having a go at players merely pointing out to all you budding mangers that maybe the solution isn''t quite the childs play you believe it is. Some players are not good enough, I agree but this moronic witch hunt will achieve nothing. So from that point of view IN!
22. maybe If lived near Norwich and was 90 years old I could claim to be such a big fan, but I don''t and i''m not! Anyway, I don''t doubt your support, i just disagree with a majority of your posts, I won''t mention the hospitalised Gary holt one! And let''s face it I bet when you post you know you are being confrontational or controversial? You have strong views, why not respect other equally strong views? some might actually be OK, I mean there is not always a wrong or right answer, football management is more subtle than that. People have strong views, when they are proven to be right they rant on about it, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
23. good point well made. I guess some managers slag their players off a bit more, but let''s face it this has never been Worthy''s way so why change now. Also, I think people respect his dignified approach. He does comment on effort and to be honest this is one positive you have to dwell on when there is little else to be positive about. I do know for a fact that he is not all sweetness and light behind the closed doors of the dressing room though!
24. premier1, why mid table obscurity? isn''t this the manager who got us promoted in impressive style last year? why would things be any different.  Maybe the premier league is a step too far for him though.
25.
couldn''t agree more and a weak championship team at that, i''ve seen sunderland, wigan and ipswich play much better stuff than that this season. as far shackell totally agreed him and green were the o...
Sunderland, Wigan and Ipswich were playing Championship sides, thats might explain why they look better than us!
