Team and score predictions for tonight...
Gentleman Jim replied to Heacham fc 's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I hope Cody gets a start tonight, City are capable of any score, 4-0 , 0-4 or even 4-4 none of these would surprise me, all depends if they show up on the night ! -
. . . . well they won''t be shouting us on in Berkshire, South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire for vested reasons. Add to that most of the inhabitants of Suffolk for cussed reasons and the one or two on here that would like to see us go down for goodness knows why ! So come mates it''s us versus the rest ! ON THE BALL CITY NEVER MIND THEM LOT ! ! ! ! ! !

49 years ago today......
Gentleman Jim replied to Karl Pilkington's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

....we won promotion to the second tier of english football for the first time. April 27th 1960.
And I was there!
Me too ! [:D] -
I am also a Jamie fan Wiz, But personally I would prefer Cody to start at least, he may be "green" in this league but his eye for a goal will stand him in great stead at most levels. He also seems to be unfazed by the occassion and his youthful enthusiasm might give the other players a lift. IMHO

Why the early kick off for Forest on Saturday?
Gentleman Jim replied to James Kent's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Police advice: The game between Blackpool and Nottingham Forest on April 25th has seen its kick off time brought forward. The Championship fixture was originally a 3pm kick off, but has now moved to 12:30pm. The kick off time has been moved on police advise after trouble between the two sets of supporters in recent games. A group of Forest fans infamously trashed the Swift Hound in 2006 and have only been back once since then - which was a night game.
Disgusting behaviour, they should each have ten points deducted for failing to control their supporters ! [:P] -
looking at the standings
Gentleman Jim replied to Robert Barnes's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
everybody are talking about notts forest and barnsley are we forgeting plymouth if they loose there last 2 games they are right in the mix it could be them that go down they have tough last 2 games would still mean NCFC needs 4 pts to be safe
I did post this on another thread but as it would suit to answer your question :- May I offer a simple at-a-glance table of all the possible combinations whereas we can go above one of the teams above us :- NORWICH. POSSIBLES. BARNSLEY WW 8 WX. WL. XW. XX. XL. LW .LX. LL. WX 4 XX XL LX LL WL 3 XL LX LL XW 4 XX XL LX LL XX 1 LL LW 3 XL LX LL FOREST WW 6 WL XX XL LW. LX LL WX 3 XL LX LL WL 1 LL XW 3 XL LX LL LW 1 LL PLYMOUTH WW 4 XX XL LX LL WX 1 LL XW 1 LL BLACKPOOL WW 1 LL TOTAL 44 As can be seen there are a total of 44 result sequences that can see us safe. The two match combination for City are on the left whilst the relevant required sequences for our rivals on the right. So if we get only two draws "XX" then we can still overtake Barnsley if they lose both games "LL". Hope this is of help. -
Just checked and they are 6/4 to win tonight. I am going to put a few pennies on it to offset the depression if they win but thought it might be an idea for the board to put a large bet on the game. If Barnsley win, and we go down then there is a bit more money to go into the transfer kitty. There is also the added bonus that if the bets are substantial enough that it will raise suspicion of match fixing and might get the result annulled! Not that I am clutching at straws or anything....
It''s a tough call this one, Coventry have won only one match in the last nine whilst Barnsley have won only one in ten. I think both teams are feeling they are glad they are playing each other sure of the victory, sounds like a draw to me.

Derby vs Reading
Gentleman Jim replied to Dion Dublin=Legend's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I disagree. If Reading confirm themselves in the play-offs tonight, then I feel they will want to rest players and keep themselves fresh. Rather than risking picking up needless injuries and suspensions.
Absolutely spot on Jim, if they are mathematically safe when they play us I am sure they will rest their best players. Mind you whether we are able to beat their reserves is a different matter [:D] -
Most important Old Farm for 30 years!
Gentleman Jim replied to Yellow Rider's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

I''d go as far as saying the most important derby in the clubs history.
Expect a no-show from the boys in yellow then :(- Fulham away anyone?
That''s my main worry too CT ! -
Firstly you will beat us on Sunday. We are dire at home, have a manager the players don''t want to play for and your players will be hungrier whilst ours will be thinking of the beach!!. I have no doubt that you beating us will have a positive outcome for us as we will have a new manager for next season. When you have secured safety, and you will, what happens to your squad next season. Surely there is no way your board will let you get in this situation again. They must have a plan, outside investment, lined up to buy some of the loanees who have done well for you. Whatever happens Sunday to the victor just glosses over for 10 minutes the major problems both clubs have.
Hmmm, I wish you didn''t sound so damned certain, We tend to blow it all when we are fancied to win, can''t you just say we have no chance and you are going to slaughter us ? We respond well to that ! ! !
Jim, you need to use the ''insert smiley'' feature which is a drop down list above where you type your post (next to the bold, italic, underlining formating) [:)] (should be seen as [:) ] without the space) and not dragging the ''post icons'' below like this (which just makes an icon appear above my post ^)
[:D],[;)] Cheers AJ !

I was going on Sunday! I''ll have to watch it on the wireless, but if we win I''ll be hitting the town for the afternoon.
Me too Buzz, where I live I can get both Radio Norfolk and Radio Suffolk so I will listen to both biased commentaries, sad I know. It is a great joy when we are winning but damned awful when we aint !
Why oh why don''t these damned smilies work for me ? ? ? ? ? ?

Earnshaw not out for season!
Gentleman Jim replied to Suzi's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
http://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10308~1629431,00.html
Seems like they are playing Fergy type mind games with us. -
that guy off the roof , was attacked because he had been dropping bits of the roof onto the city fans below and therefore a revenge issue occurred , I was a bit young to go to Man U games then - went to others where there were trouble - including the on pitch battle against Spurs after an FA cup tie in 1983 - seen many people go for a swim as they walked along riverside
I can remember one gentleman who went for an involuntary dip just before our ''59 cup matches. He was "helped" into the water by irate supporters to whom he was trying to tout a fistful of hard-to-get match tickets at inflated prices !
