Are we expecting too much vs Chelsea?

Recommended Posts

I''ve read quite a few posts on here over the weekend and over heard a few people at the WBA game and they feel like we will beat Chelsea for 2 reasons;

1 (this is perfectly valid) - Chelsea looks poor at the back and we do seem to score more often that not.

2 (this is un valid) Because both QPR and Swansea have beaten one of the big 4 that it is our turn.

Please dont think we should get anything becuase this is a ''bonus'' game and any point we get is an extra! Although we need a point to keep lamberts record going of never having a team do the double over us!

Every games is winnable, that is the expectation you should have.Are we more likely to win some games than others ... certainlyWill we will this, and why ?therein begins the debate

oh yes, a draw will do but I doubt that''s the way Lambert and the team will approach the game

To be honest, I''d like to think we will win one game atleast vs on of the ''big 5/6'' teams this season. Chelsea is a very winnable game if you get at them and don''t let them settle. Cahill will probably start but if he play how he did vs us at the Reebok, we don''t have to worry too much about him. I don''t like AVB at all, and would love to beat him, if only to wipe that smug arrogant smile from his face!

I don''t expect any points from the next two games we have coming up.I do believe we CAN take 6 points from them however.Being honest with myself I think if we take 1 point from the next two weeks it will be on saturday.

My stance on Saturdays game is -

Chelsea are not the force they were but their still better than us and a draw will be a good result I''d take now!

But if we play at our best and have a real go at them then we''re certainly capable of beating them!

I don''t feel thats expecting too much!

I would settle for a draw...but think we''re going to be sent crashing down to earth. Torres looked great for them on saturday, doesn''t look to be a clean sheet opportunity does it ;-)

Agree with this. I think there''s a big difference between thinking we WILL beat them and thinking we CAN beat them.  Realistically Chelsea have some top players that can score goals out of nothing.  But if we give it a go - and I fully expect we will - we can win.  Oh and it would help if we don''t gift them any goals.

In fact one of the beauties of the Prem this season is that anyone can beat anyone, as proved by the results over the last month.

You can see precisely what''s going to happen here and yet again the Swans will be the benefactors[:@].  Yet again Swansea play one of the big boys at home immediately after we have played them.  Chelsea will come to CR bust a gut, play out of their skins and scrape a narrow victory.  They''ll then go to Swansea, not play as well, not give as much because of the herculean effort they have expelled beating us and Swansea will get a draw and be unlucky not win or will get win.[:@][:@][:@]
