Herman 9,765 Posted January 4, 2014 I do feel we have wasted a year of his life. Whether he''s good or bad, something about his treatment stinks.

Yellowbeagle 0 Posted January 4, 2014 This has become a stupid situation, unless Becchio thinks there''s likely to a change of manager and he''ll get a chance he and the club are better to part ways. One of the most baffling transfers I''ve seen in my 30 years of supporting the club.
Juggy 0 Posted January 4, 2014 I also think he has been treated badly Herman. He has probably three years left in football and has wasted a year at his peak being a 4th choice striker and given two starts in a year. He is hardly going to look back at his time here with fondness.Would have been better if we''d signed a young striker as back up, not so bad for a 20 year old to get a few minutes here and there. Wishbone 8 Posted January 4, 2014 Hughton definitely fails to understand the positive of having a competitive squad ie the players not playing as important as the ones in the first team...oh well! I always doubted Becchio as a premiership player. Not pacey, clever enough football wise to make up for it!
Juggy 0 Posted January 4, 2014 "he and the club are better to part ways"It is the club stopping him yellowbeagle, he wanted to return to Leeds in the summer and we rejected.

Nuff Said 5,141 Posted January 4, 2014 There''s been the small matter of Premier League wages to ease his pain for the year though. Must help a bit?
Juggy 0 Posted January 4, 2014 Yes, by letting him return to Leeds. Feel sorry for the bloke.
Juggy 0 Posted January 4, 2014 "There''s been the small matter of Premier League wages to ease his pain for the year though. Must help a bit?"He was the highest earner at Leeds and they offered to double his wages. Either we have paid him really silly money, which would make this situation even more ridiculous, or he could have earnt just as well at Leeds but wanted a chance in the Premier League. This is a huge Hughton mistake and a stain on his record. If Becchio was the highest earner at Leeds and could have had his wage doubled, and if we have offered the same or more, then what''s he on? £25k? £30k?That makes things a lot MORE worse if so. morty 0 Posted January 4, 2014 Jeez, listen to yourselves. The plain fact is that good players do not get left to rot for no good reason, and managers who leave good players unused because of some personal dislike wont find themself in a job very long.Get past your anti Hughton bias, and accept that it hasnt worked out for him, and the most likely reason is that he isnt good enough, and that we have hardly abused or mistreated him in some way. Juggy 0 Posted January 4, 2014 We signed him and gave him 2 starts in half a season Morty. And then turned down an offer from Leeds, and left him to rot. That is mistreatment. If he isn''t good enough then why was he signed and why is he still here?

Nuff Said 5,141 Posted January 4, 2014 I think you''re all missing the fact that we actually only swapped him with Morison to ensure Leeds fans were even more pissed off with us for: 1) overhauling them to win League 1, despite an 11 point lead, 2) winning back to back promotions and leaving them behind in the Championship and 3) taking their best players from them.Priceless! Because should injuries dictate it, he would (maybe) be better than playing a youth.Thats how squads work, not everyone can get a game.Mistreatment? Give over. No one would have a problem with that if Hughton''s playing style was either exciting to watch, or effective. Who complained about no Fox on our unbeaten run last season? None, not really. The fact is things aren''t working for us in the league at the moment and one of our worst traits is an inability to keep possession. Now i can''t think of anyone who would be better at erasing that problem than Fox.

And mainly they know better than an actual football team manager who sees the player every day in training. All smacks a little of straw clutching, and clinging onto the concept that fans somehow know better than a manager. Juggy 0 Posted January 4, 2014 "We need 4 strikers in the squad"No we don''t. If we did he''d be getting minutes. For half of last season we had Holt, Jackson and Morison. In the second half we had Holt, Jackson, Kamara and Becchio.Becchio wasn''t really used, Kamara was.He signed a striker that he never intended to use.Why are the Murphy''s considered good enough to make up the numbers on the wings, but Carlton Morris and Loza aren''t up front?Carlton Morris could have done the same job as Becchio (being stuck on the bench and never used).
