he needs to be careful diving for those sorts of shots, club will have to buy him a new hip before pre seasons finished
We look so much better than we did in the Earthquakes game.
its clearly the effect of having the wise old oversized creaking oak in goal

Howson started slow, but is really getting into the game now. He''s constantly bursting from the midfield to support the attack and the movement of RVW, Snodgrass, Hoolahan et al. gives him plenty of options to pass to. Seeing Howson like this, it''s really hard to imagine that Hughton was deliberately making Howson play such a defensive game last season. It''s looking more likely it may have just been a confidence/adaptability issue.

Redmond is going to be a superstar.
Ryan Bennett looked completely knackered within about 20 minutes of kick off.
RVW seems to do that Van Persie thing of dropping deep, going wide, etc. Looks well off the pace though (or being very careful on the artificial surface).
Hoolahan looking a lot sharper tonight.
David Fox absolute bossing it. Wonder whether Hughton has plans for Xavid.

Whittaker looking a bit crap.
Howson been fantastic last ten minutes.
Enjoying the game, better commentators and some professional camera work!

We''ve done everything but score.Nothing I''ve seen so far telling me without more fitness and emphasis on scoring we won''t get goals.Much different to last pre-season where it just didn''t look like we could hit the net

Much better than against the Earthquakes.Need to keep this level of improvement throughout the pre season.Redmond awesome.

Fox is an interesting case. He didn''t really feature last season but has played (I think) in every single game so far? That''s quite strange seeing how Hughton has been more than willing to change other positions during these friendlies (three different goalkeepers, three different right-backs, three different left-backs etc.) Maybe Hughton has started to see something in him? Or maybe Hughton always saw something in him and is now more confident in allowing Fox to take part?
