canary in north west surrey 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Very seriously damaging article in this mornings Sunday Times .There seems to be a rotten core in FIFA. Which will damage Football in general. Any thoughts?
Guest Posted June 1, 2014 Sadly nothing new there, you just have to look at the awarding of the world cup to qatar to see it. It about who lavished the most money and gifts(allegedly) and not a thought for the football or players.
Unhinged Canary 375 Posted June 1, 2014 The biggest shock is that people are actually surprised at this ''news''. [:S]
splutcho 196 Posted June 1, 2014 Seemed very likely. Same with giving 2018 to Russia with its disgusting human rights record. There is absolutely no way they will move the world cup though. They''ll spin some sort of excuse, sack somebody minor as a scapegoat and hope we all forget about it.
canary in north west surrey 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Part of the problem is the apologists who say look at all the good things that FIFA do. In a way this disguises its rotten core.

Mello Yello 2,572 Posted June 1, 2014 "GASP!" "SHOCK!" "HORROR!".......''Alleged corruption in FIFA?''......"Nothing to see here.......move along now, c''mon, move along now." Doesn''t take a loser in CLUEDO......to work that one out.....
Old Shuck 291 Posted June 1, 2014 One of the biggest indicators of FIFA''s arrogance is that they know that people see right through them and they know that the rest of the world knows that Qatar was awarded due to bungs yet they still don''t give a f**k about that, the game or how they are perceived because of it. That sort of power and influence, to be completely aware of the fact that most of the world knows their motives and corruption yet feeling free and able to carry on regardless, its the worse kind their is and is out of control. If UEFA (and I don''t think for one moment that either UEFA or our own game is free of corruption) seized some sort of mettle and withdraw, en-masse from FIFA, the latter would suffer immeasurably. For all of FIFA''s posturing, they need the European game and nations behind them, particularly its domestic game and leagues/clubs. If UEFA took that decision, others would follow, new tournaments featuring either clubs, nations, even leagues, would be launched with massive TV and corporate backing. The fact that, in the ''real world'' such a split might already have happened but that it hasn''t says a lot about UEFA and suggests people within that organisation are irrecovably tied to FIFA and that if either went down, the other would follow. As has already been said, someone will be dragged into the spotlight and made the scapegoat, they''ll then pay for it to all go away.
Crafty Canary 547 Posted June 1, 2014 Blather has already stated he will stand for another term despite saying that he wouldn''t when last elected.FIFA is totally corrupt and the FA should never seek to hold the tournament again under the current body. They should seek to canvass other national FAs to see if there would be any support for establishing an alternative to FIFA and hold their own World Cup competition with transparent voting. Darth Catbeard The Old 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Small, elitist country, inhabited by a mix of super rich and basically slaves with no footballing history gets the world cup...yea, nothing dodgy going on there at all.

Helsinki canary 302 Posted June 1, 2014 No surprise here. As they are already planning to change the Qatar event to winter I actually think this latest evidence will be the straw that breaks the camels back, re-vote likely to happen and Australia will get it! lincoln canary (& Golden Coppel) 0 Posted June 1, 2014 I''d support England boycotting FIFA competitions. It''s a sickening organisation run by dictatorship and is corrupt at every level. It desperately needs a revolution. It''s time governments clubbed together to sort this out.
